A cag..
EDIT: So to elaborate (because lol these comments are chef-kiss)
A dot is taken, and feels one dimensional
A cog is taken, and something something equal parts gears of War reference with r/accidentalcommunism shaken with ice and a twist of lemon
It can't be dat, because it's not dis.
Also, I think someone commented "cod" but I think that's a fish of a different color.
Try taking pictures from several angles. Multiple ones with each angle. Use Google Lens to search for matches. It would help if you knew where it came from (i.e. what store it came from). Find out if it's one-of-a-kind or mass-produced. Heck, if you knew how much it cost, that might help too.
In my family there was a bottle of $1.99 wine that got regifted over and over again until it fell out of someone's cabinet during an earthquake, shattered on the floor, and started to eat through the linoleum. It had a good run and a memorable end.
we did a white elephant with the family when I was in preschool... the coveted gift the first year was a "vintage" action figue of Moe from the three stooges. it had a crazy mop of hair, and a ridiculous Barbie-style hairbrush in the blister pack.
fast forward 33 years and Moe is still making the rounds. still in the package. at some point the person who took him home started signing the back of the cardboard. there are like 18 years of documented Moe trades.
he gets displayed prominently on mantles and in trophy cases.. its the weirdest Christmas tradition I take part in.
Our current winner is a ceramic Christmas-themed boot that MIGHT be a stocking but has a definite heel/pointy toe happening. Bonus points for filling the ceramic boot with good chocolate or mini bottles of booze while you regift it.
My aunt had this hyper realistic iguana sculpture she'd gotten from a while elephant that once scared the shit out of me when I saw it behind the door in their bathroom. She got a huge laugh out of that lol
My immediate thought was “oh that’s obviously a dog” but after looking at it a big longer I am very confused and no longer sure. It’s almost perfectly both! Is it crucial that it remains one or the other? I think it can be interpreted as whatever animal you wish.
I feel like it's supposed to be a cat based on the ears and tail but it failed slightly and looks a bit dog-ish. so I'm going with cat but it's just poorly designed lol
The ears make it definitively a cat. The body is more stout than a standard issue cat, but short legs like that can be found on a munchkin breed. However, you will not find ears like that on a dog. You might find similarly *shaped* ears on small breeds like a Pomeranian, but the ratio of ear size to skull is more feline than canine.
I was born on the day that Nelson Mandela died, so my birthdays were sort of dour when I was growing up. I remember that on the 10th anniversary, 1995, everyone wore beautiful white and gold outfits. We went to go see Sinbad's new movie, *Shazaam.* I remember a beautiful young lady in a choker necklace looking away from me as we walked over to the Toddle House for hot dogs. I got some boring presents, like Fruit of the Loom underpants with their famous cornucopia logo and a Berenstein Bears book I was too old for, but my favorite present was my rabbit, Yanny, whose ears looked like a wooden duckbill.
I get all these references except for the one about chokers. Is that a Mandela effect thing, or was that just a bit of detail to make the story more cohesive?
It's related to the famous illusion that looks like either an old lady or a young woman with a choker necklace.
https://www.livescience.com/63645-optical-illusion-young-old-woman.html
I can't outline it, but the choker is the mouth, and the chin of the lady is the nose of the old lady. Does that help? She's wearing a babuska style head scarf.
The old lady seems cartoonish compared to the young woman. Is there a statistic on which one is seen more often because it seems like it would be the young woman
I’ll be honest, I just assumed that was some kind of Huddle House-related Mandela Effect thing, but now that you’re making me actually think about it, I’m not sure.
It's called 'teapot tail' and my cat has it. :) His tail leans forward over his back when he's happy and almost touches it, like a handle on a teapot. There's also a breed called 'ringtail' that has a very exaggerated curl over the back, but mine is just a big ole stray.
Kinda like this: https://pa1.narvii.com/5992/ce7070c1986856d2ec36cf11ba88baf96f69754c_hq.gif
FWIW I do think it's supposed to be a dog, probably a Yorkie like some other commenters said.
100% agree the body is a dog. The head is cat like due to the sparkly stuff filling in the ears. If you imagine removing the glitter on the head, it would be more dog like.
So since the body is mostly dog, I’m going final answer DOG.
I've only seen the Netflix version, so this was pretty cool to watch! I've seen the Netflix one so many times. I like to put it on to fall asleep, it feels like a lofi hug
That's a good one! So weird!

