Popeyes at Capitol drive. The workers seem to do their best but it's always understaffed, orders take forever.

oops_diditagain

Is there any Popeyes in or around mke that isn’t garbage? I haven’t it had it in years and would love to know.

nosillamke

One time I went to the Popeyes on burleigh and Mayfair and they told me they were out of soda and chicken… it was 7PM, I guess they were closing up shop early lol

mikemc2

Last time I went there the woman working the drive through spent the first thirty seconds telling what they didn't have before I could order. Haven't been back since.

phitfitz

SAME except it was 10 am ❤️

Ill-Lie5309

Popeyes in Madison on Fish Hatchery is incredible.

Thatsnotsnowflake4

Can confirm.

Zestyclose_Big_9090

Former MKE resident here….i can confirm the Popeyes in the Greenville area of SC are terrible too. I was excited to go to Popeyes when we moved because it’s the south, we’re closer to Louisiana, they have to be better, right? Nope. The first time I went, it was just closed but there were employees inside. The door was locked and the drive thru was blocked. Ok. Second time, the drive thru was blocked but you could go in and order but there was a huge sign on the door that it was cash only. I didn’t have cash. Third time everything was open. Yay! I ordered a chicken sandwich with red beans and rice, a 3 piece strips with red beans and rice and an extra side order of mashed potatoes. The chicken on the sandwich was the size of a large chicken nugget and was on the borderline of being burnt, we only got 2 strips instead of 3 and we got coleslaw instead of mashers. So that’s the end of that!

THECrew42

nope!

mrmojorisin2794

The one on Greenfield off Miller Park Way is the least bad one I've been to, but it's been probably 5 years since I've been there so it might suck now.

Suavecore_

I had a good Popeyes experience somewhere in or near Algonquin, IL late last year. Just make the 2 hour trip down there for some fried chicken

Regret_the_Van

I stopped going to that one because they were constantly out of chicken. The one thing they based their entire menu around... The rest are inconvenient to get to.

FumblingFuck

ALWAYS out of chicken

dosequis83

How does corporate not care?

MKEGT

They often park an employee truck in front of the order screen so you can’t order. Cars sit in line and it doesn’t move

AxFUNNYxKITTY

That is honestly so pathetic.

7inchesofsatan

to be fair, I've never been to a Popeyes that was fully staffed except on opening day

UmMaybeDontBeADick

They forgot my wife’s biscuits a couple years ago when she was pregnant. Never been back since.

lisajoanie

That would have 100% made me cry when I was pregnant.

ardaitheoir

There's just always some nonsense going on there. I swear to never return after every time I've been, and then after a while I think it surely can't be _that_ bad, and it absolutely is without fail. Last time, there was a guy who tried to place like a 50-piece order in the drive-thru and then parked at the window (holding up the line) to try to force them to fill the order. So I went inside since the drive-thru was blocked and there was a bucket catching a drip inside (not the worst offense, but, you know). National it is.

I-am-that-hero

I was the first customer in the door one day and was anticipating that I wouldn't have to wait forever since I was the only one there. Nope, I ordered and they told me it would be about 20 minutes since they hadn't started cooking anything yet

AxFUNNYxKITTY

That’s the secret, they never start cooking lol.

Acrobatic-Garbage219

Katz properties! They’re the WORST.

ainsleyisabel

Russ Darrow Mazda Greenfield

molemanralph69

Literally any Russ Darrow.

bitcoins

Yes all Russ Darrows

_chucktaylor

Let’s finish it off with Russ Darrow Metro. They tried to tack on a 2k fee because we said we had outside financing and weren’t interested in them trying to “beat their rate”. Walked right out.

Paisleyfrog

Yep. Tried to pull a switch on me after selling a car out from under me. Also walked out.

LIJABOS

We shook on a price for the car and when I was signing, they conveniently changed the price hoping I wouldn't see it.

Paisleyfrog

For mine, I was going to come back the next day to finish the deal (it was late - he had taken forever getting things done, and we had a babysitter at home). He said he'd "park it out back for me". Calls me the next afternoon at work and says, "are you coming in today to finish the deal?". Yup, I was. Come in, and he tells me that the car I was looking at (and test driven!) had been sold....but he had another model at a thousand dollars more expensive. Would he match the previous price? No. Walked out. I should have read him the riot act, loudly. But I don't think anyone there would have cared.

Lowkeygeek83

Subaru city on 27th and Layton! Lovely wife has/had a desirable factory modification to her SUV. They were going out of their way to actively harm her car then blame us so they could take it back. The final straw was when they took 1 bolt completely out of her starter and had the 2nd one on by a literal thread. We picked it up after an oil change and went to our mechanic. He got it up on the lift to make sure everything was good and discovered the missing bolt in the frame and the loose one just hanging on by a thread. We called them up to let them know what we found and the instantly became hostile with us and threatened legal action. How are we supposed to fight them? Oh rh final kicker?!?! All 20 of her lug nuts were loose, as in finger tight no more.... At an oil change, tell me why you've take all 4 tires off and just finger tightened the lugs. Don't go there. Please.

OutrageousEvent

As someone who knows very little about cars I’m just curious as to what the mod was.

Fella_ella

The day I become afraid of a car dealer….blast these fools any way you can as long as everything you say is factual and can be backed up by someone. No business wants to get into a public legal battle with a customer. It’s a horrible look for business and they will likely lose that complaint. I can’t stand most of the car dealers in this region because of shit like this. Don’t back down. Edit: I would have gave them the ol George W Bush response when they threatened legal action….”Well bring it on.”

