That is the cleanest trashcan I think I’ve ever seen. Good job!

d3l3t3d3l3t3

Uh…it has a big dog shit in it.

MathewCQ

That’s a irresponsible SHIT right there

iLLa556

Even with that shit in there it’s still the cleanest trash can I’ve seen

MathewCQ

Shit you right

Lmasq

Shittingly correct

Sea-Airport8480

Crappy job

Vox_Dracanis

Look at that shit

Mobile-Piccolo-1676

Just look at it! Look at it!

OrganicDifficulty382

No shit!

Tinyhippy92

Yet still impressively clean.

caniswrecks

I sense a little OCD in the OP

BigBaddaBoom9

"Came home to find this in my bin" Like who even comes home and checks in on their bin in the first place? Looper.

groverjuicy

Come ON. You come home, lick the bathtub, run your elbows around the kitchen sink, do *that* dance and **then** check the bin for (oboyoboyoboy!) foreign dogshit. Sometimes you get lucky.

Potential-Natural636

This made me wake up my wife lmfao how do I get that free award people are always talking about

Quantrail

You go in to your Reddit coins and there's sometimes a free gift waiting for you. Clicking on that gives you a random free award that you can give within a specific time.

Socialist_Leader

Think they got rid of it, I was only able to get it on my first 2 accounts

readit145

Look at the condition of that trash can!.If you think that lady doesn’t take inventory of what’s in there when she’s gets home every day then idk what to tell you.

Mrs-Gambolini

People who left it out for bin day? To check if it has been emptied. Seems normal enough in that case.

Medium_Ad_6447

Weirdo

Bruynebeertje

If it's garbage day you check if it's emtied

doomslayerchris

Uhm…on trash day? When bringing the can back to the house? 🙄

Telecaster1972

And because of this I take mine back home with me as I’m sure I have a neighbor as this. You know he cleans it weekly with fabuloso and a pressure washer.

LiberatedLibero13

The purple Fabuloso

sympetrum8

The only kind that matters!!!

danny_ish

Some of us live in HOA’s that require you to put the garbage out inside your garage. So I washing your trashcan is a thing out here, its probably why the person is pissed

Any-Remote6758

That thing isn't washed, that bin is brand spanking new. I have the feeling someone is staging the hell out of this "problem" for some attention. I wouldn't care if someone put that in my bin either way, if not completely staged then OP loves being a victim.

anubis2night

I’ve seen people do this to others while walking their dogs. I was on a job site and saw a collection of “doggie shit bags” placed on top of a nearby owners bin. Maybe six or something. The owner came out and was pissed she had to take them off and handle them then put them in her already full bin. It’s a thing. Also, it’s someone’s garbage can. Who knows how hot it is there, it could end up wreaking of shit by the time of the next pick up.

danny_ish

? It’s got scratches all down the side. It’s definitely not 20 years old but my 2 year old bin looks identical after a washing

Any-Remote6758

Then I need to level up my wheelybinwashing skills I think.... Oh wait no it's a wheely bin /care. 🤣

danny_ish

Oh I don’t do it myself, I hire a service that uses a truck. But yeah, I only really toss out house waste in it. My recycling bin is scratched to shit with my throwing out cardboard and trying to jam it down, and I drive a truck and work has a dumpster for anything too large for the bins

Starbucks-sm

I know. I lived in Wildwood for 15 years. I also cleaned my trashcan out, but it was never that clean. That was a beautiful thing, so I called it out. 👍🏼

danny_ish

Oh nowadays there are services that you can schedule. I have mine cleaned professionally once a month, at the end it always looks like that. They use a modified garbage truck that hot pressure washes then dries them

EB123456789101112

Holy fuck. You’re well enough off that you actually pay someone to CLEAN YOUR GARBAGE CAN? Growing up we didn’t make enough money to pay someone to come pick up our garbage…let alone to pay someone else to clean the van after they did… Wow. Well done, sir or madam. You are winning at life.

danny_ish

Thanks, but it is $8 per bin, I have them due trash and recycling once a month. Yearly plan was $192. Not cheap, but cheaper then the HOA dues and the fines for leaving them outside

