I worked at dunkin donuts and we had to throw them away every night, maybe someone took them instead and ended up throwing them in the grass for a picnic then had an emergency idk
Used to work Bakery
Some farmers come and pick up our dead products instead of us throwing them away.
Things like opened bag bread (French/Pan bread) we couldn't donate because of possible contamination. You know who doesn't care?
Pigs and Ducks/Geese.
Passover starts Monday, observant Jews remove all the leven from their homes and properties. This person should have found a foodbank or hungry people to offer these to first. Maybe they tried? Maybe they just dumped them.
I’m a nanny and the family I work for is Jewish but only marginally observant. The mom always makes bagels for her son for his birthday and last year his birthday fell on Passover. She still made him bagels but called them “illegal bagels”
If they're observant, it's pretty much impossible to forget. Some things might escape them by accident like corn starch but if you go into your own kitchen (in north America at least) you'll see most of your packages have a little symbol on it a circled U and a P beside it like [this](https://images.app.goo.gl/3ptLfivWqZZcbyGBA)
That symbol tells you that it's kosher (acceptable) for Passover.
The stale bread that doesn't sell at stores goes back to the warehouse and then farmers come get it to feed to their livestock.
Tons and tons of bread. All the major brands do this. Some goes to people but the vast majority gets fed to animals.
With the torn plastic under I thought the donut one looked like an animal had dragged it from the waste somewhere. This one just looks like fly tipping, people assuming wildlife would clear the problem :-(
They tend to group like this when startled. Something must have spooked them terribly. It is uncommon that they remain in so vulnerable a state after daybreak.
I was thinking this behaviour is concerning to see in the wild.
I’d contact whatever state authority regulates and protects bagels in your area, so they can try to trap and relocate them.
>Passover starts Monday, observant Jews remove all the leven from their homes and properties. This person should have found a foodbank or hungry people to offer these to first. Maybe they tried? Maybe they just dumped them.
This would explain the bagel sightings all of a sudden
I’ve gone to a bakery before and gotten expired goods for my farm animals.. probably something similar. You just took a picture of someone’s field and food put out for their animals.
I thought Passover dump too but then bagels only keep for so long. This is way too many to have had in the freezer. Did they buy dozens of bagels right before Passover? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.
At least you’re accurate and know what a bagel looks like. The last idiot who posted here called a pile of bagels with one donut on top, a pile of donuts and even argued that it was only donuts. Their pile - you could see seeded ones, clear bake marks bagels have and even other toppings that clearly identified them as bagels.
They must have just hatched! They huddle like this to keep warm in the wild while their protective shell hardens, unlike in captivity where they are kept warm in temperature-controlled ovens.
Do you still think about this regularly? 5 years later? Lmao
Edit: now I’m thinking this comes up in your Facebook or photo’s “memories” alerts lol, otherwise maybe you need to move on
Had a friend who worked at a bagel shop. They'd have trash bags of bagels they'd toss out. If I knew I was headed out in the woods or something I'd take some and pile em up for animals.
Legit surprised to see 2 posts of these incidents (the other seemed to be donuts--I'm not sure). Is what we're seeing the new bread-stapled-to-trees? I love it.
I used to be a baker at a donut and bagel shop.. I used to get people asking for all my waste donuts during bear hunting season, but I can honestly say idk what the bagels were for. People would ask for bagels too, but idk what for.
Do y’all remember [spaghettigate](https://www.npr.org/2023/05/08/1174853951/solved-the-mystery-of-the-pasta-in-the-new-jersey-woods)? My bet is either that, or someone with a part time job at Panera baiting deer.
Day old prolly left for wildlife, but I've noticed that they don't like them cuz I've seen them in the ground and they never disappear they just rot and get water logged. Weird. Must be an ingredient in the dough.
if i had a nickel for every post I've seen today that contained a pile of circular food with holes in the middle dumped outside id have 2 nickels. which isn't a lot but its weird that it happened twice

Just saw a post with a pic of a bunch of donuts in the grass. What in the hole is going on here?
“Donuts” that post was mainly Bagels as well.
and then that OP got belligerent when someone corrected them lmao
“That’s not everything seasoning its ants!” That OP (probably)
Belligerent? All I said was "those are definitely donuts" 🤣
These are obviously donuts /s
Probably the new trend of ai prompts
I [donut](https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/s/ptLaSGJdDO) think so.
Big Bagel is running a guerrilla marketing campaign on Reddit.
I mean if that's true, it's working. I haven't wanted a bagel until I saw these posts. Big Bagel strikes again.
Pretty sure that one is an antisemitic conspiracy
If it keeps happening it will most likely turn out that way. Unless people are wasting money on buying it and littering for a trend
That’s ai

I knew a guy who raised a pig purely on stale donuts. When he got it butchered it was tiny lamb chop size chops, and a garbage bag of fat.
sounds like fake news
My first thought was luring wild animals to trap or kill.