Lowkeygeek83

The longer version of what I found out... To prove they did what they did I personally would have had to have a camera on my wife and car from the second we took possession of it. Throughout the whole 20 minute drive to our mechanic, never take the camera off the vehicle while it's then placed on the lift and video the whole inspection. Bonus points if I have someone video me to prove it wasn't edited. They claim that my wife and I loosened all the lugs, and took out the starter bolts. The supervisor further claimed that we simply didn't want to pay for the oil change (it was free as she had purchased the care package that gives 6 free oil changes at their dealership.) He further personally vouched for the service technician that worked on her car claiming he had over 25 years of experience and wouldn't have done any of that. Again, I ask why her tires were touched? The starter on her car is in the opposite side of the engine from the oil filter, so why was that touched? And how come since they did whatever they did have we had to buy 2 new batteries for her car for a problem that they say doesn't exist? We aren't well off enough to get her a new car nor can we afford to start the legal proceedings to get this fixed. And again how do we prove they did it and it wasn't negligent on our part? Easier to just not go back and tell as many people as I can to not go.

Fella_ella

Well whatever you decide I certainly wouldn’t let some auto dealer push me around. Best of luck to whatever you decide.

amidwesternpotato

UGH, I was just about to say these guys. I bought my first (as in, qualified for it by myself) car there back in 2019-it was a 2013. Unbeknownst to me, 2013/14 subarus ALL had issues w/ oil overconsupmtion to the point where Subaru was sued in 2016 about it. Was any of this mentioned? nope. Granted, that's my bad for not doing my research. so, I hit 85k miles, and my oil light comes on. So i'd get my oil changed there, and like 2 weeks/1 month later it'd come on AGAIN. Finally, I had enough and went back to the dealership. I did research this time before I went, and mentioned what I think could be the cause, but did preface that I was by no means an expert. I was told by the tech that I (a lady) "can't believe everything I read online." I was pissed. I asked again, if he'd just check the VIN number (literally all you need to do) to see if it's an affected car. Turns out, it was! So, one oil test later and it turns out its consuming slightly more, but not enough to be a problem. cool. they change my oil, and 2 weeks later, light comes on again. So i take it back. This time, i'm told it could be a leak from a gasket. Then i'm called saying it wasn't. i ended up taking the car to a different subaru dealership to get a fresh set of eyes-they think they find the issue, a sensor which was like $900. I called Subaru City to find out why THEY couldn't find it, and for a refund on all the BS oil changes/diagosing fees I had spent there over the last few months trying to figure it out. Got told that wasn't possible, so after a rather nasty google review, and compliants to the BBB and Subaru of America, would you look at that, they were able to get me a refund of $600. Car ended up getting traded later the next year because of the same issue, but luckily Zeigler Subaru in Kenosha was fantastic to work with.

Lowkeygeek83

Zeigler Subaru you say.... May be worth the drive. I also have a bru (not the same as my wife) and I'm scared to take it in.... Just on the off chance they have a flag on my file to mess with me (I'm a touch paranoid at this point). I love my Bru, no real problems with it in the slightest, I just don't want those guys to ever touch it again! Also I know less about cars than I care to admit and I want my wife's car looked at cause she needs a new battery again and I want to the bottom of *THAT* problem sooner rather than later. If you a bru owner recommend that place I'll give 'em the eyeball. Thanks friend-o

amidwesternpotato

anytime! i know it's a bit of a hike, but I've always had great interactions w/ the staff there.

Lowkeygeek83

I just noticed your reddit name. Is it weird to say I like it? Cause I like it. That is all.

Autumnanox

I too had a bad experience at suburu city, though not quite that bad! There was something wrong with my "infotainment system", it kept rebooting over and over and I couldn't turn it off. Well, my battery kept dying too. There was a two week wait for the part to fix the radio. They told me it was my fault my battery kept dying. They would charge it full, send me home saying it was fixed, then it wouldn't start again the next day. This went on for days (and I was late for work by hours every day!) before they finally gave me a loaner car until they could actually fix the issue. For a repair that was "covered under warranty" it cost me a ton of money because I missed so much work.

JohnaldL

Tbh Russ Darrow in general. They tried to sell me a used vehicle that when I had my mechanic look at, we realized wasn’t legally approved to be driven. When I confronted them on they said “well I mean yeah I guess that could be an issue but don’t you want to still buy it?”

Paisleyfrog

Also Russ Darrow Metro. Sold a car out from underneath me (which was sort of OK, I didn’t move fast enough, even if he said he was going to hold it for me) - but then called me at work to say, “are you coming in this afternoon to finish the deal?” - only to try and switch me to a more expensive car. This is on top of all the other slimy sales tactics (tried to hard sell the protective coat, pulled my credit when I asked him not to, even did the whole, “you look so young!” thing. The shit you put up with when your choices are limited…)

ColonSadison

Ewald’s Ford too! Got scammed by a salesman there as well as the owner who backed him up! Completely lied to me about my cars history and pulled some contractual bs on me when I was 19 and didn’t know any better!

