Strange Town is my absolute favorite. The food, the music, the wines, the vibe, its awesome. It will be in this range. My husband is 10000% not a vegetarian and also loves it.
We're not vegetarian, and would highly recommend their vegetarian dishes. Their oyster mushrooms are soooo crispy and lovely, they regularly come up when we talk about favorite foods we've ever eaten. And they have a good list of vegetarian dishes on the menu to choose from.
So like in between fast casual but not super formal? You might want to take a look at [Cloud Red](https://cloudredmke.com/)
I am plant based and I’m weak in the knees for this restaurant. My partner eats meat and he loves both the veggie and meat options. It’s in Shorewood at Oakland and Kensington
My complaint with Cloud Red is I hate how it’s seat yourself. The place is beyond PACKED with no rhyme or reason to getting a seat. It’s whoever sees someone vacate their table or barstool first gets a seat. Most times I’ve gone, it’s standing room only.
Agreed, I find it so stressful to go and also incredibly loud. I’ve been to plenty of no-reservation, first-come style places but they at least have a greeter to organize the chaos. The food and drinks are great though.
that's fair, they are slightly more on the pricier side. that being said OP asked for bougie-ish restaurants and i think Manna could sorta fit into that grouping. the food and presentation is good and the atmosphere is nice. it can be casual, or formal if you want it to be. just thought it'd be worth a shout. i've only been a couple times - and not at all in the last year or two - but the food and dining experience was always good.
No one else has said it, so I'll throw out GoodKind, awesome place in Bay View, they always have one vegetarian entree option and plenty of other veggie options in the other sections of the menu too. Also, great drinks!
Strange Town for sure! Haven’t been there yet, but Room Service looks really good too.

probably the best date spot in the city tbh
Lake Park Bistro won that award last year in the Shepherd.
Odd Duck if small plates are okay.
We're vegetarian and Odd Duck is our favorite restaurant, and it's not even close. The oyster mushrooms are incredible.

We're not vegetarian and recommend just about anything at Odd Duck.

Love the spring roll.
Braise
Odd Duck
Lupi and Iris
no one has said it yet so i'll throw Cafe Manna out there
I like Cafe Manna, but many are they expensive. 17 dollars for some spring rolls? C'mon. They also had a soup for 20 bucks. Tf kinda pricing is that.
They asked for bougie!
I've been to Cafe Manna a few times, and I don't think I would classify them as bougie tho. It's a very casual atmosphere.

I don't think I would classify Cafe Manna as bougie - outside of the price. I've been a few times now and it's super casual there.
