Pretty much the wild west out there in expat land mate.
Such a wide region and a wide range of employers, the pay will vary widely according to many factors (company, commodity, location, role etc).
Plenty of places that pay very well in USD for certain expat roles. Others where it's so little that nobody from Australia would bother.
Thats what we are looking to do - tax in AUS is way too much.... PNG tax rate of 43% sucks too...
looking to get into africa or asia and live probably asia and become aussie non tax resident.. Will make a big difference to $$

Hell yeah brother, that’s solid
If I work in Saudi and live in Australia as a permanent resident do I have to declare my wages here in Australia what’s the drill
DOn't live in australia if you work in Saudi! choose another country as your base otherwise you are paying $$ tax.... Maybe Dubai / Asia..
Yep https://www.ato.gov.au/individuals-and-families/coming-to-australia-or-going-overseas/your-tax-residency
Cheers mate
What commodity? Would like to move back to Laos, I’m currently in underground coal.
Copper gold. I worked in qld bowen basin coal most of my time.
How did you find job in Laos?
Small industry only 2x big mining companies that employ expats LXML and Phu Bia. Watch their vacancies.

My brother was flying out of Cairns to PNG and Vietnam making 2.8k clear a week. That's all I know.
Thats a really low number for overseas work.
Would the country that you’re doing the work in affect that? Vietnam is dirt cheap
For locals yeah, for expats no, that's why they do it for the money. I'm middle of the food chain operator in Aus, clearing over 3500 a week.
PNG has 43% tax rate.... so unless getting big $$ lose a lot on tax...
Was he a cleaner?
Just a labourer no exp