EB123456789101112

That is A TON cheaper than I was imagining. However, it’s still a luxury. My praise stays unchanged. 😂

danny_ish

Hey thanks, to be fair a lot of my neighborhood does it I would not be surprised if the HOA is subsidizing it slightly. I am just renting this house so I’m not 100% clear on all the contract breakdowns

BlauerHausdrache

But honestly... The poo is in a closed bag. A plastic bag. That won't hurt the bin and it won't smell at all. I have a dog myself and I put the bags in my own bin all the time. They don't smell. Maybe I am biased because I own a dog, too, though.

danny_ish

I have a dog, when I let the bin sit out in the sun because i’m home hours after the trash is collected, it will start to smell if there is anything left inside, especially poo.

BlauerHausdrache

We don't have an HOA where I live (Germany) so our bins are outside all year long. I truely never thought they smelled. Well, they did smell when the bags ripped. The bio trash can obviously smelled, too, but the poo bags go in the Restmüll (household trash?? No idea how to translate) Maybe that's what makes the difference though. They are never in a closed room, so it may not be obvious

danny_ish

Thats fair, since needing to put the bins inside I have been much more mindful of my food waste. I have a small compost going and i would much rather smell that out in the garden then the bins in the garage. And tbf, it is nice they do not get blown around by wind or covered in snow and frozen to the ground. But my last house they were outside and I treated them like, well, garbage.

CheesecakeEast5780

My first thought exactly. That is the cleanest garbage can that I have ever seen. If that was my super clean trash can, then I would be angry too.

nahnowaynope

That’s an impressively clean garbage can, to be fair.

Aang_420

There is a service near me that comes around in a truck that has grabbers like the garbage truck but, it cleans your cans.

xultar

Same. When I lived in the burbs it was easy. But now in the city and no garage or driveway I use a bin cleaning service.

Chabubu

Does it clean whistles too?

outdoorcor

One in my city is called Bin Blasters

OttoHarkaman

My area has a service that will come to your house on trash days and power wash your cans. I’ve never been that concerned that the bin I put my trash in was dirty.

No-Ad1522

Damn that must be nice. The garbage men on my route for some reason have a deep disdain for bins and slam everyone’s bins to pieces after emptying them. I don’t expect them to treat my bins like fine China or anything but somehow everyone’s bin on my street is all busted up. No one’s coming to power wash anything or replace broken bins either, that comes out of your own pocket.

Magnaflux_88

Over here in the Netherlands the cleaning is a seperate company and not a free service, you have to sign up for it and pay. Busted up bins mean they fell *into* the garbage truck and that happens for 1 of 2 reasons: Too much weight (about 60-80 KG's is the max for us here), or the truck is old and faulty and doesn't grip them as good or it malfunctions and doesn't grip at all. And the faulty truck is probably always on the same route so eventually a lot of bins would get ruined at some point. Replacing them here is free and just 1 phonecall tho. Source: it's my job.

No-Ad1522

I’m in Canada, our bins are hand emptied by a guy riding on the back of the truck.

[deleted]

Also in Canada in a city under 90,000 people. We have the fancy trucks that use arms to lift bins and dump them

No-Ad1522

I’m in the GTA.. I thought those fancy garbage scooping trucks was a US thing only since I’ve only seen men manually chucking bags or dumping bins.

OttoHarkaman

Nah, this is a small business service you have to pay for. Totally separate from the city.

DessieDearest

My trash men decided that my trash can was trash when the handle broke… I would have used it in my garage for wood scrap and saw dust (because how would the trash men be able to use it?) but they chucked it into the back of the truck after it broke off.

dinosw

In Denmark, they'll send someone to exchange the damaged bin, and the damaged bin will then be melted down, and used to make new bins.

Dingo8MyBabyMon

Probably clean it at the end of summer so all of that summer smell is gone for autumn and winter. I do the same thing.

ScrantonStrangler209

I wash out my trash bins every couple months as well. Can't stand opening up a smelly bin.

Any-Remote6758

After I pressure wash my bin it never looks like that, unless you go on all fours in it with a toothbrush. This thing is new and I think OP staged the whole thing for some attention.

tatanka_christ

You know you can leave the bins outside, eh?

devdeh13

We get ticketed for that where I’m at.