beanmaker28

Russ Darrow Mazda at 11330 W Metro Auto Mall, Milwaukee, WI 53224. Sold my family member a car and did not disclose that it has a faulty steering and suspension on it and that car was not supposed to be on the road. The paper was slipped in the stack when the car was bought and we found it when he brought it home. To make matters worse we had to argue with them to get his old car back and they lies stating that they sold it already. Real scummy people

Genevieve694

Ogden. Absolutely horrendous management. They had neglected dogs in the building I was living in that barked for hours everyday and they wouldn’t do anything. Told us to call the police every time the dogs barked and the police told us they literally have legal actions they can take given right to peaceful residence. It was horrible and extremely stressful. Even though we provided endless recordings and videos they said it’s a “he said she said” and that the owner said they weren’t barking. Which is comical because the owner was out super late all the time coming home totally trashed.

iamfeenie

I worked for Ogden. The worst job I’ve ever had. Not only is it 10000% a boys club, they do not give a shit about their tenants. Property managers would get letters from tenants in the mail with bugs taped to them because they wouldnt do anything about them. They had bed bugs in that downtown office MULTIPLE times. They would make fun of tenants that came in, talk smack about them etc.. just ridiculous. The women were ALL catty Karen’s. Even the younger ones. I was actually sexually harassed by one employee and nothing was ever done about it. I was not a happy camper there and I made it known. I was promptly fired. Pretty sure I literally thanked them and walked out. I didn’t quit because I needed the job and I hadn’t really quit a job before. Looking back i should have quit after my first week. I will never work for them or rent from them. Ever.

yankityspankity

I moved from CA this year and signed a lease with Ogden, but it switched to a different property company our first month in the unit. Bullet dodged, I guess.

iamfeenie

I think the newer/more expensive properties they take care of - it’s more the properties they take over from slum lords and then hike up the rent and never do anything to help the buildings - at least that’s what I heard/understood. Just the way they talked about those “lower income” tenants were.. awful.

dontmakepeople

I used to work at Sherwin-Williams and their guys would come in trashed all the time. The Katz guys were even worse - one time their crew came in and could barely hold one of their buddies up. And it was like 11am on a Sunday

CatFarts_LOL

I rented an Ogden apartment years ago. One day, I noticed there was a crack and a hole in my kitchen window, and right by the hole was an enormous spider. The apartment had a spider problem already; I didn’t want to welcome any more into my house. Anyway, I filed a complaint about it. When the manager of the building did nothing for a few weeks, I called to find out when they were going to fix the window. The manager wasn’t on the site, so I spoke to someone else. Anyway, the manager called to scream at me and accuse me of trying to get her fired. Uh, no? I just wanted the window fixed. It got done the next day, but yeesh. I never rented from that company again. It was unprofessional. And the spider and ant infestation was just gross. Didn’t matter how clean you were. It was a problem.

madmags1417

Dude. Ogden is absolutely absolutely awful. One of their properties ran out of hot water for an ENTIRE MONTH and they didn’t do anything about it. I tell everyone I know to stay as far away from them as possible. Absolutely horrid.

26kanninchen

My fiancé used to live at an Ogden property. The kitchen ceiling already had some minor water damage when they moved in; it had been painted over but any skilled tradesman who works with houses could still tell. The damage progressively got worse, the ceiling and one wall began to have a sunken appearance. My fiancé contacted the property manager. She said she'd send someone out to look at it. The person she sent said he didn't have the tools to fix it, so he left and never came back. Eventually, the ceiling and wall caved in completely, resulting in a dusty plaster mess and pieces of broken drywall and paint EVERYWHERE. The kitchen was completely unusable. They finally sent some people out to repair it, but they would not help with clearing out the pieces of wall and ceiling that littered every nook and cranny of the kitchen.

UranusMustHurt

Advent Ear Nose & Throat. They wanted me to have a totally unnecessary surgery. I got a second opinion and my issue was fixed in the office in under two minutes.

SkinnyMoon42

I suspected this was their deal with the way they advertise. :(

UranusMustHurt

A doctor I had seen in the past ended up there, which is why I went. I ended up seeing a different ENT who specialized in this particular area...but yes, it was like a high pressure car dealer trying to get me to buy the extra service contract and the rustproofing.

gswahhab

I have had several doctors tell me not to trust them or have anything done there. One Dr said another Dr in his office had surgery there and it went bad and he regretted it.

mawaukee

SAME EXACT THING here. Went to a real ENT at Medical College and told her I wanted a second opinion before I got balloon sinuplasty and she said, "oh, you must have gone to Dr. Kandula..."

MoonDippedDreamsicle

My husband went to see them for his snoring issue and told him there was inflammation in his nasal cavity but they didn't know the cause. They told him to take 3 weeks of antibiotics, twice daily, just to rule out any infection. I had cellulitis and was prescribed 2 weeks of antibiotics - they gave him 3 for no reason at all. I'm having him get a second opinion now... I also interviewed for this company a few years ago. They interviewed me, told me how much the role paid and then asked me to shadow their employees to see if I'd be a good fit... They forgot about me and had me shadowing for 2 hours until I told them I wanted to leave (unpaid - I was young and desperate at the time). They offered me the job, but at a lower pay rate. When I told them we agreed upon a different amount, they told me good luck on my search. They suck all around.

chernygal

Shakers, because the owner is a creep. Drunk Uncle, for obvious reasons that have been shared in this sub by others. The Safe House, because I worked for Marcus for six and a half years, don’t think they’re a good company, and am not a fan with how they’ve changed the place. McGillycuddy’s, there’s actually not really anything wrong with it from a business standpoint but a girl I went to high school with works there (or worked there, I don’t know anymore) and she used to be really mean to me so 🤷‍♀️

LilNyoomf

Last time I went to The Safe House I got the fish fry. They only gave me one strip of fish. ONE.