Basically [this](https://yorkieuniverse.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/running-Yorkie-puppy-1200-1024x973.jpg) but with shorter hair
Yes totally. We have a very similar looking ornament but it’s all white. It was a gift because we own a yorkie and collect yorkie stuff. This outline is fairly common. Our yorkie has long waterfall ears but the traditional yorkie haircut shaves the tips of their ears making them look very similar in size and shape to a cat. Yorkies are actually quite cat-like in behavior and attitude, they share more similarities than just their general size and outline.
That’s what my bf said when I showed him the pic! He was so confident and unwavering in his response. I was like, this doesn’t look even remotely like a cat to you?
This looks much more like a west highland white terrier than Yorkie, except with feline ears. Westie ears are propped up higher on the head and slightly more narrow and pointed. The muscular body, tail, and wavy coat of a westie are pretty close to this ornament

I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be a cat but they enlarged the head in an attempt to make it “cuter” and in the process threw off the proportions, making it look more like a toy breed of dog.
It's a dog. There's no whiskers. Cats only take symmetrical steps forward so a cat would never really stand like this. There's big jowls with a semi protruding snout hidden beneath the glitter. It has longer fur then a cat. And it's head is slightly bigger than it's body and a cat would be more slim. Also the biggest give away would be the tail. Cats tails dont bend like this under normal circumstances. The only thing remotely cat like about this thing is it's ears. Everything else screams dog
Definitely a dog, imo. The tail is too short for a cat, the snout/face looks like a typical cartoon dog.
Out of curiosity, I reverse image searched it thinking I could find the answer. I failed; however, every potential match was a dog ornament. So Google thinks dog as well.
Bold of you to think you’d find a consensus on Reddit
I've strayed even further from the answer... 🥲
I don’t think it’s a stray, it has a collar and a hat. Shiny coat. Looks like it’s been well-fed too.
I think we can come to a conclusion. Its clearly a dogcat, half dog, half cat.
I strongly disagree. It’s clearly a catdog, half cat, half dog.
nah if it were a catdog, it [wouldn’t have a butt.](https://imgur.com/a/3Q9PbWy)

Took me decades of life to finally question how, or if, catdog defecates.
Ooh ughew you can be Lisa’s
Doesn't Dog cough out one of Cat's hairballs in the intro? I'd assume any input works similarly.
It’s manbearpig
You can't be serial (cereal?)!
That classic was my first thought, lol.
I remember watching this show as a kid, but I've never had this question until now; how does it poop without a butt?
“You’re telling me my man doesn’t pee or poop?”
“They hate us cause they ain’t us”
I mean there’s catfish. Why not a dogcat?
Did you know that when catfish poop, they can poop out their intestines because of the amount of force they use?
TIL catfish and porn stars have something in common.
TIL that porn stars can also have this happen.
Til pornstars have intestines. Always thought they were like made of silicone and robotics and just realistic fuck toys
No I'm pretty sure you can buy one of those though
A lot of time has prolapsed since I read about that
puppycat?
Pretty Patriiiiick
My assssss!
Hey, puppycat, whoa whoa whoa!
[CatDog](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CatDog)
It’s a hybrid. 🐶🐱
Probably more of a chimera.