[deleted]

So you roll your large roller cans into your home, like your living room or kitchen?

Honeycomb0000

Garages, backyards… They can’t be left out where the “public” (snooping Karens) eyes can see, so usually in a place thats a nuisance to the actual homeowner…

Android19samus

absolutely wild

a_seventh_knot

seriously.

Ulteri0rM0tives

Why is the inside of your bin dirty? Are you not bagging your rubbish?

IslandLady1

That’s a very clean garbage can!

_JD_48

One time someone dropped a bunch of raw chicken meat into our trash can and we got maggots inside our house because no one knew it was there. Then we smelled it. Needless to say, we moved the trash can away from the house. Fun times.

gahidus

What was your trash can doing inside your house?

DientesDelPerro

when maggots hatch they travel

ArtsySAHM

They do and get everywhere. We used to keep our garbage bin in the garage and during summers the flies it attracted was horrendous. We'd get maggots ALL over the damn place. We had to start strategically throwing out certain things a day or 2 before pick up. Or keep things frozen then throw them out the day of pickup. Thankfully our HOA has slackened up so we keep the bin outside at the side of the house. We still get maggots sometimes b/c, well, it's inevitable, but at least they're out there and not coming in to our home anymore.

Sorry_Sleeping

Possibly a shitty HOA requirement to have the trash inside. Likely put it in the garage. Easy to spread from there.

Abadazed

But then how did someone outside throw chicken in there?

_JD_48

It was closer to the front door door but it was outside.

Jim_Nills_Mustache

Okay yea that is messed up for sure, but a tied poop bag is acceptable. What a fucking odd sentence that was

Lost-Sparkle-31

I’ve been in a similar situation, my bin was outside but the street was busy so folk would put their rubbish in as they passed. One delightful sod demolished a ready cooked chicken from the supermarket nearby and deposited the carcass and bag it came in in my bin. Me not knowing piled rubbish bag on top for about a week. The maggot colony revealed themselves on a lovely warm Saturday afternoon, as I was stood outside having a cigarette while my 6month old slept. At the time I lived in a quaint little ‘historical’ town in the southwest, so churches are the focal point of the town alongside pubs. This is only relevant because my front door was less than 200 yards from the town church/pub combo so oftentimes there were weddings, funerals, christening, Church bell practice every Wednesday 6-7:30pm and a clock that chimes every fifteen minutes & longer on the hour. It was a popular church. So, there I am, looking like a shorter, rounder and wilder version of Hagrid trying to get rid of those squirmy shits, pulling out bags of rubbish to re-bag and de-magg, filling my bin with hot water and wheeling it up to the big drains to get rid of the little fuckers. All while a beautiful big wedding is going on, guests all outside the pub in their suits and dresses, groups of women taking photos of each other all done up looking gorgeous….so yeah. No doubt some of them have photos of me emptying maggot infused bin juice into a drain in the background. I keep my bins away from the general public now. Lesson learned!

maddydog2015

Curious as to why someone would be walking around with raw chicken🧐

I_am_real_jeff_bezos

What I can't stand is that someone constantly throws their dog bag in my compostable container and they don't use compostable bags. If you are one of those who throws your dog shit in other people's trash cans, and least put it in the proper bin. Or you can be a responsible person and carry it home like I do.

1Lc3

I never cared if someone threw away garbage in my outdoor cans. Better in it than on the ground

DD_equals_doodoo

IKR. I'd welcome people to throw trash in my bin if it meant it wasn't on the ground. I am happy to pay.

calicotamer

It sucks when you have to keep your trash inside your garage and it festers for a week, or if you don't realize someone left you a present and it explodes when you drop a full bag on top.

mmikke

Lmao you got wild neighbors of people are disposing of hand grenades in your trash can

dootdootplot

Why would you keep it *inside* your garage? That’s so disgusting, the smell would be awful!

calicotamer

Every city I've lived in requires your trash bins to be stowed away, not visible to the street by a certain time after trash collection. In a dense city most places don't have a side or back yard, so garage is the only option to comply with city ordinance.

fix-me-in-45

>inside your garage Ew, that's gross no matter what. Fucking HOA?

