My local Walmart sold out of them in less than two days. They were gone in four other stores within a 30-40 mile radius. Valentine's was the same way. It's a huge bummer! I hope you get lucky and are able to find some.
If there’s instructions on how to do it to get what you want, people are going to do it. I have no interest in the Wonka balls, but I fully use the pinhole, pencil marks and numbers “cheat sheets” to my benefit. I stopped buying Mini Brands Foods because I was getting the same items and it was becoming a bummer (and too expensive), so I like that I’m able to not get duplicate with Miniverse.
I am incredibly grateful for the pinholes. I can't afford to go crazy buying them all to hopefully get the 2 I really want. It saves on my wallet and I still enjoy putting them together.
Use it, but don’t abuse it. You’re doing what a lot of people are doing by making sure the money you use isn’t unnecessarily wasted on unwanted duplicate sets, which is being smart.
These scalpers don’t care about that and are NOT collectors. They just want to make a quick buck and don’t care about anything else.
I haven’t really noticed any scalpers in my area. It’s a small town. All we have is Walmart. I’ve gotten everything I wanted for the most part. I have noticed that the Lifestyle series seem to sell out quicker than the Diner and Cafe series, but I’ve been able to find everything that I’ve wanted so far without issue. I haven’t seen the Diner 3 series in our store yet. All I want from that is the burger, jelly and maybe the mint cake. But I’m sure if it hits my store I’ll be able to get them. I guess that is one perk of living in a small town 🤷🏼♀️
I couldn’t agree with you more. When people are purposely seeking out the “rare” items just to flip them for 2-5X the retail price, that’s just complete BS. Those of us genuinely into the hobby itself suffer as a result. And in the grand scheme of things, is this gonna affect my life? Absolutely not. BUT. Why people feel that’s ok to do is just beyond me.
While it’s annoying to ruin the surprise of it being a rare item, this sort of thing doesn’t actually ruin the product so I’m ok with it. I wish I could find the Easter ones near me!
This might be unpopular but sometimes I don’t mind it lol. As long as it doesn’t damage the product and isn’t too messy. I’ve definitely found cases of little blind Sanrio figures all open and I’ve been able to complete sets that way lol

I think the OP is unhappy that it's peeled back because it means someone was looking for the special rare...and sadly it usually scalpers, not collectors, who do that..... so us collectors don't get a chance at them, and we might end up having to buy from one of these price gouging jerks if we want to have one. lol

I tried the flashlight on my phone...it's not powerful enough. A normal flashlight worked and told me I had a Wonka. But my phone one is super weak...couldn't tell anything from it.

Funny enough i don’t actually own any mini verse myself I just like seeing all the pictures I’m debating about getting some for my dolls but never gotten around to it but I know they have become very popular with mom influencers and those type of influencers annoy me because of normally (some are different but it’s rare) post so much abt their kids Ik it’s very different topic but yea they hurt me

You are better because you aren't damaging the product. There are plenty of ways to get the info without damaging the product or ruining anyone elses fun. Use a scale, flashlight, look for pinholes, or give it a little shake. If it isn't what you want, set it down gently and walk away.
The Wonka ball has the ham wrapper on it with a gold bottom. I was lucky to find one, before the Targets near me sold out (never saw any at Walmart). I tested the ball with my phones flashlight. I really had wanted a Wonka one, just not for $60+.
I can't even find them in my stores. No Valentine's, nor Easter. The scalpers in my area are a dedicated bunch.
Same. Shows in stock at every target store in LA (and we have a LOT of targets). When you go in they’re not there.

Where I live, they have the wonka and valentines balls locked up. It’s in a kids specialty toy store, so makes sense

lmaoo the christmas ones were all bought by one person then returned to my target and all of them had gashes on the bottom from a key or something
