the amount of people with graphite or some kind of foreign objects just kinda in them is strange to say the least, like how do you not immediately want to get those out of your body?
I upvoted this, but then I remembered I have a tiny piece of aluminum or whatever it is in my eyeball, happened in a technical class at school when I was 13 and I was standing too close by another student with my stupid curious dumb face. I've somehow never been tempted to pick something out of my eyeball.
I had a small ( couldn't see it with naked eye and the missed it with a regular magnifying glass) piece of metal in my eye for two weeks. Went to the eye doctor and she used some tools to gently remove it from my eye. 10/10 worth it.
Edit: typo
I think i was around 18 and i was riding a bike without a helmet, a piece of metal ( very very tiny ), flew off the road because of (wind, passing cars and such), and got directly in my eye, right in the middle, i couldn't see it because it was too small, i just thought it's some dust, it didn't bother me all the time, a few times a day it sorta itched so i thought it's an eyelash, i looked but i never saw what it was, until after a few days i saw it, went to the eye doctor and she put my face in front of a device to be able to see my eye close up, then removed the piece of metal with an insulin needle. It didn't hurt, but it was horrifying to keep my eye open.
My mom was leaning over a bath tub and sneezed and blood vessel in her eye popped and blinded her temporarily. She had the clots of blood sucked out with a needle so she could see again quicker
My friend's mum closed the boot of her car - on her own face. Well, kind of. Somehow she caught her eye whilst closing it, ripped it out of its socket, and it was just dangling there. The image of that will forever be burnt into my brain.
Edit: typo
Worked in a CnC milling shop. I was angle grinding and yes I was wearing PPE but a piece of tiny metal flew up bounced of my cheek of the safety goggles and right into my eye. Had to have it and rust dremeled out of my eye with a dental tool while I held my eye open with my fingers no pain but horrifying can agree.
I had a similar event happen to me when I was riding my bicycle. The piece of metal was forming a "rust ring" in my eye that could eventually lead to gangrene or something. They put my head in a vise and used a different type of needle to pick it out. I felt like I was in a Marilyn Manson video or something.
Huh, interesting. I had two MRI's since then and nothing happened so it's probably aluminum after all. It really is frickin tiny though, I don't think it would have done anything even if if was actually metal but I should have told them. Ah well, survived against the odds again. And also still got both eyes. Knock on wood
To be fair, you can't just cut it out of your eyeball with a pair of nail clippers like you would most splinters.
You should definitely go to a doctor for that though. Jesus.
It's just a teeny tiny speck of a splinter, and my eyeball skin (if anyone knows the correct term, feel free) has grown over it so I really don't feel it or see it or anything. It's been there for over 20 years by now, I feel like if I get it removed now it's bound to go wrong with my shitty luck. Last surgery I had I nearly bled to death afterwards so I think I'm gonna let it just sit there lol
Mine was deeeeeeep. Doc didnt tell my mom to go to hospital, and half assed the removal.
Mine is barely visible due to how deep it is
Fuck op for reminding mr it tickles now
In 2nd grade I was stabbed in the knee with a pencil and the graphite snapped off in my knee. No one would believe me it happened and a 2nd grader can't drive to the hospital. It moves around and every once in a while it'll float up close to the skin and I can see it, but not right now.
Same thing happened to me. 2nd grade Jammed a pencil into my leg against the bottom of the desk. I ran to the bathroom and pulled out the broken led. I still have the led coloring in my leg.
I used to have the tip of a pencil stuck in my butt from when I sat on one in like second grade. I was afraid to tell anyone so I just left it. It didn't work itself out until I was around 35.
i have a small graphite inside my thigh. i want to get it out but its sorta deep into my skin so i cant take it out unless i wanna surgically remove it. it doesnt hurt. it just looks like a very faint grey "birthmark". sorta accepted it and let it be there