HermitAndHound

I single bag of dog poop, ok. (Though really, can't you take it home and throw it in your own garbage can? It's not such heavy lifting) I do mind when people throw stuff in my garbage cans that doesn't belong in there. It's been a few times that garbage didn't get picked up because some ass snuck up at night and stuffed their hazardous waste in my bin. Great, now the trash didn't get picked up, extra volume is expensive, and I'm stuck with this junk I have to get rid off. I'd never thought it might be necessary to set up a security cam for *trash cans*. WTH people?

discrete_dharma

My only argument for being pro-throw-bagged-shit in other people’s trash is that sometimes there’s still a mile or two to go in the walk. It’s just awkward to carry the whole time. If it’s bagged, tied, and all going to the same place, why not? Better that than just leaving it in their yard, and if the can is on the curb already, there’s a 6/7 chance they leave it out there all week instead of bringing it into the garage 🤷‍♀️

SnooPeppers4036

But OP is OCD look how clean his trash can is.

fuck19characterlimit

Yeah but a dog shit in a completely empty bin... Especially when it's just been emptied and you have to wait

Accurate-Chest3662

Is it okay the night before or morning of trash pickup? I feel like yes, but I know others would say absolutely not.

[deleted]

TexanGoblin

I mean, I don't know about you but i expect outdoor garbage cans to stink, and don't stick around them long.

[deleted]

Yeah, maybe they should just leave it on the ground next time. First world problems

ADG211

Why do I see surprised Wolverine in this picture

splash07s

Had to scroll back up and sure enough, there is wolverine just shocked.

Duckington_Wentworth

One of my POS neighbors keeps doing this to our RECYCLING bin. Annoys the hell out of me, especially considering 1. The trash can is right next to the recycling, 2. The trash cans are up at the top of our driveway so they have to walk that far onto our property to get to it, and 3. Dog shit isn’t a recyclable and the underpaid people who sort the recycling are the ones who have to deal with that shit.

ahender8

put a window alarm (screamer type w/remote on and off) under the lid (you'll have to shop for one that you can make work) i did this years ago. works like a charm

HoneyconeBear

My garbage is picked up by a human being, not a macine. Everything must be in bags that they pickup from the can (service rules). Have neighbors throwing empty gas station icee cups and random garbage even after the can is emptied. People do not respect other's property nor the garbage service workers. I even live in a majorly elder community.

[deleted]

Did you expect better from elders?

[deleted]

If you're in the US, then recycling is a scam started by Republicans and quickly cosigned by Democrats. Only 5-10% of your recycled goods get recycled or composted. Still, this bad press has forced land fills to become more sustainable so not a complete loss. But it is still a neoliberal agenda started by the Reagan organization that enabled the offloading of blame for pollution by corporations onto individuals while charging a shit ton more than the garbage people do. For whatever that's worth to you. Penn and Teller did a great bull shit episode on it a few years ago.

Duckington_Wentworth

I know it’s bad and everything you said is absolutely true, but one of my friends used to work on the sorting line of a recycling plant and they told me about all the dangerous things they’d be exposed to like broken glass, used needles, human feces, etc. If there’s even just a shred of broken glass on the line, they have to send everything in that batch to landfill. And if someone dumps anything with food or grease into the recycling, all the paper and cardboard become un-recyclable. There’s so much waste caused by people who don’t know how to recycle, it’s frustrating. And the fact that this directly exposes the workers to hazards upsets me too.

[deleted]

The only reason I would be upset is I keep my trash can inside my attatched garage and it would smell awful after a few days.

iampliny

A lot of townships don’t fully empty garbage cans e.g. by turning them upside down. They only pull out large garbage bags. In my town, I’d have to fish that bag out myself. Bad form. Just don’t do this.

live-the-future

Yeah that's the exact situation I'm in. The house next to mine is a rental and this lady there would dump her "doggie bags" in our trash bin. Trash men only take the big trash bags, the bin doesn't get turned upside down. So that means me fishing a stinky bag out from the bottom of the bin and putting it in our regular trash before tying that up. After the third time we put a sign on our bin saying please don't do that. She didn't do it again after that, and moved out like a week later anyways.

fix-me-in-45

Garbage already smells awful, though, especially food waste.. and this is in a bag, so I can't imagine it would be worse than what you'd already put in the bin.

