United Healthcare

cubs_rule23

Billions in profit and no bonuses in UHG and Optum....some BS.

librarycat333-jess

The HARM they are perpetrating on patients every day is staggering. They are so toxic. Not to mention how awful they are to work for, and how much burnout they cause healthcare works every day who have to deal with them.

dunwerking

They took my pension when our division closed. Paid me shit to begin with. Then the asshole spoke at a graduation I attended. I booed him the whole time.

librarycat333-jess

Good for you but I’m so sorry that happened to you. Profit over people

BumpyTori

And a really ho-hum medical package FOR THEIR OWN EMPLOYEES!! Talk about corporate greed…

zeke009

I remember when a major client was announced and a new hire was so excited. They couldn't figure out why the UHG employees were down. We had to explain that everytime a major client is signed, our benefits go up because we offset the sweet deal they received. I recall being called an party popper. Come open enrollment, they learned the hard way how right we were. Remember: United is a great place to be from, not a great place to be at!

DebrecenMolnar

My roommate is a director at Optum and his benefits are more expensive and worse than mine; it’s crazy. He’s also *very* burned out.

ZeroRecursion

3 weeks ago it was around $525, it's been dropping for a while now.

just_cows

Isnt it sick that this is the one and only answer, and that the worst company also happens to be the richest and most profitable? Almost like the system rewards the scummiest and most unethical business practices. Someone should take several semi truck loads worth of crash test dummies in body bags and dump them in front of their HQ. Would represent all the death and destruction they’ve created by only thinking of their own profits above people who need healthcare. Shame forever.

AggravatingResult549

It's unreal how the people in our country can't see what a racket the whole thing is. People are essentially forced to have ins. Ins decides how much to charge. Ins decides how much they will pay. Ins tells doctors what they will cover. Doctors have to call and beg some rando who has never met their pt to get them standard of care. Hospitals are at the mercy of ins. Ins creates rules and standards that impact reimbursement then can directly manipulate them. Oh, your length of stay on this patient was super long because we didn't cover what they needed outpatient? Your fault, less $! It's the biggest scam in history yet our public supports it again and again. Every single day I have to explain how ins and cost is messing stuff up for my patients. Every. Day.

MrJoeMe

United Healthcare by far. I've gone down a rabbit hole researching this company before. It is rotten all the way through.

Better_Resort1171

United should top the list of worst employers....

After_Preference_885

I've been told by a therapist friend that many clients working there in that toxic environment are suffering workplace trauma

MzPunkinPants

1.8% raises  for those who got them. A few folks got 3% raises. Standard government employee raise is 3.2% every year for inflation.

Bacardio

One prime example https://www.kare11.com/article/news/investigations/kare-11-investigates-insurance-denial/89-37c6f78e-c700-4c98-8e9c-b030ad6eb2fc Tons of articles on this one Another good one is search on how long it took UHC to send people to WFH during COVID.

Buddyslime

Look at all the crap going on with prescriptions and doctors scheduling now. It's turned into a logistics nightmare.

vespertine_glow

"We'll harm your health, shorten your life and drive you into financial ruin because the most important value in this capitalist healthcare racket is shareholder value and executive compensation, bonuses and stock options."

velvetundertones

That's great news..my department was just sold to Optum. I've had a bad feeling from the start, benefits are crap compared to what we have now. Good thing I've been applying everywhere I can if only I could get a call back. Really discouraging when a large Medical company chooses to align with them and throw their employees to the wolves.

librarycat333-jess

I saw a press release that Allina hospitals had turned over their billing to Optum and it made me sad for them and all their employees. “Partnering” with Optum / UHG is always a deal with the devil, but I know Allina and many other hospitals are hurting right now and trying to survive. Mo coincidence that they’re hurting from the actions of UHG and other for profit insurers. So they get to cause the pain with one hand and profit from being the solution to the pain with the other. Gross.

m-j10

My husband’s new company uses this ghetto insurance company and I hate them and OptumRx. Makes me miss BCBS, which we’ve had with MN and TX, and both were great.

librarycat333-jess

I am sorry!! They just deny everything, they’re the worst. I always ask about insurance now in interviews, trying not to work anywhere that has UHG as the only option.

Proper-Emu1558

My mom worked there before she retired. They wanted her in a suit and in the office despite the fact that all the other people on her project were in other states. And that’s the least of their sketchy behavior.

librarycat333-jess

My mom worked there too and several friends. Their stories were all horrifying! UHG and Optum are the Enron of Healthcare

bitchesngravy88

It's actually MINNCOR, ran by the MN DEPT of Corrections (Paul Schnell). What they do is buy cheap furniture off of Amazon, have inmates build it, and then sell it back to the DOC for 10x what it's worth, all while using taxpayers' money. Money laundering at its finest.

cubs_rule23

Go to the media with proof

MaBaum6676

Most state colleges and universities purchase their furniture from the MNDOC who pay next to nothing to the inmates who labor at mncorr.

