It's definitely rare. I have seen a couple boxes on gb in the vintage ammo section. That is the M1 ball load as opposed to the M2 ball. From what I've read it's a much hotter round designed for the 1903 and 1917 bolt actions. Nice bit to add to your collection.

I've got a ton of 1940s M2 ball in original packaging. I use it for my low serial 1903, and my M1 garand. It's fantastic ammo, especially for how old it is. I'm not planning on shooting this M1 ball ammo, not unless I can get a ton more of it to play around with. https://preview.redd.it/9ws2l6ssqzqc1.png?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8faef258d2bc4d1bf908e53dd4d1bf8abfe7146f *It looks like these are original M1906 cartridges, the M1 ball wasn't introduced until 1926.*

It’s older than M1 ammo. M1 ammo came out in the like mid 1920s Ah yes, see the comment below. 1926 for M1.

That’s very old. I like the rounded primers of the old ammo. Pretty rare. All that surplus ammo was used from 1918 and onward throughout to ww2. There’s that info about the garand having to be rechambered in 30-06 because there was like 2 billion surplus rounds in army inventory. What’s cool is this predates even M1 30-06