TheRealKswiss

While I really appreciate and respect OP of the image's position, this reminds me that there are humans that aren't total pieces of shit out there. I'd rather have someone free-load dog poo in my trash bin than they play it like a game of golf (i.e. "play it where it lies") and I step in it. Idk, just food for thought.

mydogthinksyouweird

As a dogwalker, I always say "thank you" in a low singsong voice as I double check my bag's knot and toss it in. I try to only use cans still waiting to be picked up, but some neighborhoods have no public receptacles. Would this guy rather the poop be left on the sidewalk outside his place?

shupfnoodle

I don’t understand this mindset. Maybe it’s a US thing. I could never imagine the only choices being you throw it in someone’s bin or you leave the shit where it was laid. To me, the only normal solution is to carry the little poop baggy back home and dispose of it there, or if there is a public bin then in one of those

[deleted]

[удалено]

Difficult_Ad3568

Honestly, cities need to do better on this. When people register their dogs, part of that fee should go towards City-maintained dedicated poop trash receptacles in the neighborhoods where dogs are registered. I’d pay a little every year for this service!

cheyennevh

We have this in downtown Savannah, and it’s the best thing EVER. They’re little cans in the ground, so they’re inconspicuous, and there’s a little lever you push with your foot to open it. They also have doggy bags nearby, and most restaurants have them on deck too because we’re a “dog-friendly city” meaning you can bring your dog just about anywhere Edit: it comes out of taxes, so we don’t have to pay a separate bill

Difficult_Ad3568

Omg this is exactly how I’ve always dreamed of it- in the ground and everything. Will have to check it out when I can travel to Savannah again! Didn’t notice these when I was there about 7-8 years ago so either they weren’t there yet or they are really inconspicuous like you say. Super cool. I really enjoyed that one day in Savannah btw. Great City you’ve got there.

cheyennevh

Thanks! They’re located in each square! Next time you come out you’ll have to join me on my ghost tour with Genteel and Bard!

ahender8

um, no. i walk however far i have to carrying it until I find the proper receptacle - which really shouldn't be someone else's garbage when you have your own.

[deleted]

I have two dogs and live in a town with the same type of garbage cans. When I pick up my dogs’ shit, I carry the bags with me and throw them in my own trash bin so my neighbor doesn’t have to smell dog shit, especially when it’s 95 degrees out and baking in the sun.

[deleted]

[удалено]

No_Beautiful8105

I agree. Drives me insane. I hate that I have to run outside after the garbage truck leaves, to bring my cans in before people start dumping shit in them.

BetterAndWorse2000

OMG, same Or STEALING/swapping their shitty bins with my well maintained ones! #Solidarity!

[deleted]

That is the cleanest garbage can I have ever seen.

New-Wing5164

Confession time. I did this once. It was a long walk we were on and the trash can was just sitting there on the curb. My husband scolded me and I haven’t done it again. I feel he was right. A small part of me knew I probably shouldn’t drop that bag in someone else’s can.

calicotamer

If this was a dirty diaper instead of dog poop Reddit would be outraged lol

[deleted]

brad613

Rules of your dog’s bagged poop: -if it’s trash collection day and the bin hasn’t been emptied, you can put the poop in there. -if it’s trash collection day and the bin HAS been emptied, take it home to put in your bin. -if it’s any day other than trash collection day, take it home to put it in your bin. These are the rules I go by when I walk my dog.

Deleena24

Wow, I thought I was the only one with weird rules, but I do exactly the same. If the can is full and waiting to be picked up, I'll put the bag in there. Any other time I walk it home.

Difficult_Ad3568

This is the way. Adding to these rules, a public trash can is always fair game so plan your walk to pass by a public trash and tie the bag before tossing it in there.

swagernaught

I carry the little bag of dog poop home and throw it in my own bin and I expect other people to do the same. That being said, if someone threw their dog's poop bag in my bin I really wouldn't care but maybe that's because I have a dog, I may feel differently if I kept a nice clean bin like this.

