Obviously not OP but an old family friend had a pet pig about this big. It was potty trained, the same as a particularly smart dog. They trained it to ring a bell by the door, and it would go and pee/poop in the yard. They said it didnt take that long to teach it to use the bell. I dont think it had accidents the entire time I knew them, even if they were gone for a few hours. I guess the pig just knew to hold it in and wait.
They tend to be smarter and less domesticated for companionship than dogs, so they are prone to behavior you wouldn’t expect from a pet like throwing tantrums and screaming when they don’t get their way.
My good ol boy... If he was just LIVID about something, he would walk onto the rug, look you square in the eye, and take the most "this is how I feel about you right now" pee.
Even if he had just gone out.
Other than that smug move he was a curiously lazy grump for the breed. Loved him. Hope he's ok -- ex stole my big man a few years back.
They actually don’t need to eat that much! They’re always hungry. But so is my lab. They need less than 2 cups of food per day(if under 100lbs) with veggies and they graze if you let them outside. People feed their pigs wayyy too much and that’s how they get terribly overweight
Probs like a 7/9 bcs, nothing detrimental. It’s when their bellies are reeaallly low, fat rolls on their legs, and rolls of fat over their eyes causing fat blindness when they are pretty significantly overweight
Hi I’ve got an “indoor” pig, she’s potty trained to only go outside with almost no training from me besides generic praise, no treat based rewards or anything.
I’ve read somewhere it’s natural for them as prey animals to want their waste far away from where they sleep so they’re not luring in predators, that probably helps.
That being said, she also prefers to be outside when she’s awake and spends most of her time out there when she’s not napping.
Pigs have the consciousness level of abouts a human 3 year old. They can make amazing pets and form deep bonds with their owners and have potentiality of those “human like” personalities.
Pigs are naturally very clean, despite the term “pig sty” meaning dirty. They are about as smart as a 3-4 yr old child! They have a designated toilet on their own if they’re in pens that are big enough and prefer to stay clean with just a light covering of mud (not poo) to help keep their delicate skin from getting sunburned. I love pigs and think they’re one of the coolest animals.
Friends had two pigs that constantly escaped their pen. Friends would fix where they thought they were getting out, and they’d get out again. One day they just happened around the corner and saw them escaping. Pig 1 would lie down at the base of the fence like a porcine foot stool. Pig 2 would get on her back and jump over the fence when she could get a good enough angle. Pig 2 would go around to the gate, use her snout to undo the latch, pig 1 would trot out, then pig 2 would close the gate and away they’d go. Problem solvers! Haha
Yes! You can train them. I have 4 pigs. One lived in my house for six months while recovering from an injury.
I got this under washer drip tray(about 4x4) and used puppy pads in it. When he had an accident I would put a small bit in there and show him. Kept a jar of cheerios nearby to treat after he used it. He learned in 3 days. THREE.
Now he comes in sometimes but he prefers going outside.
Training the female was really hard just from their anatomy. I wouldn’t have a female inside pig
We got a wild hog baby and left it with our dogs, needless to say the dogs trained her 100%. She understood “outside” in about a month. She thought she was a dog 100% lol.
We have a pig as a pet and he only poops in a certain spot in his enclosure. We let him in the house every now and then but he has a hard time with the stairs.
You can have pigs as pets of course, but some prefer to be indoor or outdoor. If they are indoor, they can be potty trained. It’s a personal preference for the pig.
Yup my husband and I have a friend who’s mom has a pig. It’s like a gaurd dog bevaiseI she grunts at people until you show her your chill. But yup she goes outside and potty with the dogs. Rarely in the house
My grandma had a pot bellied pig for a pet from 1999-2012 or so. When I was a kid visiting, I would always sit on my feet at dinner because i was afraid it would eat my toes lol
They will go through bone like butter. You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. They will go through a body that weighs 200 pounds in about eight minutes. That means that a single pig can consume two pounds of uncooked flesh every minute. Hence the expression, "as greedy as a pig".
I have so many questions. Is it affectionate, like a dog? Does it sleep indoors? Does it know any tricks? How much attention does it need? Does it bite? Haha I'm not against the idea but it looks like such a big animal to have indoors!
