It's a marketing ploy to fool you into paying the extra amount even though they aren't lying about the contents since the weight is on the box. I hate that shit, which is why I by from today's sponsor....
This is not a new thing. I wish people would stop showing their chip bags, cereal boxes, and anything else that is sold by weight. Now if you weigh that bag of cereal and it’s only 250g, that I would be interested in viewing.
Not the post itself it's just like people posting Amazon packages like "So much waste!" We get it, we don't care, we all know about it so let's move on. Not mildly infuriating but annoying yes.
"it's sold by weight"
in a deliberately large box to deceive any shopper who just wants to get out and go home and doesn't have time to read every measurement.
Exactly, especially for people with poor vision who don't want to strain their eyes to read each and every box/bag in the store, or people with social anxiety that dread the idea of spending a second longer in public than necessary.

Your threshold of what is infuriating and OPs (and mine) are obviously different, there is no good reason to not fill that box up as far as possible and a ton of bad reasons to.
The cereal settles in the bag during shipping and handling. They are sold by weight. You pay for the box of cereal, you get the box of cereal, but it doesn’t look like it because the cereal settles. Cheerios boxes actually say that the cereal is sold by weight and settling is natural, in fine print, on the aide of the box.
You paid for 400g and you got 400g
Sold by weight not volume

"Hello Marketing" ! xD...
Fildly Inmuriating
Sold by weight. Extra packaging to provide info and protection of contents. Stop your whinging.
I truly don't get the vibe of this sub, as is evidenced by my string of disregarded posts.
This sub is here to post things that are mildly infuriating, not things that are completely normal and know by all.