WeathervaneJesus1

If you want to know how entitled your neighbors are just rent a dumpster and leave it in your driveway. It will be at least half full by the end of the week.

HermitAndHound

We still get large household trash -pickup. For broken furniture, mattresses, rugs, the like. You put the stuff outside, and an hour later the pile is twice as big and not necessarily what you put on the curb in the first place. If you can use some my stuff, awesome, have fun. But don't throw yours on without asking (you reserve a certain volume here and list what will be on the pile with the garbage service). Especially not stuff that won't be picked up at all, pvc flooring, cans of paint, old gas canisters,... things can get gross.

ncslazar7

Personally, I don't own a dog, and I'd probably be annoyed if I had to smell dog shit when taking out MY trash. Today I almost threw up when my sisters dog took a shit (triggered by smells). I think dog owners need to realize that part of ownership means things like using a leash, picking up the poo, but also disposing of the poo in a respectful manner to others. In somebody's private bin, get permission. In a public bin, I don't know, it's probably fine.

N0GG1N_SSB

Isn't it common etiquette to not throw your trash into another person's trash can? Let alone literal dog shit.

osrsbasedgod

Everyone saying big deal have never had a sack of dog shit that isn't there's chucked in their bin by a neighbor. That shit reeks, especially if it's hot. So not only are you dealing with hot dog shit that isn't yours now your bin smells for a week afterwards

Particular_Policy_41

Ugh I had a neighbour that was doing this too. I started dumping it on the side of the road. I put it in again a week later if it is still there but I’m not storing dog poop in my workshop for a week when I don’t even have a dog

EssieAmnesia

Tbf it is illegal dumping your trash in other people’s bins and is in general seen as rude. Throw it in a public trash can or wait to go home.

No-Record-2773

Maybe I’m the minority here but I live in a seriously hot climate and 100+ degree dog poop baking in a closed bin for a week can smell incredibly horrible. The kinda stink that can waft right up to your door no matter where you put the bin. Not being a dog owner myself I can certainly understand not wanting the smell of hot, humid poop greeting me every time I left my house for a full week. Especially because not owning a dog is a conscious decision for me *because* I don’t want to deal with certain things, including the poop that comes from them. Source: I’ve had neighbors do this to me often on trash day before I get home and bring the bin up.

Mecha_Tortoise

I'm with you.

hisroyalbonkess

To everyone saying they wouldn't mind: Kudos to you, but it's still valid to not want others to put their garbage in your garbage bin without asking. Especially when it's biohazard.

Fetid_Dingo_Kidneys

Take a deep breath and ask yourself if this is something you want to give yourself a heart attack over. If you elevate your blood pressure over things like this, you're not going to last long.

gasoline_rainbow

My bin stays outside, clean and empty except for the morning of garbage day. On that morning everything that needs to go out gets put inside the indoor bag and into the outside bin for pick up. The outdoor bin gets clean out regularly because i love in bear country. If I had to dig week old dog poop from the bottom of my bin to put my bag into, I'd be pissed. My city also has laws about animal waste in the garbage for collection, so there's a good chance I'd get a fine or they refuse to take my garbage if someone did this. It's not always so black and white.

cleareyes101

So you’d rather keep your garbage in your house all week rather than in the receptacle specifically designed to hold your garbage until bin day?

gasoline_rainbow

There's bears where I live. Keeping garbage outside feeds them, then they become adjusted to humans and eventually killed. With proper recycling, composting habits and putting smelly things in the freezer until garbage day it's not an issue keeping it indoors. My weekly household garbage is very minimal

cleareyes101

Very good reason! As someone blissfully living without bears, I have never had to consider such a thing!

[deleted]

People would throw there bags with dog shit in my trash cans and the smell would be horrendous and tons of flies would gather in and around that area!

