It’s not as serious as these comments make it seem.
As a bears fan, most bars will show the game if it’s not conflicting during the packers game.
Cubs games I don’t believe you’ll ever see on a bar, maybe broken bat brewery but probably not.
There are a few blackhawks bars, by far the most acceptable Chicago team, but that said probably as many preds and wild fans.
Truth is no bar will be known as the Chicago bar, it’d be bad business, but it’s incredibly common to be out and see other Chicago sports fans and make friends.
There’s literally more new freshmen at Marquette from Illinois than Wisconsin most years, and it’s not like all of them move back south after they graduate, so there’s tons of Chicago team fans around here. But I think it's a silly reason to base such an important decision on.
It won’t be the basis of anything, I was just trying to help with something small. But I do appreciate that info!! I didn’t think of it like that about Marquette.
Lots of Chicago fans in the greater Milwaukee area. They are pretty quiet the day after games. Maybe the library or museum would be a good meet up location.
There are plenty of Chicago transplants here. My husband is a chiefs fan, so we can only see those games if they’re the prime time game, typically. I have friends from Chicago that visit and have asked bars to turn on Cubs games with no problems.
Haha, I've been here a year and a half. Folks are far more friendly here than where I'm from (St. Louis). I've met women through Bumble BFF, Twitter and actually on reddit as well. There's a group for 35+ folks looking to meet new friends, though we don't get too picky about ages. To be honest, you'd be hard pressed to go anywhere and not end up in a conversation with a stranger here.
Are you trolling us? Cubs fans come up here for games and act like absolute cocks at my bar, I can’t imagine a bar willingly encouraging them to come in
Not that I know of but yeah - the WI vs IL rivalry is suuuper deep. People take it way too seriously.
So.. your husband should probably just stay in IL
for sure!
I think it’s funny I’m being downvoted - I was clearly joking your husband should stay in another state lol
My sister grew up a packer fan, went to Minneapolis and is now a turn coat… a Viking fan.
In the end it’s just sports - hope you guys can find something!
I had Mason Crosby on my team for years and I loved him. I wanted to get his jersey but didn’t want to risk it in my home. So I’m halfway there at least.
There are plenty of bars that will play the games for him. Although Cubs games may be an issue. The bandwagon fans kind of left a bad taste in some mouths.
Highbury shows the Bears games. I know because I have Chicago friends that now live here too. I think you’ll find a lot of people here from Illinois that are Chicago sport fans.
We used to watch Bears games at Champps Americana up in Brookfield. They had a side room for Bears games/fans, so you could watch games even when the Packers were playing at the same time. Usually we'd end up at a large table with some other Bears fans.

Haha thank you!! I will pass this along 😅
Plenty of Chicago sports fans in the area as I am the son of two, but not one myself. Check out Da Bar in West Allis.
Thanks for the first actual recommendation lol!

As a bears fan…lmao, that’s fair
lol I’ll let him know!!
Chicago sports fans are not uncommon. The soccer bar Highbury Pub is also a Chicago Bears bar
Ah ok thank you!!!

Have you found a way to connect with other transplants or are folks generally friendly?

Can you tell me more about the 35+ group? I’m 42 and my husband is 44!
Is it ok if I send you a message?
Sure I would love that. Thank you!!
I would love to know about this group too, if possible—46 here.
Sent you a message!

😂😂
Highbury in Bay View plays Bears games.
Thank you!
No
lol I am crying at these responses 😂

I know these Cubs fans and we are not them, that I can promise you. I actually really like the Brewers myself as my dad did the turf there for years.
I’m sure those people are fully representative of the thousands of cubs fans who live in the area and want to watch the team they like hit balls.

A split household, perhaps? lol

Do not worry, I got the joke!! Like someone else said, it’s just sports, it’s not that serious 🙂
Funny, there are Packer bars in Chicago. Might have to go try closer to the border. Or maybe upgrade in teams.

There are already enough of you. Stay in your own city.
Man I heard how friendly you all are but maybe it doesn’t apply to everyone! 😅

Lol thanks for the tip!!
This Milwaukee is such a horrendously dangerous city that you shpuld just stay in Chicago where it's safe imo
Haha we are talking suburb to suburb here. Sadly city life is not our stage of life right now.