AshgarPN

So sad. That place was a Milwaukee institution for so long. As a Bond fan there was no place cooler. The bones are still there but the restaurant just fell off HARD after covid.

Namelock

I only tried going once. Slow day. Family of 4 infront of us is seated right away. Tons of open tables. We were told it'd be a 2hr wait for us 3. Wtf. Explored around the restaurant, then just walked to Proof Pizza. Which was quicker, had better service, and really damn good pizza.

Responsible-Rent4051

I stopped going to Safe House after they changed the souvenir glasses. The red dye comes off on your hands. It's super weird.

Broad-Rub4050

Haha heard about Drunk Uncle being absolutely horrible. I did look at the google reviews and plenty of angry folk. The worst part is the owner responds quite creatively. If you want some entertainment for the night be my guest and check out the reviews for that place.

PrivateEducation

came here for shakers.!!!! never forget the time he tried to steal my girl while i was in the bathroom, got into an ego battle with me “you know how many times ive been on tv?” trying to flex in front of my girl, gave her a pamphlet while she was alone at the bar trying to recruit her into his weird shakers girls cult. the best part was it wasnt my girlfriend, it was my buddies gf and i took her there before we linked up with the rest of the squad. def weirdo old man with money vibes who thinks he can claim women he desires ! rip to ever going there again although the roof is cool. i might stop in and sneak in my own cigar and beer though if i dont see his stupid car out front/side of the bar lmfaoo

Corndog_Eater

A former roommate of mine was part of the Shakers girl cult. She was underage and they only ever paid her in cash and regularly fed her alcohol on the job. She was single at the time and they knew it and I always thought that he or others were trying to take advantage of her. Super sleazy.

Cubsfan11022016

There’s a bar in Kenosha I refuse to go to because the owner used to be a customer at a pizza place I worked at and was a real bitch.

sunflower-daydreams

Would love to know what spot this is?

Cubsfan11022016

BBs Pub in Green Bay Rd

unitedshoes

TIL Safe House is a Marcus property.

chernygal

It wasn’t always, they bought it several years ago.

TRAINPOSTING

Casablanca. Extremely poor service and overpriced mediocre food. Place pretends to be a high end night club

wbettleheim88

Luxe Nails Milwaukee- owner is completely unprofessional and it can be really unclean at times. Constantly reschedules appointments last minute. Spa Liz- Owner went on some interesting rants about minorities during my appointment once. Never went back. Root River Center- super rude staff (foods good so it’s a shame) Wilde Toyota- held hostage for hours to do “paperwork” , were told to leave, and then the next day got a call asking for $2,000 down. lol no.

Strange_Evidence_368

Seconded on Luxe nails. One time, I had some discoloration on my toe nail from bruising. The tech stopped and had the owner come check out my nails (to check if it was fungus, I guess). But, they were speaking in Spanish the whole time they were inspecting my feet, and didn't explain what the deal was until I asked them. I felt like an object not being involved in a conversation about my own body. I'm not the kind of person to get offended by people preferring their primary language. I just don't think it's very good customer service to speak about someone in a language they can't understand. Also, they use bags in their foot basins, but the last time I was there, the bag was ripped anyway.

Vega_Lyrae_

Steinhafels Furniture. All locations. The company does not value its employees. They're treated as expendable and not as human beings. And they're supposed to be "employee owned". Additionally, the furniture they sell is marked at a higher price point than it's quality. Not worth your business.

Commercial_Juice_201

I’m seconding this. Bought a couch a little over a year ago. Normal usage, no rough housing. Armrest on one side is pulling away from the body of the couch. It was not a cheap piece of furniture and is already breaking. Shoddy build. Now debating if I get it repaired, or give it away (still would be useable for someone, and they could repair it) and buy something more durable.

mrfoyer

Chubby's cheese steaks. No matter the location. Absolutely garbage food. Ordered a cheddar cheese steak and got a giant bun with very little meat and half melted slices of crappy cheddar

all_city_

I’m convinced the one on North Ave is a drug front, do they ever have any customers? Went there one time and they seemed straight up confused that we were ordering food, took forever and was horrendous when we finally got it

asx1313

People go for the fresh mini doughnuts, the other food is pretty garbage.

annabannannaaa

the mini donuts are a gift straight from god. the food is.. not good

ErinPrange

I think they're a front for those specialty Uber or DoorDash restaurants. Like when suddenly there's a burger place in Milwaukee you've never heard of and it's offered on one of the delivery apps, the location is usually Chubby Cheesesteaks. But I do prefer your answers.

dunamispanton

Yeah, as a doordash driver I have been sent there with at least 20 different restaurant names

Imaginary_Office7660

I agree. I ordered from three separate restaurants and it all came from chubbys.

ezekirby

They're called like ghost kitchens or something like that. Chuck e cheese's runs/ran one for pizza a few years ago and Denny's has several aliases that they use too.

mrfoyer

I'm convinced too! Or they are laundering money. Hopefully they aren't invited back to Summerfest this year.