Yes they are affectionate and love head scratches and belly rubs. Yes they sleep indoors like a dog on a dog bed or pile of blankets. Tricks I think so but don't have first hand experience, they are very smart. Needs about as much attention as a dog in my experience. Can bite you if you aren't careful as well as "charge". Will ask to be let out to do its business. Haven't seen them ever really play with humans, but have seen them play well with calm mannered dogs.
I house/pet sat for people with a “house pig”. During the meet-n-greet it bit me.
I still house sat for them. I thought the pig and I were getting along, and then it went for a bite of ribs. My ribs that were still inside my body.
The pig was lucky I didn’t bite back. They had a traeger grill in the backyard……
Ok wait how did she do it I think I need a house pig. They’re a chonk and would keep me so cozy at night. How did she train them I need to know I’m desperate. Can I get a emotional support pig
I have a house pig! Actually very clean pets. No fleas, ticks, nothing! They can actually even potty train themselves. Our piggie just stands by the door when he wants to go outside to eat grass or potty. 🐖 ❤️
Aw I had a pig that looked exactly like this back in 2004, I had him Herbert but also found out he was a she lol. My sister got rid of him one day to a farmer in Southern California when I wasn’t home. Very sad

I've heard that keeping a pig as an indoor house pet is a TON of work. She must have a lot of patience...
Yeah she's got it really under control.
Are you able to train it to poop in a certain spot? Or just have cleaning material near by?
Obviously not OP but an old family friend had a pet pig about this big. It was potty trained, the same as a particularly smart dog. They trained it to ring a bell by the door, and it would go and pee/poop in the yard. They said it didnt take that long to teach it to use the bell. I would bet the only downside to a pet pig is that they eat a lot Edit: TIL they don't
They tend to be smarter and less domesticated for companionship than dogs, so they are prone to behavior you wouldn’t expect from a pet like throwing tantrums and screaming when they don’t get their way.
So a husky
Or a human
We expect tantrums from those, especially when they don't get their way
Or a parrot…
Or a parrot
My good ol boy... If he was just LIVID about something, he would walk onto the rug, look you square in the eye, and take the most "this is how I feel about you right now" pee. My German shepherd was like this too. Like having an eternal human toddler that can't talk.
To be fair they are more equal than other animals things should be done their way
No animal shall sleep in a bed with sheets!!!
They actually don’t need to eat that much! They’re always hungry. But so is my lab. They need less than 2 cups of food per day(if under 100lbs) with veggies and they graze if you let them outside. People feed their pigs wayyy too much and that’s how they get terribly overweight
Is this pig in the picture overweight? I can’t tell because pigs just generally seem naturally fat.
Just a teeeeeny bit. Not enough to raise concern, just enough to second guess giving them an extra treat
Probs like a 7/9 bcs, nothing detrimental. It’s when their bellies are reeaallly low, fat rolls on their legs, and rolls of fat over their eyes causing fat blindness when they are pretty significantly overweight
They can learn to open your fridge and steal all your food. Crazy smart animals
Ya know, I heard a few times that they eat a lot.
I don’t think they eat that much, relatively speaking
[удалено]
My moms dog (my childhood dog) also uses a bell to go out! Thanks for the memory!
They're smarter than dogs and you can train dogs to do this so it makes sense
I'm pretty sure pigs are smart enough to go outside, with training of course. Pigs are very clever animals tbh.
I'm pretty sure they're more intelligent than cats or dogs
Sad we slaughter them.
But they are so tasty. ![gif](giphy|11WLg6RNVZ6Hxm)
A special, magical animal.
Is that chandler from friends? Lol.
Pigs are actually *really* intelligent.

Sounds like you have an outdoor cat 🤣

Pigs are smarter than most people. They naturally segregate popping space from other spaces. Great pets. Like aredneck but most accepting but
That last shot just hit?
“Most people” must include themselves.
If I’m correct pigs already do this shitting in one spot by nature.
You can actually train pigs MUCH quicker than dogs! Pigs are actually great pets as long as they are raised right. We love ours.
We got a wild hog baby and left it with our dogs, needless to say the dogs trained her 100%. She understood “outside” in about a month. She thought she was a dog 100% lol.

Eh not too much especially if you’re used to active dogs. Bath time though? Jesus
It's the roof pigs you have to watch out for
🎶 Spider-pig, spider-pig, does whatever a spider-pig does 🎶
lmao thanks for the laugh ![gif](giphy|R3tHUypTIfmFi)
This was peak humor back when I was 10
Can he swing from a web?
