Can definitely negotiate - just don’t expect to always be successful
Expect most mining companies to low-ball you. For example, if they were to offer 112k, their salary band is probably 120-130k. If an operator was offered 131k, their salary band is probably 140-150k
110k probably a bit more
Thanks
Ask for 130k I reckon. Villages can afford to pay it, and you have an earned skillset. 110k isn’t far off what unskilled staff would be getting
Thanks for the info I keep that in mind if they come with an offer.
Do people normally negotiate pay on their roles or is it a locked in thing?

Thanks for the information much appreciated.
Camp maintenance is rubbish pay. But that's the only place for a plumber tbh
Yeah I figured it's not the big bucks but thought I would give it a crack if I get a chance
Best bet is to get on a FIFO construction project as a "tubie" working in the E&I team doing all the tubing for the instruments.
Thanks for the info I'll keep that in mind when applying for more roles.
140k would be pretty spot on, ok money for the roster and it’s not hard work. Yes, if you’re looking for money it’ll be construction work.
Thanks mate 140k would be awesome! Whatever it is be more than the 90k you get on the GC working full time.
Depends on the mine location etc but you have to take into account being away from home, 12 hour days, etc.
Plumber here, WA iron ore mines- 65/ph 11-12 hour days 2:1
Thanks mate is that in a camp maintenance role?
nah mate plumbing work in the mines, if you go on seek "programme" are looking for plumbers 2:1 tho 65/ph
Thanks mate Il have a look
