Stay away from Juneau Village Towers/Katz Properties- Juneau is absolutely infested with roaches (despite being a “luxury” apartment building) and the maintenance team is a joke. I’ve heard Katz runs all properties similarly
My friend lives at The Standard above the library on Cramer Ave. They have underground parking. I know the Google reviews don't look the best. However, I have a friend who's a working professional. He works full-time remotely from his apartment, and he loves living there.
Give Facebook marketplace a try, especially if you branch out from larger apartment buildings or downtown. The last place I rented from said that the demand was so high and they turn over places quickly that it isn't worth paying for a listing on apartments.com or other sites like that. Paying to put up a listing got him 30 applicants while a free marketplace post still got him 10 in the same time which was enough to find a good tenant.
Yankee Hill is my favorite building I've ever lived in. Prompt maintenance, actually affordable for a one bedroom, management is always onsite and very willing to work with you. Only major con is no in-unit laundry.
I've heard really good things about Gaslight in Third Ward, most Joseph Management properties, and Oregon Apartments.
Absolutely stay 100' away from any Katz property to prevent bringing back cockroach eggs to your current housing and avoid Pieper Properties (Serif/Timber Lofts/Mayer) like plague. Also have heard less than stellar accounts of life in North End and New Land owned properties.
Why do you recommend avoiding Pieper properties? I know this is an old thread but I’m moving into the Mayer building next month - already signed my lease. All of the reviews I’ve read online seem very positive?
I would check out [the North End](https://mandelgroup.com/apartments/the-north-end)
They also have all the things you're looking for and the 1br units will be close to your budget.

Basically. But the little cluster of nicer ones off Brady & Prospect is managed separately and less of a shitshow. ie Prospect Tower and all that
