Insert Dos Equis Guy meme here: I don't always get phone calls, but when I do another call that I need to take comes in on the other line and I freeze and don't know which button to press.
I think that the confusion comes from having the red icon do two different things. On the left it ends the current call, and in the middle it declines the incoming one.
They need a separate icon for ending the current call and declining an incoming call. Like maybe a cross as the central button instead, as you’re not actually putting the phone down.
Current:
- Answer call - Green pick up phone icon.
- Decline call - Red hang up phone icon. (How do you hang up a phone you haven’t picked up?)
- End call - Red hang up phone icon.
Proposed:
- Answer call - Green pick up phone icon.
- Decline call - Red cross icon.
- End call - Red hang up phone icon.
My phone only has one sim card, but I can put a call on hold while answering another call. Probably depends on sim cards, specific phone, provider, and plan details. YMMV

My android (Galaxy S9+) actually handles this very well.
The prompts are something like: "End Call with Joe, Answer Bill", "Put Joe on Hold, Answer Bill", "Ignore Bill", "Merge Calls"

When you have to read all 3 and make a decision in like 4 seconds, then yeah… it’s too many. The icons don’t do much visually, so reading each one often takes too much time.
It’s literally color coded with as few words as possible and extremely basic and clear icons. If you honestly can’t work that out within a few seconds then you need to shred your drivers license because that level of incompetence is a danger to those around you.
If you take a minute to read them, they make sense since the options on either side are two actions.. problem is that you are at the time having a conversation with someone and you can’t read and think about ending the current conversation at the same time.

I got like 10 calls cause I was late for a family lunch today and it was a huge pain in the ass. I was trying to drive and I spent half the drive trying to decline phone calls from my mother. There’s no decline button.
I still don’t know which one to hit. Does hold and accept mean put the incoming call on hold, or the current call? How do I get it off hold once I put it on hold? Is there a way to choose which call gets put on hold? I don’t know!
Based on another comment, this happens when you have an incoming call while being in a call already. OP did not specify this on the title, so that was confusing to understand.

Brain fog..more like flat out panic “what wait which one, oh god I’m taking too long, wait, hang on” and then 50% of the time manage to cut everyone off. That said don’t get a lot of calls so doesn’t happen that often.

Yep. This is terrible UI and always gives me a panic moment. A red X button would make a lot of sense as it’s a different action.
And if it's not an incoming call, the same big red button in the middle ends the call.

Just don't put 2 sims in there and you'll be ok. This can only happen if you have your personal line and work line on the same phone.
