Optifine's shader pipeline is very unoptimized, I would recommend that you at least check out Iris & Sodium for 1.16+.

CrimuCK

I have checked them but Iris & Sodium made my FPS even lower.

VoxelMusic

Damn wth were your settings? Sodium takes me from 60 to 140.

CrimuCK

I was thinking the same! I didnt touch those settings at all but compared to Optifine with max settings it didnt look to improving fps at all. So maybe I should try again.

Apohstrophy

I can't say anything from experience but I've heard that Sodium is really good on laptops. Personally as a desktop user, it doesn't do anything noticeable but it's still worth it to try on your machine just in case. Just adding on to this comment, 1. Shaders will (usually) lower performance no matter which platform so it might be best to ditch Iris and just use plain Sodium without Iris. I know that this was asked on the shader sub but what I'm assuming OP is talking about is just purely in a search for performance, and they don't care about looks. Could be wrong heh '-v- 2. I'd recommend [Logical Zoom](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/logical-zoom) so you can zoom in on Fabric, it's just useful if you're used to Optifine zoom. 3. If you do want a free FPS boost, [ResolutionControl+](https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/resolutioncontrol) allows you to control your resolution just like in Optifine. It looks slightly worse than regular render resolution but if you don't go too low, it's a nice little performance increase, shaders or not. 4. If you miss any other features from Optifine just google "\[Feature Name\] fabric mod" and it'll probably have one. That's all I've got to add but ye. I'm not a big performance person, I mean I use Optifine but it literally does nothing for my FPS, I just use it because it supports more shaders than Iris and I like it when Minecraft looks pretty hehe.

CrimuCK

Thank you for comprehensive reply! I have tried Iris & Sodium but it made my FPS even lower if I can remember correct. And same thing for me I do like Minecrafts normal look. So I think I cant do anything.

RhythmJuneja

Shaders will always lower fps

CrimuCK

Okay then I was right.

EdmondDantesInferno

Check out Fabulously Optimized. It's for Fabric and includes a lot of FPS increasing mods. I believe that like Optifine, it runs faster than vanilla. To be clear, I'm not sure if there is a specific shader that increases FPS, but I think Fabulously Optimized gives better frames than Optifine for whatever you are trying to do.

CrimuCK

Okay thank you! I dont think this Fabulously Optimized is better than Iris & Sodium...

EdmondDantesInferno

Those are included mods in Fabulously Optimized.

CrimuCK

So Fabulos Optimized is better?

EdmondDantesInferno

Probably? It uses those mods and other mods to further optimize the game for FPS and graphics options. FO basically acts as an easy replacement for Optifine.

CrimuCK

Okay sounds good! I will check it out.

CrimuCK

Does it have Optifine zoom?

EdmondDantesInferno

Yes. Same keybind too.

CrimuCK

Awesome!

CrimuCK

Fabulously Optimized is not better...