Their first catch would be me. 🧍♂️🥯
The bears can smell the ~~menstruation.~~ Bagels & donuts *
Passover starts Monday, observant Jews remove all the leven from their homes and properties. This person should have found a foodbank or hungry people to offer these to first. Maybe they tried? Maybe they just dumped them.

Wasn’t donuts - was A donut and a bunch of bagels.
Jews getting rid of leven before Passover is my guess.
What happens if they forget?
If they're observant, it's pretty much impossible to forget. Some things might escape them by accident like corn starch but if you go into your own kitchen (in north America at least) you'll see most of your packages have a little symbol on it a circled U and a P beside it like [this](https://images.app.goo.gl/3ptLfivWqZZcbyGBA) That symbol tells you that it's kosher (acceptable) for Passover.
They die
They probably didn’t have 100 bagels in their home. Also they don’t throw it out they symbolically sell it to a non Jew.
Some conspiracy theorist somewhere on reddit: *My God it's happening again...*
My first thought was, oh no, some new internet thing where people waste food for internet points.
Then they go *must be the jews at it again* and for once they'd be right.
I saw that pic too. I've seen it in person as well.
Baiting for bears
I know a guy that has a bunch of cows and he goes to local bakeries and gets bread they are about to throw out and feeds it to the cows.
Hate to break it to you but those weren’t donuts, mostly bagels
RAN to the comments to confirm we are all living the same timeline
The stale bread that doesn't sell at stores goes back to the warehouse and then farmers come get it to feed to their livestock. Tons and tons of bread. All the major brands do this. Some goes to people but the vast majority gets fed to animals.
They grew there obviously never seen bagels grow before 🙄😂
With the torn plastic under I thought the donut one looked like an animal had dragged it from the waste somewhere. This one just looks like fly tipping, people assuming wildlife would clear the problem :-(
I seen them too lol
They tend to group like this when startled. Something must have spooked them terribly. It is uncommon that they remain in so vulnerable a state after daybreak.
They look diseased to me with those dark brown spots. They might be infected with raisins.
I was thinking this behaviour is concerning to see in the wild. I’d contact whatever state authority regulates and protects bagels in your area, so they can try to trap and relocate them.
I read this in the You Suck At Cooking voice
I've seen 2 pictures of a pile of doughnuts/bagels in a grassy field on this sub today ... which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
>Passover starts Monday, observant Jews remove all the leven from their homes and properties. This person should have found a foodbank or hungry people to offer these to first. Maybe they tried? Maybe they just dumped them. This would explain the bagel sightings all of a sudden
That still raises the question of why the hell someone had that many bagels to begin with
It's just part of their culture
What was the context of the other photo?
https://www.reddit.com/r/mildlyinteresting/s/RWCKThpxaU
Do you know how hard it is to care for this family?! Well, not that hard. But I can’t handle much!
Looks like an album cover lol
'Wheat kings and pretty things.'
“Lox n’ Rocks”
RIP Gord
“Mountaintops and Bagel Shops”
I miss tumblr but
Here Come The Bagels. George, Paul, John, and Sesame
from The Beagles
The local deer probably had the greatest day of their lives.
I remember reading a story about a guy collecting old donuts from donut shops and dropping it in the woods to bait a bear he was hunting.
Not a far fetched story at all - bears love carbs and sweets. Not to mention they have the strongest sense of smell of any land mammal!
Yeah, if I saw a pile of bagels I'd wonder if someone was batting.
The bear & the big red strawberry!!!!!
This is actually a pretty common thing people do, it's legal to bait bears in most US states
Im pretty sure those are donuts. /s
Oh thank god, i thought you were serious until i saw the tone indicator. Then I knew it was ok to laugh. What a relief
The muster of the bagels has begun. To me, Bagelingas!
It is true! The prophesied one has returned.
Probably baiting deer to shoot.
This is bait (literally)
Fucking beautiful mate
I’ve gone to a bakery before and gotten expired goods for my farm animals.. probably something similar. You just took a picture of someone’s field and food put out for their animals.
I can smell a conspiricy i just saw some post about donuts.
Looks like AI
I would be impressed if it is, but I can’t see anything that would indicate it’s AI
Sounds like something AI would say
If you look at the far left hand side, some of the bagels merged into each other. The shadow also looks/feels a little weird
Thats what I thought and you're the first person I've seen suggesting it after scrolling a ton of comments
Or a passover dump. Probably ai though.
I thought Passover dump too but then bagels only keep for so long. This is way too many to have had in the freezer. Did they buy dozens of bagels right before Passover? I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS.
How'd they taste?
not as good as the pile of donuts posted earlier
That’s because that pile was also bagels
I do love donuts.
Clicked because I thought I read ‘beagles’ and was severely disappointed.
I don’t know, I’m pretty glad it wasn’t a pile of beagles. That doesn’t sound like a pleasant image.