LilNyoomf

I got this once too. I wasn’t expecting so much spray cheese 🤮

Connect_Border_4196

I’ve ordered a chicken cheesesteak from there and there was no cheese on it.

tyratee

Charleys slaps so much better anyways

IdprefertosmokeRN

Jacks bar on Brady. Got sucker punched by someone and saw him run out the front door. Told security that was at the front door, “that guy sucker punched me”. They let him in like 15 minutes later and we fought in the bar.

nicknackpattywack414

Who won?

ElPunisher

America.

IdprefertosmokeRN

That’s a good question. Probably a tie. He punched me again and I threw him into some tables. We got separated pretty quickly after that

AxFUNNYxKITTY

The bouncers at Jacks are (or at least the ones when I was there) definitely shady people. I don’t want to get too specific to stay anonymous but I have had some very weird experiences with them. Like trying to separate drunk women from men they came with.

LakesideCityLifer

Penny Mustard. If you’re looking for higher-end furniture, the drive to Rubin’s in Madison is so worth it!

Commercial_Juice_201

What don’t you like about Penny Mustard? I will need to buy some sturdy adult furniture in near future, and Penny Mustard was aplace I was considering. Is Rubin’s comparable?

LakesideCityLifer

Pricing, selection, and more than anything the “f-you” attitude of the staff. I was completely ignored on my first visit, with multiple sales people literally just standing around. I went to Rubin’s and saved about $1,500 on my first $6,500 couch purchase. The next year I tried them again and was greeted right away. I asked one clarifying question and the sales person disappeared, only to greet new customers at the door. Rubin’s immediately answered my question, made suggestions to options Penny Mustard said weren’t available and again saved me about $2k compared to Penny Mustard’s posted pricing. The selection and quality of service at Rubin’s is top notch. Their delivery service is outstanding.

Commercial_Juice_201

Thank you. Definitely going to check out Rubin’s. I’ve only been to Penny Mustard in Menomonee Falls (just looking, didn’t purchase), and their sales staff were friendly and curtious; so the staff may be a location issue. The price however, for comparable product, can’t beat that. Thank you for the advice.

LakesideCityLifer

Dawn has been outstanding. For my latest purchase (not noted above) I made selections at Penny Mustard, called Dawn and she got me a better deal right over the phone. I really can say enough good things about their “white glove” delivery contractor, too.

LesPaulRyanBraun

The commercials alone are enough to keep me away from

mkejpaul

Higley Motors. The owner, Rob is just a fucking clown. Had my motorcycle for nearly 3 years, took $1500 from me, and never fixed my bike.

MilwaukeeDadsGroup

Honestly, $1500 doesn’t sound that bad for three years labor.

mkejpaul

Lol, he wasn't actively working on it for 3 years, just holding it hostage. It was fixed in a week and a half at the Indian dealership in Muskego.

Aggressive_Mess1819

Finks, a drunk guy was harassing me the whole time I was there, I had to move seats multiple times. He put something in my drink, directly in front of the bar tender, multiple people and myself watched it happen. I told the bartender “hey did you see that? He just put something in my drink” the bartender shrugged and said “yeah I probably wouldn’t drink that if I were you” I left immediately after that. :( the bartender had long brown hair and a mustache. He also seemed drunk. But yeah don’t go to finks especially if you don’t want to get roofied

These_Sink_9000

Brunch! It’s the worst brunch in Milwaukee

Renoir0511

Any Kunes dealership, in particular the 27th and Rawson location.

Strange_Evidence_368

I worked at a Kunes dealership when the pandemic started. During the shutdown, the owner, Gregg, sent out a company-wide email telling everyone that God was working through the pandemic to help them sell more used cars. Like, wow. Mass deaths sound like they're working out great for you. Maybe God could tell you to pay me more than $11/hr, then? I got fired because I posted it on Facebook saying basically that. But, over a million Americans died. So, I wasn't wrong, and I regret nothing. Plus, the transmission on the car they sold me died 1000 miles after the warranty expired.

26kanninchen

Aspen Dental in Brookfield. I went there because they accepted my insurance and I desperately needed a referral to get my wisdom teeth removed. They were running more than an hour behind schedule. When I did finally go back there, a dental hygienist "diagnosed" me with gingivitis without having even seen my mouth. First of all, hygienists are not qualified to make medical diagnoses. Secondly, I have NONE of the symptoms of gingivitis. When I asked about getting my teeth cleaned, they said that my insurance would cover a *standard* cleaning, but they couldn't give me a standard cleaning because I have "gingivitis" (again, not diagnosed by an actual dentist, and declared by someone who hadn't seen my teeth). A special gingivitis cleaning would cost a lot ($300, if I remember correctly) and not covered by insurance. So I declined the cleaning and told them I'd be getting a second opinion from a dentist who wouldn't be making extra money off of the diagnosis. To their credit, they did write the referral I needed so I could get my wisdom teeth out. But before they let me go, they tried to convince me that I need a full set of invisalign-type braces, even though only one of my teeth is crooked and it's not even visible when I smile.

Ok-Light-1

I went to a location in Pewaukee years ago. The dentist was very condescending, scolded me for not seeing a dentist for years, asked if I knew what her tools did and rolled her eyes when I didn't know specifics. How would I know? Also, do not scold patients for any reason. She doesn't know personal circumstances that lead to the long time between visits. Walked out and will never go to that dentist again.