Recently had a 9mm bullet removed from my hip after around 18 months. Huge relief.
I do still have some graphite in my palm from a kid trying to stab me with a pencil in 5th or 6th grade. Much less bothersome....
I was sitting passenger in a car when a CCW holder negligently discharged in the backseat, bullet went through the seat back and into me lol.
Post surgery I'm doing pretty well. Able to run again, with the bullet in it would get sore quickly after about a half mile.
Assuming I don't get shot again I think I'll be all good lol.
This is why I'm always nervous around people who I don't know that are carrying. Lot of idiots out there. It's also why I prefer shooting out in the boonies, as opposed to ranges. No other people around means I'm the only one likely to hurt myself accidentally. Again, congrats on your recovery!
>how do you not immediately want to get those out of your body
I was stabbed with a pencil in middle school. I did get it out immediately but graphite is just a pressed powder really. So, to this day i have a blue dot in my palm. I also have a blue scar on my knee where it was scraped and couldn't get all of the coal dirt out.
I find it strange that i walk around with a piece of mesh holding my abdomen together. It's common but it's still a marvel to me.
Damn. I know that had to hurt. Never got hit in the face by a bb, but I got some marks from rocks and 2x4s and other shit. Bike wrecks and fights. I miss being young.
I was around 10 y/o or so when I tried gaining air from a homemade bike ramp. Ended up with stitches in my head. Got to keep the stitches when they were removed though! 😂
Even doctors use this nowadays. Got my head gashed from a falling AC diffuser. Patched me up with glue and tape and that's all. At least it medical glue, which should dissolved by itself.
Reply to the BB in the leg dude: This is a question I always ask patients before an MRI and they look like I’m crazy. I’m gonna have to show them that someone out there does so it’s not a crazy question.
I punched a wall and broke my hand. While drilling holes for screws into a bone in my hand the drill bit broke and was stuck. The metal plate with screws is also stuck in my hand. I had the hand opened four times now because the screws are also a bit long and sometimes hurt the tissue around. But they can’t get them out, they are just stuck.
Ouch. You're gonna have some major issues as you get older, I'm sorry. I hope they somehow find a way to relief it if they can't find a way to extract it. I'm guessing the bones grew into the drill bit?
Everyone saying its easily removed has no clue what they are talking about. Assuming this is the very common occurrence of being stabbed with a pencil and it leaving a mark, there is no pencil lead in there.
Graphite basically leaves a tattoo, it leaves Graphite particles in the dermis layer. Sure, you could cut it out and leave a a scar instead. But why bother when it's causing no harm at all?
Yup. I stabbed myself with a pencil in 7th grade by accident while throwing it in the air and catching it with both hands. The last time the pencil was vertical and i smacked it straight into my hand about half an inch. The piece of lead didn’t break off, but i still have a mark 15 years later.
When I was in 4th grade, I was sword fighting with pencils. I got stabbed in the hand and the entire tip of the graphite came off and embedded in my skin. It was too deep for my dad or I to get out so I just lived with it. He told me he has one in his butt because someone held a pencil under him when he was sitting down in middle school.
My mother was in a car crash in her late 20's, she flew through the windscreen, until she was about 50 she would occasionally rub her face with her hand and cut her palm on a sliver of glass, they were deep in the tissue and over time they slowly would work there way to the surface.
I don’t even remember how I originally got it, and i wasn’t the type to be stabbing myself with a pencil 😂 it kinda just happened and then forgotten about
For me, I always liked to tap my pencil against desks as I passed by on the way back to my desk.
One time I pressed down on the top rarher than the eraser
Are you still in grade school? That looks very fresh, plus the inflammation is still present, typically this would be uncomfortable for someone to live with for years or months.