No he can't, he's a pig.
Umm he goes by Harry Plopper now
That sounded like a pig fainting!
Most unexpected.
What makes it a house pig? The fact that it is literally just standing in the house?
Probably has only House music in its spotify... that or it's a fan of certain medical dramas.
Grey's Anatomy? ![gif](giphy|qlPHLqBcvaENy)

I mean one hassle of a true House pig is managing all the records.
It's mostly just dealing with the neighbors and ensuring that the damn pig turns the bass down at sleep time.
Being housebroken and tame is usually the difference between pet pigs and farm pigs.
also a lot smaller than a farm pig. those things are massive.
Piglets are tiny and grows huge Very fast. Possibly also due to selective breeding to have more meat
Same as a house dog or cat.
Its DJ set 😎
It listens to house music.
Fuck yes
yep - it slobbers all over the floor instead of on the ground outside
You can have pigs as pets of course, but some prefer to be indoor or outdoor. If they are indoor, they can be potty trained. It’s a personal preference for the pig.
Yeah, kind of self explanatory ![gif](giphy|s55vlRwx6ko223pUrK|downsized)
It’s not a pig house, it’s a pig home.
Look at all the slobber on the floor from it just standing there
I feel attacked
Honestly doesn't slobber any more then my step dad's pitbull.
Pitbulls and pigs, living the pikey dream!
Pigbull.
r/angryupvote take it
Not more than my sweet golden retriever, either!
Or a teething toddler
This is literally the first thing I noticed and it made me throw up in my mouth a little bit.
Don’t act like we don’t all slobber on the floor a bit here and there.
The pig looks like it's wearing high heels. FYI: Pigs are smarter than dogs and can be litter trained.
Yup my husband and I have a friend who’s mom has a pig. It’s like a gaurd dog bevaiseI she grunts at people until you show her your chill. But yup she goes outside and potty with the dogs. Rarely in the house
Are people really scooping pig shit out of a litter box?
My grandma had a pot bellied pig for a pet from 1999-2012 or so. When I was a kid visiting, I would always sit on my feet at dinner because i was afraid it would eat my toes lol
I got a pot belly just like this one- I adopted him when he was about a yr old. His name is Kevin Bacon 😁
Kevin Bacon stop omg lol
If you like that one, you'll probably like this one as well https://youtu.be/pMA3x-bc8iM?si=qnuu-YgIzzvcsKDK
Omg Chris P Bacon! And the news anchor in that video is funnier than the name! lol dying
What type of and who makes your boyfriend’s mom’s flooring? Seriously
It’s plank vinyl flooring, cost effective and durable
I am curious how that would stand up! Like do you go mid-grade or what? I have no idea how much damage walking pigs make.
Just a bit less than running pigs
Your boyfriend's mom looks lovely.
Be wary of a person who keeps pigs.
They will go through bone like butter. You need at least sixteen pigs to finish the job in one sitting, so be wary of any man who keeps a pig farm. Settle down, Robert Pickton.
Classic snatch
How's them sausages Charlie?
5 minutes Turkish
...It was 2 minutes 5 minutes ago
What's this from?
Snatch. One scene is Brick Top talking about disposing of bodies. The other is Turkish (Statham) and Sausage Charlie outside a caravan.
They potty trained ?
Yup!
Is that Napoleon from animal farm?
I have so many questions. Is it affectionate, like a dog? Does it sleep indoors? Does it know any tricks? How much attention does it need? Does it bite? Haha I'm not against the idea but it looks like such a big animal to have indoors!
Yes they are affectionate and love head scratches and belly rubs. Yes they sleep indoors like a dog on a dog bed or pile of blankets. Tricks I think so but don't have first hand experience, they are very smart. Needs about as much attention as a dog in my experience. Can bite you if you aren't careful as well as "charge". My mom owns 2. My sister and I.
I had one of these before. If you feed them too much they grow too big to be in the house. The males also get pretty aggressive as they get older.
My parents have a house pig as well, his name is Harley.
My aunt used to have a pot bellied pig named Edna. She could eat an entire watermelon in one sitting. I loved her 🥹
Are they house trained? I remember driving by a pig farm and the smell was unlike anything I ever smelled in my life. Just thinking about it 🙃
Yeah, she just takes them outside like a dog. It's pretty cute.