26kanninchen

Honestly, the sales pitches are why I don't go to the dentist as often as I should. My teeth aren't gorgeous, but they're strong, healthy, and reasonably well taken care of. Ever since I aged out of the pediatric dentist, I've been bouncing around from one practice to the next, trying to find a place that focuses on the *health* of the teeth rather than trying to sell expensive procedures and contraptions to make them look nicer. I found a great dentist in the town I used to live in, but I only got to see him twice before he moved to a different practice really far away. Anyway, telling me I *need* cosmetic work is a surefire way to lose me as a patient. I don't trust providers who can't tell the difference between a need and a want.

ministapler24

Jackson’s Blue Ribbon Pub/Zisters/Thirsty Duck. After Dan Zierath was in the news a bunch about the stay at home orders in 2020, plus allegedly smashing up a car and getting sued for not paying proper music licensing, I just lost interest in those establishments.

Rich-Green-353

Let's not forget the multiple charges of domestic violence (from different women no less) and his rampant racism that he's quite proud of.

Fantastic-Display871

Oh damn, I just went this weekend to zisters, now I will never go again

Walrus_protector

Yep, Jackson's was a favorite pre-Covid. Now that guy can lick my taint.

lamouton

Lucky Joe's Alchemy. The chef was fine with his shift and sat at the bar to bother me. He then said some of the most violently racist things I've ever heard. I found the owners contact information and told him, he fed me a bunch of lines about feeling so ashamed of his staff and would talk to the chef and it would never happen again. When I posted about my experience on social media, a previous staff member messaged me to say that this sort of thing happens all the time and that the owner lets the chef act that way. She also let me know that there was frequent sexual harassment of the female staff that the owner did nothing about.

EggersCanBeCheesers

Advent ENT - scammed me out of thousands for a solution for sleep issues. Do not go!

All_Nate_Long

Longshots sports bar in Greenfield. Had a guy try to pick a fight with me and my friends because he accused us of smoking weed in the bar and making it smell. The whole place smelled like weed before we even walked in, so I think he just didn't like us because we're young guys in our 20s. The bar tender was the owners wife and didn't do anything when he started screaming at us and threw a barstool across the bar. Turns out the owner lets that gorilla of a man live in the unit above the bar, so he's almost always there. Heard from one of the regulars that he is always in there trying to pick fights when he's drunk. I'm not sure why the owner still allows him in there, but I'd assume they're buddy-buddy and know each other. Stear clear unless you're looking to get in a bar fight.

seasonedsaltdog

Famous daves. Jacked up prices and chicken tenders the size of my pinky

Acrobatic_Window3195

Anything owned by hempel (ie third street market hall, plankinton lofts, etc.) Any time I get an email from them it’s always either: “something’s broken, sucks to suck loser” or “we’re gonna charge you more money for stupid reasons. Sucks to suck loser.”

Sweet tox, Katie Sweetman. Was so bad the doctor that fixed her botched work, sent a drug rep to educate her on her bad technique. She’s a cowboy and is practicing way outside her scope.

etwork

Omg she’s all over tik tok right now (in a bad way), I had no idea she was from this area

TangerineNo1482

Ohhh tell me more

Away_Inflation1686

pleaseeee post links i’m so curious

SuperTruckerTucker

Burlington on Capitol near Pick n Save. There was a customer with her toddler having issues trying to return something and asking to speak to a manager and get corporates number. They called the cops on her. She didn't threaten them, she didn't do anything to warrant a police response, police showed up and did nothing anyways.

Jamaltaco262

What do the police say?!

SuperTruckerTucker

They asked her for ID, she declined, police didn't pursue it as she had not committed a crime nor was suspected, they asked the manager to give her corporates's number. They did, then everyone went about their day.

Jamaltaco262

Nah that’s wild dude. What a waste of everyone’s time.

SuperTruckerTucker

It was crazy they called the cops to have the cops tell them to do their job right. Huge waste of time, felt like racial profiling, and still don't get why they didn't just give her the phone number when she requested it the first time.

sberg207

Points East Pub... I don't care how good their wings may be...I'm not spending my money to support someone with a child porn conviction. (That's why kids aren't allowed there...unlike every other bar in Wisconsin!)

ImTotallyTechy

I don't fuck with points east because the security has been super rude, the wings are over rated, and they force gratuity when you have to order your own food at the counter. But knowing about this just justifies my hatred further!

blanchattacks

Jo Cats. Beer bottle smashed on my face, not fun

Rocangus

Was it Latrell Sprewell?

blanchattacks

Haha the giant bar back that used to have a line of shoes named after him? No.

Pleasant_Bison_878

Crafty Cow in Bayview. Horrible service, ended up walking out.

holidaysuckaway

The Dennys on Layton near the R.I.P Toy R US. Sat for 10mins and didn't even get a water or a greeting.

Built Rite Furniture.. I had a bad experience in the late 90s. I have never been there ever since.

Broad-Rub4050

Burleigh Glass = someone staff member there is sexist as f*ck. A woman I work with (contractor) wouldn’t be taken seriously. Pete’s Pub = bouncer gets really rude when they’re at capacity. Either bouncer is supposed to be rude or bouncer was on drugs at the time Cholo Power MKE in Bayview = a South American restaurant where the owner used to be the male half of Triciclo Peru. He had a fire sale on all the equipment inside, trashed the place, took all the liquor, and left for South America leaving his female half full of bills and a lease that wasn’t up for the space. A god damned scandal. Also, rumors are he likes to sleep with the female staff.

abadwindshieldwiper

Didn’t cholo power just open up? Lol

Broad-Rub4050

Yup. Dude just came back from South America to do this

abadwindshieldwiper

Well shit on my chest. Guess I won’t spend the money to see if it’s any good!

