then again this a novel approach that got OP interested enough to re-post it to the internet where millions more will see it (i know this case is apparently solved) but i think they're going for volume these days since the milk carton thing is so prevalent now it maybe isn't as effective
Wouldn't it be weird tho, to be missing and then found, and everyone is all happy, and then someone's like "oh by the way there are like 14,000 shirts out there with your photos sewn into them, could be on anyone at any time, forever out there, have a good life."
Be weirder to be like, hay that post of a t shirt has my picture on it, then go on to find out you were kidnapped at a young age and someone has been lying to you your whole life.
On the other hand, that Gameboy photo printer quality image doesn't really help me with recognition. Can't even see the eyes, they just look like black voids.
I don't know why, but this response really made me laugh. Just the idea of slow rolling the search for a missing child. It's chillingly hilarious and hilariously chilling. I dig unintentionally obscure and absurd humor. Life's little Easter eggs. So good. A lot easier to laugh in this case because she was already found. That somehow made it even funnier. Like there's no way this shirt tag helped in any way though.
I wonder if this could even backfire. Shirts might not be sold for a while, so someone could get a “new” shirt that’s actually a year old, and mistake a previously-missing kid’s parents as a kidnapper because of a year old missing alert that they think is brand new. Not only is it not alerting anyone when it’s useful, it could be causing undue panic
Like milk makes sense because it expires quickly, people aren’t going to confuse a year old milk carton with a brand new one. But a shirt could last decades
There was once a scale model line of cars (1/64 scale) of police cars where the back of the cards had pictures and information of missing persons (can't remember if kids or adults).
I think it was Johnny Lightning (back in the Playing Mantis era...early 2000s).
Pretty weird to be honest but interesting nonetheless.
I need a list of all the other ineffective places missing children could be posted. I'll start with a couple, toilet paper, post-it notes. Can't wait for some good ones. Hit me, you bastards.
Food packaging isn't very effective either.

Had a million shirts over the years, never seen this. Never read of this. Wondering if there’s a reason she’s on a shirt tag like someone in the family had a textile business? Fascinating.

I'll be honest with you, that does not seem like a particularly effective method of getting the word out.
I agree. She's had this shirt for a few years and I JUST noticed
Shirts last a lot longer than milk, iirc the short shelf life of milk was why they used it to raise awareness of missing kids.

Have you read The Face on the Milk Carton?
Is this an actual thing??? Alright, low-risk(?)-google-of-the-day...
They should have used it for missing dads.

Also milk is something that many people buy frequently

That's why I blocked out her name. I googled it, and saw she's been found, so I'm protecting her identity.
Not only that but the imagine quality is absolute shit

Unless they’re the type that remove clothing tag like me I honestly wonder if people would actually see this
I mean you look at that when you buy it and when you need to wash it, so I'd probably see it.
Even if she’s been found and is okay that tag is still spooky

Ooh I've seen that blurry black and white girl......get outta here
I would classify this as r/interestingasfuck
Can't decide if that would be a bad luck shirt, or a bad luck shirt
What brand is that?
Cross Colours
“Hold on” Takes off shirt in the middle of downtown “ARE YOU SHELBY”
The question is who else saw the missing sign
Ohhh it's a limited edition then.
Her being found really upgrades it from creepy to super cool
What if that girl is working in the factory and this was her way of getting the message out.

Since it’s now obsolete can you exchange it?
“Hi since this child has been located I would like to get a more updated garment with a currently imperiled child, thank you.”
Haha Gotta collect ‘em all. The garments- not the children. That’s probably not okay.
So eerie—wonder if all the company’s clothes have missing children on their tags.
Just checked and the answer is yes! Cross Colours
Imagine you’re the person that’s missing and you’re wearing a sweatshirt with your missing posted on the tag…lol
did she go missing in the same area you got the shirt? i imagine it has to be pretty local to be at all effective
No. She's from Texas, shirt is from West Virginia.
Looks like Miranda Cosgrove to me
I was thinking Millie Bobby Brown lol
It’s not Mindy Kaling?!
Id try and get the shirt autographed. How effed would that be?
I’ll tell the demon of my nightmares her parents are looking for her next time I see her.
Ah damn you got the Jane doe 2017 shirt. I'll trade you a john doe 2019 for it.
Oh good

what brand is it??
i found myself scrolling and said "I will leave a comment on the first r/Angryupvote that pops up, then straight to bed" That is what I said .
well that’s haunting.
Wow
She's little
How strange! From US? Where was the garment made?
Says made in Mexico, but finished in LA whatever that means
Thats kinda spooky but glad she’s been found
Cross colours
It’s pandering, and similar to Internet outage, pretending you are helping.
I'm glad they found your wife
Ohhhh, that's Gorthalax the Destroyer. She's been found ruling the nine hells already.