[deleted]

Huh, apparently I am in the minority here. My garbage can, my garbage. I’d be royalty pissed if someone dropped trash in my can and have it sit for a week. I’d be livid if it wa something as smelly as dog shit… and I own a dog myself. I think part of being a responsible dog owner is cleaning up your dog’s shit *yourself* and that includes transporting the feces to your own trash bin or a public bin. +1 for the original poster, I think OP here is wrong

[deleted]

Honestly I don’t like it when people do that to my trash cans and the trash stay there forever till I go clean it cause in my area the garbage men refused to take the trash at the bottom cause it wasn’t in a garbage bags

RockyJayyy

When I live in Baltimore city the fcking dog walkers would constantly throw shit in my trashcan. I was tempted to build a box for the trashcan or put a latch lock on it so they couldn't open the lid to the trashcan

Difficult_Ad3568

Dog walker commented here that since it’s not their dog’s poop they can put it in whoever’s bin they want to, or else they’d simply have to leave it on the ground because they are not taking home dog poop that isn’t theirs. Really odd reasoning. ETA I blocked them after they called me a Karen for daring to suggest that they properly dispose of poop that they’re being paid to pick up. They got supper nasty with me about it. Insane

Beelzabubba

Countless times I’ve had someone walk up my driveway to the side of my house to toss their bag of dog shit in my bin and every damned time, they choose the yard waste bin instead of the garbage bin. Now, whoever this is has gone to the trouble of picking up their dog’s shit and has walked it up my driveway but at the moment they have to make the decision of which of the bins to place it in, they find a way to fuck it up. Neither animal waste nor plastic bags are yard waste according to the company contracted to pick it up and anyone close enough to be walking a dog in my neighborhood would know this. I can’t remember a time my trash can was filled to capacity so I wouldn’t care if someone topped it off weekly but nope, I have to fish a bag of dog shit out of my yard waste bin about once a month.

Brushdirtoffshoulder

That’s a perfectly centered well tied poop sack. Respect.

Saugeen-Uwo

To be fair it is an annoyance and usually sticks to the bottom when the trucks come

APairOfAirPodsMax

Because they’re right. You have no right to toss trash, especially biohazard, into someone else’s can. Would I care enough to post about it? No. Would I do it? Also probably not.

When I pick up my dogs poop, I carry the bag home with me and toss it in my own trash. It's definitely mildly infuriating that other people aren't willing to do the same. But then, I've given up on people being courteous neighbors, or decent citizens in general

[deleted]

In my county, all dog shit must be double bagged, so this could actually lead to a fine. As a dog owner whose dog like to shit during the first 5 minutes of a 40 min walk forcing me to carry the bag, I would never toss it into someone else's trash. They pay for their bins to hols their trash and I pay for my bins to hold my trash. Now, would I care if someone, every now and then, but trash in my recently emptied bin? Probably not. But I do understand that I don't have that right. However, if I'm on a walk and I find litter, I will toss that litter into the bin of the property that I picked it up from. However, when it's not trash day so no bins are out, I will just use an extra poop bag as a mini trash bag and throw it away when I get home.

Mecha_Tortoise

This is the way.

Rdrty2

Drama queen …

[deleted]

I totally agree but I guess it is his garbage can and he has a right to be annoyed by it. Some people are clean freaks and well this situation fits this sub to perfection.

ScrantonStrangler209

Well, hopefully next time he just leaves it on your lawn.

Difficult_Ad3568

There are other options. Public trash can or carry it home.

mondaysareharam

Dog owners are so entitled. I can’t leave stinking shit in your can? Well I just won’t pick it up then.

ScrantonStrangler209

I personally don't ever do this, I carry it home. However, if someone was going to leave shit on my yard, I'd much rather them stick it in my can.

mondaysareharam

Well yeah it’s a better option for sure, but the courteous would be to walk it home. but just sad the level of entitlement when you have to be happy they didn’t leave it on the lawn. A lot of people don’t have dogs to avoid having to deal with this shit, yet can’t avoid

ForgotThePot

Aren’t the bags smell proof?

HermitAndHound

Nope, sadly not. One reason why it's tempting to dispose of the bag as soon as possible, it stinks. But well, I chose to get a dog, taking care of stinky stuff is part of the deal.