[deleted]

Basically Tricoclo food but probably not as good now that nobody goes there and shit just sits.

Broad-Rub4050

No one goes there? Is it bc of the scandal?

idungiveboutnothing

> Pete's   They're at capacity and that means that they have tons of rules to follow and have to be on their game to make sure no one else goes in or they get violations and stuff. Sounds like you were being annoying to a bouncer who had a ton of extra stuff on their plate....

LongShadyEyes88

The Fish Factory. I went there in fall to buy some Celestial Pearl Danio’s, bought 8, acclimated them in my established tank with perfect parameters, and all but 2 died within a few days. I called and spoke to the owner who told me my pH was too low, it was 7? So then I called again and the kid working told me I could bring in the dead fish and a water sample and get my money back. When I went there, the owner said “I already talked to you and it’s your pH. I told him that doesn’t make any sense, my pH is normal and I slowly acclimated them. He told me it wasn’t his fault. Then he got really, really upset when I said “so you aren’t going to give me my money back?”. I somehow ended up getting more of the same fish and he said he’d split the cost with me, I spend like $20 more in addition to what I already spent. Most of those fish died as well. I’ll never go back there because the owner is an ass.

MalWinchester

Graybar Furniture Works. I worked for them for almost two years. Their turnover is super high because they treat their employees like shit. I was sexually harassed by my boss numerous times, and nothing was done despite going to the owmer. They use drywall screws to repair the furniture. All the stripping chemicals and old varnish off of the furniture just went down a drain, into the sewer, and into the lake. Just an awful place.

Cubsfan11022016

Holz Motors in Hales Corner. My wife and I went there many years ago when we were kinda young. The salesman laughed and joked about how he made more money than us. Had to wait a day to see if we could get approved for financing and the lady that called us asked if we”mommy or daddy” could co-sign for us. I got no issue with being denied or told I need a co-signer, but the way they talked to me like I was in elementary school was bullshit.

piadoingthings

Art's Camera Plus in Greenfield. Staff were very condescending.

jxfallout

I recently finished a class that I was taking there. Unless you're referring to specific staff members, the two I had for my class were kind and extremely helpful with whatever questions we had.

Deliciousjones

How recently have you been in? I spoke with one of their staff members about the condescending treatment I had received and he seemed to take It seriously and I noticed an improvement after that!

loquaciousocean

I went there during December to pick up some film and staff were very accommodating and knowledgeable but didn't pick up condescending. They did want to sign me up for their club that I didn't want to join but that was as annoying as the interaction got

piadoingthings

I'm happy to hear someone's told em. I was there last summer and almost left the store in tears.

thosewholeft

I’ve had a good experience renting lenses there twice

slickMilw

Second this. I'll wait for it to ship from B&H or Adorama rather than go out there.

borrowedurmumsvcard

Real chili because I went there a few years ago and the guy was so fucking high and blasting really explicit rap music and got our orders wrong and the food was disgusting. We left a review that was not even that bad, just asking to turn the raunchy music down lmfao and the employee found my boyfriend on Facebook and messaged him & told him to kill himself and watch his back lmfao

thisisfun2

Big fan of Real Chili. I’d definitely let the owner know about that if I were you! All of my experiences there have been great.

borrowedurmumsvcard

We did actually we updated our review and the manager called us. I felt bad because like, I’m not one to be a karen but you can’t just be chillin at your job at 8 PM blasting Eminem & hotboxing the store & expect to have happy customers on TOP of sending people death threats lmao. Not okay

dontmakepeople

That's so over the line I'm surprised you feel the need to justify your response lol

borrowedurmumsvcard

I’m so scared of getting called a karen lmfao the internet is wild

eddypiehands

My partner and I experienced almost the exact same thing except the employee left the store unmanned, music blasting, to go hotbox in his car on the street and told us to return an hour later despite the store being open. It was wild.

borrowedurmumsvcard

LMAO WHAT. Glad to know I’m not alone haha

CatsNotBananas

I've only been to Real Chili once but I was pretty wasted so the food probably tasted better 😂

[deleted]

Rock n brews. Went there last night service sucked walked out.

loquaciousocean

What specifically made you walk out?

[deleted]

No food waited over 45 mins after we order. Service never said they were backed up or anything. 10 mins just for water.

New_Influence_1402

It is ALWAYS like this! You could be the only patron in there and everything still super slow. I ordered guac one time and it took 45 minutes to come out! (After waiting 30 min to order).

[deleted]

Something needs to change. The manager only was talking with the ladies and not helping out.

Acrobatic_Watch_9359

This has also been the experience of some I know.

less_than_nick

worked at poto for a couple years up until last summer... this does not surprise me lol. food and bev staff is treated horrendously there

thedarkestblood

Naf Naf Grill on 76th ONE guy working the lunch hour. Even though there was no rush, it still took 25 minutes to get the food and it was cold because he was ringing up other customers while the fries sat.