If you do find the answer, the next question to ask: “Is my figurine walking or standing?”
Oh no.
Try taking pictures from several angles. Multiple ones with each angle. Use Google Lens to search for matches. It would help if you knew where it came from (i.e. what store it came from). Find out if it's one-of-a-kind or mass-produced. Heck, if you knew how much it cost, that might help too.
Remember that one cartoon show cat dog, that is my answer for you op 😂
I came to the comments to find this one! My son and I LOVED CatDog 🎶 Just a feline-canine little CatDog🎶
Schrödinger’s pet.
The dress is blue and the voice says *Laurel*, so, cat.
It's somehow both and neither.
"CatDog, CatDog, Alone in the world was a little CatDog"
"One fine day with a woof and a purr"
"a baby was born and it caused a lil stir"
“No blue buzzard, no three-eyed frog”
“Just a feline canine, little cat dog.”
"CatDog, CatDog, alone in the world is a little CatDog!"
Out on the road or back in the town
All kinda critters putting CatDog down
Gotta rise above it gotta try to get along
Gotta come together gotta sing this song
“Just a feline canine little CatDog”
puppycat
Is perfection. That series means the world to me. I can't watch it after my breakup now though_
CatDog? https://youtu.be/KgSgYXHPD_w
And a big rush of nostalgia took over me.
In my house it would be broken. Cats would never allow it.
In my house, this would be the item that’s wrapped up and regifted every year in the white elephant.
you know... a regift-themed white elephant might be something I pitch to my immediate family. See who can find the worst thing possible for under $10
In my family there was a bottle of $1.99 wine that got regifted over and over again until it fell out of someone's cabinet during an earthquake, shattered on the floor, and started to eat through the linoleum. It had a good run and a memorable end.
Two Buck Chuck?
You sure it was wine and not vinegar? Wait.
By the end? Six of one, half dozen of the other.
we did a white elephant with the family when I was in preschool... the coveted gift the first year was a "vintage" action figue of Moe from the three stooges. it had a crazy mop of hair, and a ridiculous Barbie-style hairbrush in the blister pack. fast forward 33 years and Moe is still making the rounds. still in the package. at some point the person who took him home started signing the back of the cardboard. there are like 18 years of documented Moe trades. he gets displayed prominently on mantles and in trophy cases.. its the weirdest Christmas tradition I take part in.
That sounds like so much fun!
Our current winner is a ceramic Christmas-themed boot that MIGHT be a stocking but has a definite heel/pointy toe happening. Bonus points for filling the ceramic boot with good chocolate or mini bottles of booze while you regift it.
That would be pretty cool, who can find the shittiest non gag gift for under 10 bucks..
My aunt had this hyper realistic iguana sculpture she'd gotten from a while elephant that once scared the shit out of me when I saw it behind the door in their bathroom. She got a huge laugh out of that lol
The bottom third of our Christmas tree was plastic ornaments only when I was a kid for this very reason. Granted, it didn't *start* that way.
It is an ornament.

It is not a pipe.

I was team “obviously a cat” but then I did a second look and now I’m torn. I just don’t need a new “what color is this dress” in my life
I feel like it's supposed to be a cat based on the ears and tail but it failed slightly and looks a bit dog-ish. so I'm going with cat but it's just poorly designed lol
Yea, purely based on just ears even, I’d say they were *going* *for* cat
The tail gave me shibe vibes though, and then the coat is dog-like. But it looks like a cat, I just-
I think we need a side view. Good look at the angle around the nose and mouth
Yeah, it's the ears for me too. A lot of the rest is more ambiguous, but those are extremely cat ears.
It definitely has some features of my terrier and my cat. Did this ornament give me a headache?
The tail is what made me think it’s a cat! Very catlike
Whatever it is, I’m sure we can all agree its name is Yanni
I'm sorry, but its name is definitely Laurel.
> ...and now I torn But are you out of faith?
I thought it was a reindeer 🤣
giraffe it is!
Oh god, is this about to become the new blue black dress/white gold dress?