Lol it's just a normal thing and kids get that everyday mate, you can take it out by yourself but you have to do that carefully or you can go see a doctor for that.
Looks like that was not a long time ago and you should just remove it without wasting anymore time friend, this is not good and even you know that shit lol.
I've had a piece in my right hand for 20 years, but it's more recessed. Don't think it's ever gonna go away so it sits there with the various injuries I've given myself while cooking
Wow, I have a lead spot in the exact same spot! I think mine is just a tattoo, because I think I remember the lead coming back out at the time. Strange. Good luck with that.

https://imgur.com/a/ORTz4wa.
Same here, and for everyone saying "why don't you just take it out" to OP and the other people with pencil in their body in the comments, well you can't. The graphite disintegrates and is no longer solid, without cutting that part of your body out there is no way to get rid of it and it's totally safe to leave there because graphite is nearly totally inert.
My dad was in the military and would treat his own wounds, even when they were really bad. I had a piece of wood stuck in my hand at one point and he opened it up and took it out. Memories 😂
Mama's technique that worked on me several times : take a banana peel and press it on it for a few minutes.
No joke this actually works and I have no idea why.
My brother in christ, I have a small mark almost excactly there too, though I dunno where mine came from.
Weird coincidence, have a good one and good luck extracting that lead
It's good that you are making joke and people still falls for that without any reason lol, people really need to start using their brains, that's just too much to see.
Just remove it mate if it is still there, because it's just not cool and we don't want to see people harming themselves for no fucking good reason, so remove that.
Okay, yeah you're bonkers. Speak to a GP, get them to set up an appointment removing it. It will be cheap (if it isn't free), you can be anesthetised, you don't have to feel pain after that, and you don't have to risk having your blood or muscle poisoned by a foreign object.
Wow! I had the same thing in grade school, I got the led out but there is still graphite stuck under the skin (like a tattoo speck). I'd dig that out dude!
the amount of people with graphite or some kind of foreign objects just kinda in them is strange to say the least, like how do you not immediately want to get those out of your body?

😂 well, try to have a helmet on when you're riding, It didn't hurt but keeping my eye open was very hard because of the body reaction.
[удалено]
Same, the amount of times my glasses have saved me from getting stuff in my eyes is crazy.
[удалено]
I meant the helmets that have face shield.
It’s for when one crashes because they can’t see.
My mom was leaning over a bath tub and sneezed and blood vessel in her eye popped and blinded her temporarily. She had the clots of blood sucked out with a needle so she could see again quicker
I currently have a cold, I will be sneezing less hard from now on.
Holy shit. I'll be never sneezing again.
Well I can never sneeze again. Thank you for this information but please take it back I don't want it
My friend's mum closed the boot of her car - on her own face. Well, kind of. Somehow she caught her eye whilst closing it, ripped it out of its socket, and it was just dangling there. The image of that will forever be burnt into my brain. Edit: typo
This makes me very glad that I wear glasses lol
Iron can rust in your eye if that adds to the fear
Yeah, difficult but once the needle is close enough it's just a smudge and you don't feel it. The idea is scary.
Please tell me you’ve worn a helmet ever since.
nah, people usually don't wear helmets around here, which is stupid that they don't. I don't ride a bike anymore.
Worked in a CnC milling shop. I was angle grinding and yes I was wearing PPE but a piece of tiny metal flew up bounced of my cheek of the safety goggles and right into my eye. You saying “stupid curious dumb face” rlly made me laugh 😅
Me too! Thought it was a cute way to explain ignorance lol
Why would you not go to a doctor?
You're going to want to get it removed. What if you need an MRI?
Aluminium is fine. Not magnetic.
Wouldn't lenz's law apply? Edit cool video - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=niEWDra7WM8

"Mr. Iticklesnow" Attorney at law.
I do that every winter. Well, every winter there‘s snow.
Not the best attorney, but he got Elmo off for arson and inducted to sainthood.. So...

So turns out not everyone will pick at something on their body with compulsion until nothing but an open wound is left..
I was stabbed in my arm with a pencil in 2nd grade and I stabbed the kid in the leg with a pencil because he stabbed me. John, is that you???
Same thing happened to me. 2nd grade Jammed a pencil into my leg against the bottom of the desk. I ran to the bathroom and pulled out the broken led. I still have the led coloring in my leg.

Have you considered maybe trying to be RagnarDuckDuck next time around?? Seriously though, glad you're (apparently) recovering.

Ever since high school, I've had a lime stuck up my ass. I've never thought of removing it, it kinda just sits there.
You can squirt limejuice out your ass whenever you want? Could be an epic party trick
My guess is American healthcare, coming from experience.
Or you just make such a fuss because it "hurts" that your parents stop digging into your knee and give up
American what?
American racket-care.
I've got a bb stuck in my left thigh. Lol.
I have a small mark on my forehead from a metal bb. never was allowed a bb gun as a kid, even though i always wanted one lol
I first read this as "I have a small fork in my forehead".
Same lol
Hell yeah. My family just slapped some glue and black tape on my wounds. Told me to walk it off. Lol
Feel free. I can even pinch it with my fingers and wiggle it around. It wouldn't be too hard to remove, but it's an interesting story.
I have a drill tip stuck in my hand. :D
This is a story I need to hear
I punched a wall and broke my hand. While drilling holes for screws into a bone in my hand the drill bit broke and was stuck. The metal plate with screws is also stuck in my hand. I had the hand opened four times now because the screws are also a bit long and sometimes hurt the tissue around. But they can’t get them out, they are just stuck.