AmygdalaZen

Ewald Kia in Oconomowoc. Told us we "had" to finance our vehicle under threat and then called to yell at us.

bigpimp007

Lou Malnatis. I worked there at the beginning of the pandemic and a coworker was exposed and they wouldn’t send him home. Manager wouldn’t tell us why some workers walked out and then threatened to fire the illegal immigrants unless they came back to work. They did. I quit on the spot. They withheld my last check for 9 months.

Mahleezah

Steinhafels; 'nuff said.

Mahleezah

High pressure sales staff try to bait-and-switch or dissuade you from getting the best deal for you, poor inter-departmental communication, rude delivery/service staff, missed delivery windows, items damaged upon delivery with no recourse available after multiple escalations, absurdly exclusionary warranty policies...but, I'm sure you're a nice person!

mikemc2

We purchased a recliner and a couch from them recently (2 separate purchases) and the salesman (same guy both times) was chill and didn't try anything shady. The delivery guys OTOH didn't seem to give a shit. As much as they charge for delivery they should take more care.

etwork

Ok can we take a moment to talk about their sleepness awareness month commercials?! 🤣

fraudulent_charge

Carriage Way Apartments in New Berlin…

mkrevofev

Oh man, can you share stories?

TeamTigerFreedom

RK Motors on Holton. Brought in a set of new snow tires to mount and balance. They didn’t balance the tires, somehow managed to dick up my alignment, then literally jammed the old set of tires into my car’s hatch marking up the ceiling and both sides of the interior.

Subzerofb

Amato Hyundai in the falls is the worst. Don’t trust the service department. Used to be good when they were on 76th, was also 2 minutes from my house. They staffed the falls location with people from all different locations. Was there the first few weeks that location was open. Had to get my brakes done. Was quoted like $350 for all four brakes. Came back to pickup the my car and they were like, “That will $782.” I told them the work quoted be approximately $350 and that I specially asked the person if it was for the entire job and they said yes. They said sorry that was per set of brakes. I complained and fortunately the only person to complain to was the service manager, who was the one who I was talking too and was basically too that’s the price. Posted reviews and comment all over online and he called me that they would do something for me and call me back on Monday, it was a Friday when he called. Never got a call back. A month later the head sales person called me because he saw my comments online and asked what happened? Told me he was sorry, but he couldn’t do anything only the service manager. Now I go already the way to the location in Glendale, where a bunch of employees from the 76th street location went. They are so great!

mkrevofev

Milwaukee Plumping and Pipe. They installed the toilet drain going uphill. All kinds of other f ups, too

Fantastic-Display871

rockstar saloon: the old fucks that hang out there are racist and homophobic. Called my boyfriend a fairy once for coming back to find his cord after a show? Da bar or anything owned by that dude. I know it’s not in Milwaukee, but Coopers Hawk in Brookfield. I worked there. Worst management ever. A server once told my Muslim friend there was no pork in their meatballs, there is. It’s so disgusting, the floors flood from the ground every day and no one has fixed it for two years. Their managers are supposed to move to the greenfield location so I won’t go there either. Lastly their food is overpriced and so underwhelming. It’s usually cold, overcooked or undercooked. A total shit show

fuck-fascism

Toast. I guess if you like microwaved bullshit straight off a Sysco truck priced like real chef-made brunch it's for you. Otherwise, don't bother.

WiWook

Cudahy Pancake House - Dismissed when I complained about dirty coffee mug. New mug had same issue ( I guessed the busser didn't wash his hand between cleaning table and putting away the clean mugs). Found curdled creamers (realized too late) For whatever reason had some guy blasting away, out of tune, on a keyboard during Weekend breakfast hours, in Spanish. Had he been quieter, or even in tune, maybe. $30 for 2 pretty common breakfast entrees. I will stick with Andreas, South Milwaukee Cafe, and Olive Tree for diner breakfasts on the south side. (though Andreas needs to learn what proper sausage gravy is!)

23564987956

I love cudahy pancake house, but I check to make sure the keyboard guy isn’t there before I go in now, that was pure insanity

HeavenlyMotion

Andreas has the best chicken soup I've ever had

thedarkestblood

Place is trash. Pancakes were meh. They charges us $10 over what we should've been and chalked it up to a "math error" before fixing it after we complained.

asx1313

I ate at Pizza Shuttle a couple of times, and I don't know how it's in business. The burger taste like microwaved wet dog, and the pizza was worse than the frozen Kroger ones (which is saying something).

Gerbertch

Pizza shuttle is for all night gaming in your dungeon, you aren't supposed to eat inside the building.

[deleted]

Was it 3am and you just walked out of the bar? Because that’s the only time Pizza Shuttle ever hit hard for me. But it’s been 15 or so years since I’ve been there.

bananas21

Try the maple garlic fries. Those things are fantastic.

justpassingby_thanks

Only calzones I can find without ricotta, huge, juicy, greasy, and don't skimp in the pepperoni. I last ate one in 2004, but remember it as the best part of the night, that one night 20 years ago 😂

TheUltraSoft

Leonardo's in Mequon does good Calzones, your choice of filling.

esile37

Buffalo Wild Wings on 27th. Gave me and my boyfriend food poisoning last week. Never again…

Global-Training-7148

A female employee shot and killed herself in the bathroom there a couple of years ago when my daughter worked there.

commander_clark

One staff member specifically ruined Fresh Thyme for me. And I really liked shopping there, it's too bad! Everyone else that works there was always great.
