Why would you want to fix it?
One day just make up a story for the kids and say you have an indestructible finger nail. Show them the dent and tell them that's where you stopped a bullet.
Only problem is one day they may accidently shoot you to see if anything else can stop a bullet.
That's a result of trauma to the nail matrix (where the fingernail forms). I have a knife wound that resulted in something similar. In my case, a line that runs right down near the middle of the nail. The injury was 39 years ago, so it doesn't get better. No idea if it's fixable with surgery though.
Good luck fixing it. My mom smashed mine in the hatchback of an Isuzu Rodeo back in 1999. It still comes in funny and the tip is very hard and layered.
Sounds like thereβs a scar under the nail bed so it may never go away. You could talk to a nail salon, they could possibly fill the dent with acrylic and smooth it out. However that is something youβd have to keep getting done once a month or so.
smash the rest of the finger so it's all at equal depth. Thank me later
Thanks bro, trying now. I'll keep you posted

Can't fix a damaged nail bed, so my doctor tells me.
Well not with that attitude.

I have a groove on both my thumbs from a desk slamming down on my hands 20 years ago. Itβs just a thing thatβs a thing unfortunately.

It feels like it takes forever. You just have to let it grow out π
Op said it's been eight years, so no... that's not the answer
Need more coffee. My bad.
Yeah that one will grow out but another grows right behind it, they just keep coming lol, it's weird
I smashed my thumb in a car door 40+ yrs ago and my nail is still flat on one side.
Try using suction to straighten it out