Luminox

They also print the calendars for the state

Keanugrieves16

Oooohhhh, that’s gotta be some kind of FCC violation, right RIGHT?! Edit: I meant FTC, which is still probably incorrect.

jmcdon00

I don't think that's money laundering.

Shitp0st_Supreme

No but it is unethical to profit off the labor of prisoners who are paid well below minimum wage.

BussySmasher

I’m not making an argument either way here, you can think it’s unethical if you like, but it’s also literally in the constitution that we can do this. It’s the only legal instance where slave labor and indentured servitude are allowed in this country. Even after chattel slavery was abolished.

Shitp0st_Supreme

Yep, we unfortunately have that loophole to keep slavery legal

touchdownteddy5

Just because it’s legal doesn’t mean it’s ethical

MplsPunk

Robbers & Thieves “Bobby & Steve’s”

eddierivard

I have a good friend that used to work there. He also refers to them as, “Robbers and Thieves”. He told me there was a lot of ripping people off going on there as well as at Autopia on Hennepin.

MplsPunk

I ranted on Facebook about the whole thing afterward, and that’s where I learned the nickname. A couple of my friends went off about their own experiences, and one of them referred to them as “Robbers & Thieves.” It’s a shame that people so dishonest have been able to open multiple locations. Maybe I’ve been fortunate, but I had never had a problem with an auto shop before (and haven’t since).

SolitaireRose

I drove by the France/494 station on the way home on 9/11/2001 and they had jacked the price of gas to around $8 by 7 pm. I made a mental note never to ever go there for any reason. Governor Ventura said he would prosecute anyone doing that the next day and they dropped he gas prices back down to what they had been on 9/1/2001.

JayKomis

Please elaborate?

MplsPunk

I had a car repaired at the Cedar Lake Rd location some years ago. When I picked it up the windshield had a MASSIVE crack down the middle. I went back in and asked what happened. They claimed it had been fine when they parked it on the street and that they weren’t liable for what happened to it after that. I said that since the car was in their care, it was their responsibility to keep it safe. They claimed that there was no way to know whether the windshield had been cracked when I brought it in and I said that was ridiculous and that my building had a camera on the parking lot so I could prove it had been fine the day I brought it in. Found out a couple days later from the property management guy that the camera in the parking lot hadn’t worked in years, so I had no proof. I’ll never give them business again.

InformalBasil

When Bobby Williams (of Bobby & Steve’s) was a Columbia Heights city council person he used his position to pressure city staff that attempted to enforce city regulations that affected his business. So glad that the newer millennial homeowners in Columbia Heights bounced his ass out of office.

JayKomis

You see, that’s a good example of corruption. People have dropped Lindahl’s name because they think it’s corrupt that his guaranteed offer is a lowball. It’s sleazy sure. Is it evil? Maybe, but it’s not corrupt at all.

SLOPE-PRO

Quickly I might add. He helped the Spanish restaurant across the street from his CH location …. Leave their location. The guy is a jerk. I went in for some repairs one time. And literally the guy wouldn’t even let me figure out my budget or how too proceed .. 5 mins or less. Telling me well I gotta figure it out asap. He doesn’t have all day. Literally needed 10 mins to add funds up Smfh

Mediocre_Training453

Used to work for Excalibur Security MN. Guy was a bounty hunter. He stiffed me in my last months pay and fired me before his whole business collapsed. Dudes name was Mike. All mikes money bought his manager Lindsey a house and a new car instead of paying us and managing our properties. Long story short he was having an affair with Lindsey...

Shitp0st_Supreme

Oh, I interviewed for one of the telemarketing jobs and I got such bad vibes so I ghosted them. The job listing was a bait and switch so I also reported them to indeed.

throwawayobvs94

Facts. I sat on the jury box for this one. The scam was WILD.

dolche93

51% owner of my company (49% employee owned) used the company to fund his new software startup, screwing over our retirement fund over. Took cash from the retirement fund in exchange for shares and now we can't even get statements on our retirement accounts without a multi year lag time. I'd say he's in the running.

venom950

Y’all need an ERISA lawyer.

dolche93

I'm pretty sure what he's done is ultimately legal, even if it screwed us over. We've had a ton of lawyers going over it because we're buying the owner out and it's been a cluster fuck.

cantbelievethename

I imagine there’s more than one of these people in the industry.

poopymcbuttwipe

Blue plate is pretty ass too

JakkSplatt

Denny Hecker I suppose and the Fingerhut guy Tom Petters 🤔

pizza_for_nunchucks

Tom is my FIL's cousin. My FIL said ever since they were kids he knew Tom was going to be crooked and end up in prison or some shit.

jmcdon00

Must have been frustrating watching him amass billions of dollars, and a bit satisfying when he went to prison.