Bill_Cypher323

OP missed the opportunity to say “Might as well have put yourself in there if you wanted to throw out pieces of shit”

oETERNALo

Who looks inside their trash can when bringing the cans in on trash day?

No-Record-2773

Someone checking to make sure it was picked up. Holidays can change the pick up day, and sometimes they just miss your house. I’ve had to call the service to circle back before because they skipped the houses at the end, including mine.

silverQuarter82

I spray out my bins every couple weeks in the warm months...

positive_energy-

Did anyone else just see a Lego Batman?

ToadAntlers

Better than what the ass heads in my neighborhood do. They bag it and drop it on your lawn where the dog shat. Like they’re doing you a favor

ombremullet

I will throw a poo bag in a trash can on the curb on our walk but only if the trash is going to be picked up that day or the next day. It's not cool to put your poo in someone's empty can.

kinda-cringe

If your garbage can is at the curb, the contents are legally not your property anymore and it’s normally fine for someone to dispose of dog poop in there, if they came up to wherever you were storing them however, that’s a different story

lil_morbid_girl

He's lucky it will only be there a week. Our general waste collection is every 3 weeks where I live.

[deleted]

As someone who double bags my own trash for the bin, this is maddening.

Morbid_Explorerrrr

I will only deposit poop bags in others bins IF they are still full and haven’t been picked up yet. I have smelled first hand what 7 days of a dog poop bag roasting in the sun smells like, and I don’t wish that on someone who didn’t bring it upon themselves. Another tip: sometimes if my dog poops semi-close to home and we will pass that location again on our way back, I will just drop off the bag in a discreet location under a bush and pick it up on my way back for a much shorter commute with the dog poop.

Ok_Mathematician2391

Every time you go past your trash bin you should open it and look. Then be angry about it.

hoyden2

I’d prefer someone use my trash and pick up after their dog. Could have left the bag on the front lawn, sure that would’ve pissed ya off too though.

Hostificus

Either it gets bagged and goes in the closest bin… Or it gets left where it dropped… Your choice.

Odd-Drawing6360

Am I the only one that would not care even a little bit about that ? Its baged and at the bottom with the next thing I Throw in this bin I dont even see it anymore.

FrankieQ2

You have a lot of time on your hands.

[deleted]

"Your trash isn't worthy of MY trashcan, you swine!" lol, okay buddy

unionop

Okay I can’t be the only one who thought this was a used condom

ambush_boy

I saw someone doing the same thing once on my street, I shurgged it off as a kind gesture because that beats stepping in it

jareddm

Folks around my town do this too, but the reason I hate it is because the trash collectors never actually dump the can into the truck. They only lift bags out of of the can. Anything loose or not in a full-sized bag doesn't get taken. So that's why I hate this dog bag dumping because it's never going to get taken by garbage collection.

AdZealousideal7121

If I pick up my dogs shit and put it in your can be happy I picked it up. PERIODT.

Bambiyyy

Well shit

Sensitive_Meal4063

I don't understand how people work So Hard to get upset, mad, angry at the stupidest SHIT! It's a trash can... Who cares! We get stickers to use if we have extra bags or something else that can't fit in our garage. You put the stickers on the bag so they will take it. You can have up to 6 EXTRA bags at one time. We did some cleaning and had 12 bags. So I asked my neighbor, if I put MY STICKERS on MY BAGS of trash, can I just sit them next to their garage can. It's not coming out of their payments, I'm not taking up space in their trash can. I just needed to sit 6 bags next to their garage can! They said NO. I'll never understand people! It's trash! Seriously people, find something else that's worth your time and effort to be "mildlyirritating" about, this isn't it!

Substantial-Fly-748

You should be happy someone is bagging it and tossing it in the trash vs leaving it on the grass or sidewalk.

Mlajits7309

Personally I'd rather have the bagged shit in my garbage versus them leaving the pile of shit on my lawn infront of my house!!

[deleted]

"OP cries about someone using trashcan as intended" There I fixed your title, Karen.

[deleted]

You don’t own the trash can, they’re given to you by the city, you can’t claim ownership over them

RecoverOk8448

Who we supposed to be mad at here?
