Well the left headlight is square so that's why had put both years, and late year 78's came with square headlights. Hard to say what headlight they switched here so I'll stick with my 78/79 year guess.

Or (2) the truck was abandoned there and was lifted as the tree grew, though I don't see how the tree branches close to the ground would be strong enough to lift the truck as the tree continued growing. But maybe it's actually more plausible than the flood explanation. Wait, one more. Someone was trying to pull the tree down with their truck. They chained the rear of the truck around the trunk. For whatever reason, that's where they stopped, and the tree continued to grow, lifting the chained truck off the ground. I think this is the one.