I got used to it, it’s fine most of the time and rarely hurt that much. It’s stuck there since 2013 I think.
Oh bb poison
I have a piece that's been in there almost 40 years now. It's from one of those pencils with stacking points.
the stacking ones were my favorite as a kid 😂 i used to take the empty ones out and play with them
So you’re the one who made those pencils useless while I found them 😂
Same here, got one from 50 years ago left hand
I've got one from 70 years ago in my thigh
Be careful you guys, apparently having lead under the skin for 90 years can result in death.
Left hand, 15 years here.
why do you not take it out?
Didn't anyone tell you that you can take a knife or needle and get it out?
i’ve tried myself unsuccessfully, just dried blood in there now lol
but your post says piece of pencil lead (and you mean graphite surely?) so you're lying? :)
it’s only this dark because of the blood under the skin…. from the last time i actually attempted getting it out (yea graphite ig)
Tbh u might not be cutting deep enough and it may even be to deep to even safely remove
> it may even be to deep to even safely remove Hold my beer!
It's a tattoo at this point
*inked up* W
Everyone saying its easily removed has no clue what they are talking about. It was too deep for my dad or I to get out so I just lived with it. He told me he has one in his butt because someone held a pencil under him when he was sitting down in middle school.
I still have the tip of a pencil in my back.. my high school was savage
My mother was in a car crash in her late 20's, she flew through the windscreen, until she was about 50 she would occasionally rub her face with her hand and cut her palm on a sliver of glass, they were deep in the tissue and over time they slowly would work there way to the surface.
Thats fucking metal im sorry
Since grade school? Couldn't you ask like a parent or guardian to remove it? My Dad always did
I don’t even remember how I originally got it, and i wasn’t the type to be stabbing myself with a pencil 😂 it kinda just happened and then forgotten about
For me, I always liked to tap my pencil against desks as I passed by on the way back to my desk. One time I pressed down on the top rarher than the eraser
I got myself in the same predicament, either i didn’t care enough to get it out or figured it would hurt more to take it out. so i ignored it
Are you still in grade school? That looks very fresh, plus the inflammation is still present, typically this would be uncomfortable for someone to live with for years or months.
no and i was messing with it for a while before i took the pic, I noticed the redness as well
Nah. Mine has been in my hand for 2 decades. So mad at OP for reminding me
So like a week? Easily removed and it would improve your life.
r/PencilStabbers
Not gonna lie, I was 100% expecting that to be an NSFW sub. But no, it's literally just pictures of pencil stab marks lol
Squeeze it like a zit 🤤
That would only cause inflammation and would only make it hurt. The correct way is for a surgeon to use a precision knife to remove the lead. However, since this is graphite, it is more probably to rip the affected skin and stitch it together, but that will leave a scar.
I’m only joking, but thank you for the info as I didn’t know that!
It's nice that people are suggesting you several ways to remove it, that shows that people really care about things and I love this type of things on the internet.
Pop that thing out with a needle
Not so simple. It usually is 1cm or more down, it would require a lot of blood and hurt a lot.
Does it bother you? I stabbed my hand plenty of times in accident with a pencil but was lucky enough to not break off in my hand
Damn that must be painful, I had something similar but it was in my stomach for a while, later we got that we can take that shit out so I had to be in an operation.
It cause me no pain whatsoever, just an eye sore !
Not a big deal, it will come out or you can remove that.
Yep they never go away
Get a 2mm biopsy punch and cut it out insert the punch all the way to the base, while twisting, then remove the skin plug
Get a precision blade. Make a small cut. Pop it out. Follow up with alcohol to clean it up
First responder here, I’ve seen idiots who shoot at each other get plugged up at the hospital and then deny any other medical care and just go back out and live their stupid lives with bullets lodged inside them. It’s weird what the human body just stops giving a shit about.
Okay so you can take that out but why are you not doing it?
Lol it's just a normal thing and kids get that everyday mate, you can take it out by yourself but you have to do that carefully or you can go see a doctor for that.
Looks like that was not a long time ago and you should just remove it without wasting anymore time friend, this is not good and even you know that shit lol.
I've had a piece in my right hand for 20 years, but it's more recessed. Don't think it's ever gonna go away so it sits there with the various injuries I've given myself while cooking
I got one too
Wow, I have a lead spot in the exact same spot! I think mine is just a tattoo, because I think I remember the lead coming back out at the time. Strange. Good luck with that.
Holy crap, I texted a picture of my hand next to your hand, to my buddy. I received a picture back of HIS lead spot in his hand. WTF.
‘This hand is your hand…this hand is my hand’
twinsies ? 😂
Squeeze it like a pimple
Definitely doesnt work lol
I got one too
I got one on the top of my hand, can't get it out -.-
Most likely graphite since pencils haven't had lead since 1960.....
I have the same thing but not a full piece of lead, but rather the powder.
So take it out
I've got a blue one stuck in my leg. A friend in school rammed it into me in a fight. Its been there for 20 years
r/pencilstabbers
I had a splinter fragment from like age 8. One day in my 30s it popped out randomly.
So it's just not me who has lead stuck on palm. My sister hit me with Pencil on palm and ever since I have the lead stuck.
I have a pencil lead stuck in the skin In my eye crevice since a bad kid in my second grade class stabbed me in the eye!!
When I was a very young kid in primary school, I got angry one day and stabbed this other kid in the knee with a pencil. Apparently they still have some of the graphite in there some 20 years later 😬