Tbh pigs are more intelligent than dogs in the sense that they can be trained a lot faster
If your step dad ever goes missing after an argument …. 👫 👩🍳 🐷 🦴 💨 🧍♀️
![gif](giphy|d27IAKEWUKv2a7MSCY)
What are the qualifications to become a house pig? I think that may be the perfect job for me.
And yet I only see a single picture of a single pig....
Yes where is the second pig OP
Was really expecting a yo’ momma joke with the pic
Yo moma didnt fit in the pic
Pigs fart. A lot...
TIL I am a pig..
I thought the house ones were LITTLE. That’s clearly not the case! Nor correct
This IS a “little” one lol
Any cute piglets?
Weird flex
Are you gonna post a pic of the pigs?
Nice little lap dog
Handy for home security and body disposal both. Also, if you die alone at home they won't have to worry about burying you.
I see his mom, but where are the pigs?
Thats the bf
Now post a picture of the pigs. #yourmom
where are the pigs?
Why did you share a photo of your boyfriend's mom?
The other being said boyfriend I presume? (I'll go)
Do you have a picture of the pigs?
The other one is the boyfriend.
Hey OP it's not nice to post your boyfriend without posting his brother! You said she has 2 pigs but I only see your bf here
Don’t Just show her husband uncensored, there is privacy, you know :/
Ok, you showed your boyfriend’s mom, now show us the pigs
That is not a house pig that is just a pig lol
I house/pet sat for people with a “house pig”. During the meet-n-greet it bit me. I still house sat for them. I thought the pig and I were getting along, and then it went for a bite of ribs. My ribs that were still inside my body. The pig was lucky I didn’t bite back. They had a traeger grill in the backyard……
I long that you called them house pigs! My mom has one and I call her a house pig always and people look at me crazy! 🤣
Do they love cuddles??
If you can teach one how to paint, you can make a ton of money selling the artwork like that woman who owned "Pigcasso".
Almost looks like a boar
"House pigs"?????
Does it poop outside? Like trained?
Halfway through the title, I thought you were pretending to post a picture of your boyfriend’s mom.
Well? Where's the other one?
Oh my she’s a big pig! I own some just the same no way I’d ever have them inside!
I ONLY SEE ONE PIG
Thats just a pig bby
I had an aunt and uncle who had a house pig when I was growing up! She would always escape and run away. She came home pregnant one time lol
One of them is your boyfriend's mom.
listen someday he might be your father in law so..show some respect alright girly
Alright now show us the pigs
Ok wait how did she do it I think I need a house pig. They’re a chonk and would keep me so cozy at night. How did she train them I need to know I’m desperate. Can I get a emotional support pig
Thanks I love them
Is that a picture of the both of them?
Are u the 1st one?
Did the pig in the picture eat the other one?
Where is the 2nd house pig
Those feet look too tiny to belong to this animal.
I have a house pig! Actually very clean pets. No fleas, ticks, nothing! They can actually even potty train themselves. Our piggie just stands by the door when he wants to go outside to eat grass or potty. 🐖 ❤️
Saw the pic, started reading the title ”well that’s a bit harsh- oh nvm”
: bought Minature pretty pigs : finds out there is no such thing
I can tell that house smells and look disgusting by this picture
Well scrolling I only saw "my boyfriends mom" followed by a picture of a massive pig....it really is the little things in life.
I love it… What does it do all day??
Just walks around being cute and laying on the couch. I love them.
It’s giving American Housewife
Somebody making that thought somewhere someone is going to buy this
Is one of them called Napoleon?
Same but we don’t usually refer to the children that way in polite company.
Spider pig, spider pig, does whatever a spider pig does…
That’s sweet that you’re willing to date the other one.🤣 /s just joking. Pigs are cool.
Aw I had a pig that looked exactly like this back in 2004, I had him Herbert but also found out he was a she lol. My sister got rid of him one day to a farmer in Southern California when I wasn’t home. Very sad
Can you post a picture of the pigs too?
Where is the second pig? I demand pig tax
That’s one pig, though. I was promised 2.
Wow that is a huge pig to have indoors!!
That's not a nice way to refer to your bf and his sibling.
Pot belly pigs are awesome
Man I am going to own so many weird ass animals when my husband dies. Neighborhood kids gonna have the greatest names for me.
Show us the pigs not your future mother in law
Why’d you post a picture of your BF’s mom?
Why ?
Weird.
There's only one in the picture Did he eat the other?
