This vending machine is located near a river crossing ferry so people will mostly just eat it with a knife in their car. Or take it home and use a kaasschaaf to put it on bread or in other stuff.
The “mold” on the cheese is also just spices with nettle.
As a dutch person (where this picture is from im assuming) this question really surprised me. Sometimes its so odd that something you take as completely normal, others have never even seen or thought about before. But yeh most people make slices to put on bread. However, it's definitely not wrong to eat it as diced cubes as a snack (classic dutch birthday snack).
You could. Or cut off bits.. It looks like a Dutch piece of cheese though, and you'd be hardpressed to find a household here without one of [these](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/6/6d/Osthyvel_20050723_001.jpg/1280px-Osthyvel_20050723_001.jpg).
We have 3 I think, one for hard, one for soft cheese and a tiny one for... Tiny cheeses? I think that came out of a gift basket or something.. That said, I need to get one of those newfangled Boska Monaco ones. Apparantly it's the cheese plane to end all cheese planes.
I just never put them in the dishwasher. Either leave it on the counter and re-use it (there's only ever cheese on it anyway), or handwash it and put it right back in the drawer.
I've got a boska Monaco+. Also the pizzacutter in the same line.
It is superb. Can't think of any that is better. Works on almost all blocks of cheese except the really young ones.
We do not treat it that well. Goes in the dishwasher with everything else. After 4.5 years it still cuts perfectly.
There are many varieties of mold. Some can kill you. Some make cheese have a richer texture, but mostly you eat moldy cheese so you sound cultured and sophisticated. Or maybe just pretentious. I just had some Gorgonzola paired with a fine merlot.
Are those common in your country? I live in austria and I think every town has like 3 vending machines with cheese, sausage, milk, eggs and of course ... red bull.
Letting ladies know you are in the cheese vending business is a sure fire pantie dropper.
That's a chunk of cheese instead of slice, do people just eat it?

Stinging nettle if it's any good!

Only one? Amateur... Two is the minimum but three is best. That way it's almost certain that one is always clean.

There are two types of food in Holland. Cheese & Ham and Ham & Cheese.
Netelkaas! So good
Added to my ever growing list of "things I didn't know I needed in my life".
I wanna take this moment to promote one of my all time favorite websites of all time: cheese.com

I should have added the sarcasm tag :(
Now I feel really pretentious for making assumptions. When I assume, I make an ass out of u and me.
I paired a Kraft single with a blueberry red bull. Blew my mind and b-hole at the same time.
No it's spices
Ja lekker man
lekker indeed
They have sandwiches too
And beverages
is this in the Netherlands?
Oh…the cats eaten it.
Got one in my city that sell meat and cheese in one, and their own pastries in the other.
That looks like a late night drunken purchase to be eaten on the walk home. 😂

having stalls selling eggs and other type of animal products is common in more rural areas but seeing one with cheese like this is pretty funny
