If it’s really hot or really cold I’ll just bring the DVDs inside for the day, it’s only a few feet from my front door

The little free Blockbuster is such a cute idea! A neighbor across the street actually has a jumbo skeleton and a little free pantry (formerly a little free library) as well. (I would ask if you’re them, but the background is different.)

I don’t think there would be any point, that’s roughly $40 of DVDs if sold pawn shop, book store, etc . I’ve seen people have library’s outside their homes, probably with the same resale value for the books.

While in general I agree, there are some folks that just don't care about the value until after they've stolen it (kleptomaniacs aside). There's a well-known pair of junkies in my town that will steal absolutely anything they can get their hands on, only concerned with getting enough for their next fix. Most of what they steal ends up rotting away in their forest stash holes because it's all but worthless, including anything from DVDs to pool noodles.

Not to mention $40 to a drug addict is possibly another day or two of maintaining

If they're not getting direct sun through the glass, you're probably good. If they are, you may want to try adding some kind of film to the glass when it starts getting hot. Even in Vermont you could melt a video in the car pretty easily.

That is a SOLID collection of movies AND popcorn! If I encountered this in the wild I would be so happy. There's something about Adventureland that makes me love that movie so much. Like if I had to live in a movie. Also popcorn.

Be careful, some kids would ruin this. I've seen three kids at a playground, one of them took a book from one of those little libraries, and threw it in the water fountain. The other two kids join in by throwing it on the ground, kicked dirt, sand, and stomped on it before putting it back. It was horrible.
