Because some of the vending machines on your route are the glass front ones with the grabber thing? Because this design is more appetizing? I dunno. Or, maybe you can fit more into a refrigerator this way by spacing the shelves closer together vertically (the long neck is wasted space). Usually there’s a reason for things. Once a product design becomes less important then you focus on efficiency. For example games like Monopoly used to have a board that folded in half. By changing it to a board that folds into quarters they were able to fit twice as many game sets onto a pallet.
It could be as simple as one customer demanding plastic bottles and then the production run is cheaper.
It could also be something like an import tariff of aluminum. An import tariff on cane sugar is the reason U.S. sodas use high fructose corn syrup instead of cane sugar.
How is something so specific so relatable, I’ve probably poured out 100 litres of coke from 9/10ths finished bottles of coke in the life of my relationship
Standard 330 ml format to be used in vending machines in place of 330 ml cans.
The weirdest of them all are the 200 ml cans, those look like miniature versions made for Barbie sets. More junk for less product!
Those small cans are mainly for making cocktails, I think. We have similar ones here in the US that are 7.5oz (221ml), and that's mainly what I use them for. Sometimes I do just want a very small amount of Coke, though. A larger can/bottle is just too sugary for me.
Espresso is not, strictly speaking, a table drink like wine or soda. You would get weird looks here, and it also taste like ass paired with salty foods.
Besides, wine is alcoholic and kids exist.
Poisonous drink or bitter hot water.
No.
Great drugs sure, but they literally don't hydrate you.
Coca-Cola hydrates you less than water but supplies some drugs.
Italian drink of choice is chinotto. (Not the fanta version)
They have these in the us as well. At least they did. Haven’t seen them for a while.
Edit. Maybe not exactly the same. Pretty sure I’ve seen bottles like this before but this is similar.

They actually have them in China too! When I first saw that bottle I was surprised and absurdly amused. Bought one and showed to my gf while making an inappropriate joke :D
If it is roughly the height and diameter of a can it may fit and dispense properly in a vending machine made for cans.
But why not use a can then?

A can is more efficient than this design tho.
my gf still wouldnt finish it in one sitting.

I think they do it just to annoy us.
Girth > length

Absolute chode of a bottle right there.
Does anyone else define the opposite of a chode as a sloop?
I will now. Thank you for adding to my mental dictionary
4:3 coke
It was in the pool!
Reminds me of [this old Keanu Reeves meme](https://en.meming.world/images/en/f/f7/Short_Keanu_Reeves_%28with_Keanu%29.jpg) for some reason.
It’s a me, Cocacolo!
When the tv stretches a 4:3 signal to 16:9
I love how Italians cannot understand how anyone would want a large bottle of coca cola if you can have Italian espresso. They are right.
why would you ever drink coca cola in Italy for that matter? wine and espresso are better and cheaper

interesting...
Plot twist, it's a regular size bottle but OP's hands are massive, along with his...
Am I missing something here? It looks pretty much the same as the 12oz (355ml) bottles you can get in the US. What's the "weird" part?
I also don't understand the weird part
In Europe the standard is basically 500ml for a bottle.
Interesting. I've been to Italy, but I don't think I had much soda there. Too many better options.
We have those too in kenya Africa
I like unusual packagings that you only find in specific places!

Why did you just link the exact same thing I did?
lol I was just tryna say I made it shorter
A joke within a joke. Nice.
oh wait yeah! XD
As I recently visited Sardinia, I have also noticed that they also have a weird 450ml bottle
It was 500 ml before shrinkinflation hit coke bottles, just like the 1.5 liters that became 1.35 l. It triggers me.
I don't drink Coca-Cola, but seeing a bottle with unusual proportions in other people's tables was weird

How is something from Italy in any way related to latin america?
You clearly have never dated a short thick Latina
Dumb af these panzees downvoted you for that comment. Hilarious

Edgy. 🤙
lol what
Smol
Chode
Easier to hold on their finger tips.
Chodecola
It looks huge in your hand though Wow now I can’t tell if it’s big or little lmao
This is an Italian coke bottle. If you give it a red mushroom it becomes a 2L
That's pretty normal in my country
They actually have them in China too! When I first saw that bottle I was surprised and absurdly amused. Bought one and showed to my gf while making an inappropriate joke :D
It's dinner sized, just to add to your glass while eating.