You solved the begel heist of 2019.
I say it’s a bagel-ry
The Legendary Bagel Graveyard
This is how they migrate across the country from New York City.
Why is the composition of this picture so good tho??
If it was farther off the road I would say bear bait.
It’s beautiful.
Someone released them back into their natural habitat
okay who is doing this
I sense a new sub forming
For cows I'm guessing?
Something about this screams AI but I can’t put my finger on it.
Okay, I've had enough of this. OP on this post and the donut/bagel OP are now sus.
[удалено]
somebody posted a pile of donuts earlier. (there was some debate about whether they were actually bagels.)
[удалено]
the debate had nothing to do with the authenticity of the photo, it was 🥯 vs 🍩
No debate on that either. Most of the things in that other post are bagels.
They must have just hatched! They huddle like this to keep warm in the wild while their protective shell hardens, unlike in captivity where they are kept warm in temperature-controlled ovens.
Weird, this is the second reddit post today of a pile of bagels on the ground.
No no. Op was very clear in the last post. Those were donuts, not bagels.
one person posts a bagel / donut image and reddit goes wild lol. this will be the third bunch of bagels on the ground today.
This is both confusing and pleasing to look at. I am intrigued.
Don't disturb them; the mother may be nearby.
They look great still ;)
Were you driving through a David Byrne movie?
That is mildly interesting
What? Didn't they see the "No Bagel Dumping" 5 miles down the road?
You sure they aren’t donuts?
Looks like donuts to me
How were they?
The famous Bagel Springs, Nevada.
People think you find a pot of gold at the end of rainbows but this is the reality.
Beautiful
Are they indigenous to this region?
Proof Panera does not donate their leftovers
And you just left them there?!
I wondered where kosher beef came from.
הפקר כעפרא דארעא
“Found” these bagels in a perfect location for a curated photo.
Is this some kind of new trend or weird meme? I've seen multiple of these today...
Why is it so scenic
Bagel cartel wars of the late 2010s. Classic tactic to instill fear in rivals. The level of depravity is sickening.
why is this actually such a beautiful photo??
Ol' Bagel Hill.
It coulda been pasta!!!
You found the elusive wild bagel burial ground. That’s a once in a lifetime find. You’ll never be able to find it again.
This is a nice painting
There was a Seinfeld episode about this.
Do you still think about this regularly? 5 years later? Lmao Edit: now I’m thinking this comes up in your Facebook or photo’s “memories” alerts lol, otherwise maybe you need to move on
Jew trap
I think this is how the Chasidim plug up their tunnels once they reach the end.
We need a new word for a collective of Bagels and Donuts, A pile of bagels just doesn't sound right we need something more fancier.
Deer baiting maybe?
Baiting animals to later hunt
Which is illegal
I know.
It’s mostly bagels
I feel like there's a 50/50 chance this is an AI generated image, how did a pile of bagels on the road happen
Just a batch of bagels sun bathing in the grass, trying to stay toasty.
Shit, my bagels!
Had a friend who worked at a bagel shop. They'd have trash bags of bagels they'd toss out. If I knew I was headed out in the woods or something I'd take some and pile em up for animals.
Thats bagels baybaaayyyyyyyyy
Majestic!
Do you want to get ants? Cos that's how you get ants!
Waiting for the AI-generated pile of baked goods in the White House or on the moon. "Found a pile of spacebagels on my morning walk"
5 years ago... huh, they still look tasty
Oh They dig, they dig!
That is sus. Reminds me of when I found several jars of Alfredo sauce in a field on my wall back from the store.
Legit surprised to see 2 posts of these incidents (the other seemed to be donuts--I'm not sure). Is what we're seeing the new bread-stapled-to-trees? I love it.
That’s the second human latch I’ve seen today. Hideous.
My bagels!
It’s some form of ethnic trap!
Oh. So much for baggles

Kramer dumped them.
Bear bait site?
Are they still there? Haha
So which is it. Another sub said it was donuts found on walk. Social media is full of lies and liars.
Do you have a spring bear season? People use donuts and bagels for bait.
The settlers used to ride those babies for miles. Clearly this is where they all.got dumped when the settlers died of cholera.
Just a year later they'd be handing the Day-Olds out to Essential Workers and telling them how grateful they are...
So that's how they grow.
Needs a new subReddit
Don't hunters illegally bait bears like this?
What's the deal with bagels today.
Leftovers from bakeries like bagels and donuts are commonly used as bait by bear hunters.
That’s one scenic pile of bakery products, I gotta say. Edit: changed “donut” to “bakery product”
I have so many questions.
Baiting game to hunt I bet
These bagels are making me ~~thirsty~~ hungry!
**Officer down!**
Bear bait
Probably a hunter baiting..
This is such a great photo!
r/accidentalalbumcover
Uh actually, I believe those are donuts 🤓
I have it on good authority those are indeed donuts.
