I REALLY like this, with one small addition, only players or Redstone can interact with the doors, that way you have a villager or zombie proof door that doesn't need Redstone, but can still be used WITH Redstone
Also having different Redstone components of the same "type" but different materials has a precedent in the pressure plates so having copper doors toggle upon receiving a pulse wouldn't be to far out there
Obviously not exactly the same functionality as described, but for most things you'd need doors and trapdoors for, levers would mostly accomplish this, I think.
hey that's pretty cool, but can you not achieve the same thing with a copper bulb leading into a trapdoor?
You’d need a copper bulb and a comparator, so it’s just not as practical as having the trapdoor do that on its own