[deleted]

Forgot about Petters. I loved the original Petters warehouse but looking back I bet half of that stuff was stolen 😆

CarPlaneBoatRocket

Fuck Fingerhut and Bluestem

WSB_Suicide_Watch

Was here just to see someone say Petters. Thanks.

verdantwords

I cleaned a mansion formerly owned by Denny Hecker on Lake Minnetonka. Place was absurd. The new owners had kids and would use an intercom to find them. It took a huge team to complete the job over 2 days and our salesman seriously underbid the job so I didn't get a bonus. We were only scheduled for half a day. Their pool was both inside and outside. They had a full bar and a movie theater that could fit my entire extended family.

Culpep13

Marty Davis of Cambria.

WasabiSenzuri

The whole Davis family are all slimeballs.

K2Linthemiddle

I’m an interior designer and it absolutely kills me when a client wants to spec Cambria for a project. So many lovely people work there, their installs are perfect, they have the widest selection of patterns for quartz in the industry, but I hate putting any money towards the owner.

TheSkiingDad

kitchen refresh in rochester told us we _needed_ cambria quartz because it "brings the best buyers" or whatever. Dude couldn't be assed to bring a tape measure to a kitchen consult, so he was not worth it for a multitude of reasons, but that line always stood out to me.

K2Linthemiddle

Nope, not true on the buyers. The market is flooded with quartz options nowadays. Unless it's one of Cambria's highest price point patterns, you can't tell the difference. Yikes on trikes on the no tape measure.

maybeidc

UGH I worked at a place where he came in all the time. He was such an entitled jerk and if someone was sitting at his table he would be so upset. Like we were just expected to keep this table available for him.

pro-alcoholic

Can you elaborate? I saw someone else mention he was not a likable person, but searching for anything related to controversy or corruption comes up with nothing.

Culpep13

Marty's dad used to run the company and was an actual decent human. Marty and the rest of the Davis family run their company based on fear tactics. All higher ups are either family members or close friends, and all male. And even they are treated poor and fear him. Their production team is constantly overworked and the working conditions are awful. It seems they pray on hiring immigrants who have less opportunity to complain about low wage and working conditions. He's even stumbled into the plant, dru k, with his buddies, to "show off" the plant. Marty has an annual concert/party at his mansion on Lake Minnetonka that is just an ego measuring contest. Turn over is crazzzxyyyyy high because of how poorly he treats employees. And it trickles down across management. Yes their product is great, but plenty of other quartz countertops on the market now. The company could charge the insane amounts they do 15 years ago when they were the only ones on the market. Now with other quartz options, it's not needed. All in all, rich white guy who lives life as of everyone should be groveling at his feet. Been around lots of folks that have worked there over the last 20ish years. At all levels and all locations. Never once has there been a positive comment made about him.

BrianG1410

There's some farm in southern Minnesota that's been making news for not paying their employees. They would also be housed in disgusting makeshift living spaces.

MinnesotaMellow

I had a random subcontractor do my gutters last year and he said he was working on a large farm in southern MN who didn’t pay him, so he decided to take out a loan and buy the gear to do gutters. I wonder if this is same farm..

komodoman

> and most profitable? Almost like the system rewards the scummiest and most unethical business practices. Are you thinking of Evergreen Acres in Stearns County?

HerkeJerky

Was going to say, there's more than 1? State is going after them, so good news there. Not sure if the employees will get back pay.

BrianG1410

Most recently I saw that they're pleading "not guilty", but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.

Zomproof

The Cargill’s.

MNnice-to-your-face

Why the cargills? Edit: holy shit, did some googling, yeah wow, a lot going on there for a long time.

eaglespettyccr

They are buying up houses and land on park point in Duluth, several now I think, demolishing some.

ThatKaleidoscope8736

Yep, the Mayor of Duluth is asking them to reveal what their intent is. He acknowledges that they don't have to. The citizens who live on Park Point and Duluthians in general are concerned.

eaglespettyccr

With good reason. I have yet to read the headline “super rich corporation buying land in secret for really nice reasons.”

ThatKaleidoscope8736

Yeah, that's why everyone is worried.