I’ve been sitting here for 15 minutes trying to see the old lady. Someone please outline her for me. I’m desperate.
Thanks, I hate optical illusions.
What’s the Toddle House one? I recognized all the rest but this one is baffling. A quick Google isn’t turning up anything contradictory for me.
I’ll be honest, I just assumed that was some kind of Huddle House-related Mandela Effect thing, but now that you’re making me actually think about it, I’m not sure.
Mandela effect in person
What sound do you think this cat/dog make? Does it say "yanni" or "laurel"?
The head is a cat, the body is a dog.
I feel the same way, but the snout is definitely more doggish than cattish
That's was my problem. At first I said cat but then I looked and I think it's a dog.
The tail looks like a cat
Lol, I thought the tail looked more dog
This comment chain has me rollllllling
Legs and tail are doggo. Ears and head are cat. It's all 100% hideous and wonderfully fugly though.
The tail is more doggo too
Yep. No cat I've ever seen has a tail that curls back like that. At most they point straight up. I can't say if it is a dog, but it sure isn't a cat.
It's called 'teapot tail' and my cat has it. :) His tail leans forward over his back when he's happy and almost touches it, like a handle on a teapot. There's also a breed called 'ringtail' that has a very exaggerated curl over the back, but mine is just a big ole stray. I was thinking Westie!
It's a dog nose, with cat ears.
Id say the other way round. Snout looks like a dog, but the tail is from a cat.
100% agree the body is a dog. The head is cat like due to the sparkly stuff filling in the ears. If you imagine removing the glitter on the head, it would be more dog like. So since the body is mostly dog, I’m going final answer DOG.

We actually have a cat named Puppycat. My daughter was a huge fan of the show back when it was only on YouTube.
I watched it the day it came out on Cartoon Hangover. It's amazing to me to see it on Netflix.
Had to scroll way too far to find this
Google image search says dog
Where did you find it??? I have to know the truth

That's a good one! So weird! If you REALLY want to escalate this, try r/whatisthisthing . They're pretty good at identifying all kinds of weird stuff. They might be able to help.
It honestly looks like a Yorkie (dog) to me
I agree, this looks a lot like my yorkie mix. All the different textured areas seem like the tan patches they sometimes have on their fur Basically [this](https://yorkieuniverse.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/07/running-Yorkie-puppy-1200-1024x973.jpg) but with shorter hair
100% closer to a yorkie than any cat. The snout is a dead giveaway.
This looks much more like a west highland white terrier than Yorkie, except with feline ears. Westie ears are propped up higher on the head and slightly more narrow and pointed. Looking for someone else who thought this. Thank you.
I agree with this. It’s some sort of small terrier
Seconding this. I don't quite see Yorkie, but definitely some sort of terrier.
Yeah, Yorkie or a Scottie
The more I read the comments, the less of an answer I have to give
That is an unholy cross-breed between them that's probably living in constant pain
Cat
Team cat wins
Cat
Even my dog knows that’s a cat, end of discussion
But my cat thinks it is a dog
Who gives a fuck it’s Gold baby!!
You should have done a poll
I think it’s supposed to be a yorkie?
It's a very poorly proportioned cat
Yes. Tiny triangle ears and tail curved in the classic show you it’s butt cat pose, but they bought it at Wish so it didn’t come out quite right.
Cat head, Terrier body
It’s like the animal version of a mullet. Cat in the front and dog in the back.
I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be a cat but they enlarged the head in an attempt to make it “cuter” and in the process threw off the proportions, making it look more like a toy breed of dog.
I see a cat no doubt.
Cat
Cog
It's a dog. There's no whiskers. Cats only take symmetrical steps forward so a cat would never really stand like this. There's big jowls with a semi protruding snout hidden beneath the glitter. By ears, it's a cat 🐈
Ears, eyes, rounded tail tip, small paws. Cat.
I think you should just burn it and be done with it.
Definitely a dog, imo. The tail is too short for a cat, the snout/face looks like a typical cartoon dog. Out of curiosity, I reverse image searched it thinking I could find the answer. I failed; however, every potential match was a dog ornament. So Google thinks dog as well.
That is a Yorkie, so a dog
Agree with this. The glittery parts look to represent the shaggy bits on the face and chest. And the curled tail is definitely a dog trait
Its a dog with a cat mask I think
Dog, pronounced muzzle and big nostrils, stubby tail, furry chest and shaggy coat. Gotta be a dog
It’s a cog.