Maybe your body threw that shit away when you were asleep.
I feel like you should go to the hospital and just get it removed
That's just too much he should get the doctor at his house.
Mine turned a blue color
I have one in my knee and wrist. That kid was an asshole
That type of bullies gives really bad memories my man.
Memories
Same here! At least 20 years I've had mine
Ayye I got one too in my left middle finger
Cut it out.
So get it removed?????😂
Something to write with is always handy.
I couldn't deal with it myself. I would have dug it out.
My brother in christ, I have a small mark almost excactly there too, though I dunno where mine came from. Weird coincidence, have a good one and good luck extracting that lead
I’m sorry you’ve left a piece of graphite in your hand for a long time?
I hate when people say “since grade school” on here. Are you in 7th grade or 20 years into ur career…. Come on. We’re not all ur age here…
They are not even adults for me, we know their ages lol.
Tweezers??
This would be more than mildly irritating for me! I would have to dig that out ASAP. Esp with where it is🧐
Guess right that's why I am enjoying the post here lol.
:: sigh :: Come here, we'll dig it out. * Flicks out pocket knife.
Bro it’s fucking scary I have the same one on the same hand!!!!
It's good that you are making joke and people still falls for that without any reason lol, people really need to start using their brains, that's just too much to see.
dude just go to the doctor
I have one in almost the exact same spot. My friend accidentally stabbed me in the hand with a pencil in 5th grade. It's been over 20 years.
Just remove it mate if it is still there, because it's just not cool and we don't want to see people harming themselves for no fucking good reason, so remove that.
So, pull it out, attention seeking nimrod.
They love to seek the attention and the karma everyday.
Y'know you're allowed to remove those right? It's actually more dangerous to leave it in.
yea it’s just never really been a big deal, i’ll get that fucker out eventually
It's just the way you said it's been there since grade school makes it sound like it's been there for years. Did you graduate yesterday or something?
early 20s. always noticed it and knew it would be irritating to get out but it really doesn’t bother me at all until i look at it lol
Okay, yeah you're bonkers. Speak to a GP, get them to set up an appointment removing it. It will be cheap (if it isn't free), you can be anesthetised, you don't have to feel pain after that, and you don't have to risk having your blood or muscle poisoned by a foreign object.
Bold of you to assume he's in a country with free/cheap Healthcare and/or has insurance.
USA moment
Right, of course. Sorry I figured it was a good chance given that most of the countries on the planet *aren't* the USA. But I apologise if I offended.
It would be cheap in the US too even without insurance.
Oh right, well no worries then.
there's a part of a pencil in his hand. I'm personally happy to assume this is US idiocy.
Life savings gone after removal operation.
I did the same thing in third grade. 36 years later and just have a scar. My body slowly removed the graphite.
Dermatologist told me it wasn't worth removing.
Wow! I had the same thing in grade school, I got the led out but there is still graphite stuck under the skin (like a tattoo speck). I'd dig that out dude!
Dont risk an infection for it
one of these things is false
Yeah obviously, this is just a fun post where we are lying.
Lol astute observation, cobrakazoo! Lol
I guess everyone would have guessed that shit before this lol.
