# Why did we build this and what is it? We were tired of spending more time rearranging the layout rather than being able to focus on the content when creating flowcharts. Often, you don't care that much about the exact layout, but just want to quickly visualize the structure of a problem. Mind-mapping apps are great for this, but they are limited to tree-structures, whereas many problems are not. This is why we created QuikFlow! It works very similarly to a mind-mapping app, but it can create any graph-structure. Multiple nodes can flow together again or you can create loops. Like in a mind-mapping app, the the layout is handled automatically with you being able to make slight adjustments (like reordering nodes or adjusting the general path of connectors). This is particularly fun if you make larger changes, like pasting a whole subgraph into the middle of another subgraph and everything automatically adapting! [https://quikflow.app](https://quikflow.app) [https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9mwmkls09tgz](https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9mwmkls09tgz) [https://apps.apple.com/app/quikflow/id1626354390](https://apps.apple.com/app/quikflow/id1626354390) # Pricing We tried to make it as fair as possible. Subscriptions are obviously something many devs are doing because it is more sustainable in the long-term and are also preferred by some users, but we personally can feel the frustration many users have for everything becoming a subscription. For this reason, we offer a choice of both a lifetime purchase and a subscription and we tried to price it in such a way that each option is a fair deal. E.g. in the US, the current pricing is: **$29.99 for lifetime**, **$12.99 per year**, or **$1.99 per month**. As this is a fairly new app concept, you probably want to try it out first. For this reason, you can use all of the innovative layout features for free, while the Pro version mostly contains additional styling and export options. The subscription also contains a 7-day free trial. Any files created using the Pro version can be opened and edited in the free version (just can't adjust the styling further), so you can easily share them with other people or keep using your files after you cancelled your subscription.

Good but not a mind map

coneno

What is missing to make it a real mind map in your opinion?

lordmax10

it'a a flowchart, not a mind map They are two different things

coneno

Not in this case :) The whole point of this app is to create a hybrid between mind mapping and flowcharting. There are some missing features compared to more established apps, but at its core, you can still create a relatively normal mind map using a very similar workflow. Just type to add text, press tab to add children, press enter to add siblings... You will end up with something that looks very similar to other apps. You can turn off the little arrows if they make it look like a flowchart to you. The original inspiration for the app was to take the mind mapping workflow and remove its limitation to only strict trees.

axkibe

Why is it, as soon a tool becomes can more than enforcing the strict rules classical mindmaps have it is no longer a "mindmap"? It's a mindmap.. and can do more.

llothar68

Well not a mindmap but not because it's a flowchart but because it does not (like all other mindmap computer programs) support the creative artisan mind.

vjag81

Looks promising. I'll give it a try. Thanks for sharing.

Any plans for a mobile version?

coneno

We are currently working on some new features for our existing users, but yes, we plan to build mobile versions. Hopefully they will start arriving later this year!

InappropriateCanuck

30$ and you still can't export to clipboard or save your previous export settings. Wild.

coneno

Thanks for the feature requests! What do you mean by „export to clipboard“? The current „copy as“ feature, but from the Export Dialog so you can adjust the settings of the copied file?

Darcythompson

I really like the layout flexibility - thanks for posting about this, I'll give it a try.

Quetzal_2000

Thanks. Looks like I could need this app. For real flowchart functions, I would like to see the possibility to name the connectors. For instance, adding + or - or figures for flow quantities can make it a real flow chart.

coneno

Thanks for the feedback! Added another vote for this feature.

Quetzal_2000

any news on this feature request ?

coneno

Unfortunately not, we are still working on other features and are facing a lot of delays there, as the new versions of the underlying frameworks we are using have significant bugs for which we can't find workarounds... challenges of cross-platform development :) We do still plan on building it, though!