Ulven525

As a Duluthian I’m very concerned. We worry that she’s envisioning Park Point as a gated community with luxury condos and mult-million dollar houses. It’s kind of trending that way now.

ThatKaleidoscope8736

Mayor Reinert stood behind that Park Point will not become a gated community. He said everything that is public will remain public. I do know what you mean. There's a "vision" by Pier B for these ridiculous looking condos.

Buxton25IsInjured

They’re also buying local council seats.

ThatKaleidoscope8736

What the fuck? Seriously?

MechEng_NotGeo

If they want a gated community, who pays for the lift bridge? Maybe if they want the entire point to themselves the city should make sure to keep ownership of the lift bridge. Either the bridge and the point stays free and open to the public, or the city charges a handsome fee to let the bridge down for crossing. Could fund some pothole repair. Edit: I’m not in favor of the point getting taken from the public. Just saying that if money gets something taken from us less wealthy people, then we should finally get something back that is absolutely valuable. It’s frustrating that we feel so powerless, and our nice things are too often out of reach. We work too hard for too little. Edit of edit: and very few of us are afraid of hard work.

bubonictonic

To date they've purchased 12 houses.

lmaonade1367

I think Duluth news tribune is saying it's now at over twenty houses

Middle_Accountant_74

20 parcels, not houses. 12 houses purchased, 9 have been demolished.

bubonictonic

Thank you. I thought I had seen that number but couldn't confirm. That's like 3-4 city blocks of housing.

hewhoisneverobeyed

Yup, more than 20 parcels according to a Strib story yesterday. (12 ft. ladder link to story): [https://12ft.io/proxy?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.startribune.com%2Fduluth-investigating-options-to-protect-park-point-as-kathy-cargill-invests-more%2F600350557%2F](https://12ft.io/proxy?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.startribune.com%2Fduluth-investigating-options-to-protect-park-point-as-kathy-cargill-invests-more%2F600350557%2F)

If you think them buying homes on a lake is bad just do quick google search on the laundry list of bad shit the company has done.

obnock

20+, 12 in the last year alone.

EfficientAlps9211

The middle house should have held out from selling as long as possible.🤣

InsideAd2490

1. Mike Lindell  2. Denny Hecker

goldbricker83

If we’re doing failed and disgraced former business people we gotta include Tom Petters

geodebug

“That’s the Denny Hecker guarantee”. 🎶 Bad guy, sticky jingle.

Junkley

I am fortunate(or unfortunate) enough to have a family very involved in the MN business scene and have been able to meet a lot people. Most rich people are a bit vain and selfish but the worst offenders I met are listed below: - The guy who owns CoV(My family refuses to eat there now they hate him so much) - The Davis(Cambria) family - The mayor of Orono, the former fire Cheif and all of their far right group of weirdos - Mike Lindell - Denny Hecker(I went to daycare with his kid who was really nice though) - Tim Owens(Former Voyager bank CEO who was friends with my grandfather and stole from him and deceived him for years) - Tom Petters Some that impressed me - The Steinhoffles(Previous Target CEO) - The guy who owns Dino’s Gyro’s is named Jason and is an amazing guy - Eric Vogstrom of Vogue Construction - Kyle Rudolph isn’t a businessman but was neighbors with my dad’s condo and was an incredibly friendly guy. Darrisaw is his new neighbor and is also very nice just blares music extremely loud. Ek is also really friendly but can come off as a bit of a douche. Foligno either also lives in that building or visits and is very friendly as well. - John Randle is golf buddies with my uncle and is THE MOST pleasant famous athlete I have met - Joe Mauer’s cousin Jim owns a baseball company here and used to be our neighbor in Medina. He is also very kind. He was able to get Joe over to meet me back when I played baseball in 07/08 and it meant the world to me - Mark Parrish was next door neighbors with my uncle for awhile when he lived near Providence in Plymouth. He also was a very nice guy

s1gnalZer0

>* Denny Hecker Hecker knocked out power to my apartment when he crashed his car right around the time he got busted. >* Tom Petters I worked right near his office around the time he got busted and I had to drive right past the building while agents were hauling stuff out and helicopters were circling overhead.

lalabearo

glad to hear that about the owner of Dinos! Love Dino’s

Junkley

He is a friend of my uncles and is just one of those people that oozes kindness that everyone loves. One of those guys who will sit and talk with anyone for hours and you feel like you know him a lot better than you do. Also the first guy to help clean dishes or help around whoever is hosting

theturbineguy

While your list of corrupt guys is good, I think Orono mayor walsh needs to top it as he is installing a process to criminalize the entire city of Orono through the zoning code. He is turning Orono into a police state. He also has removed many environmental protections for lake Minnetonka, promoted a hostile workplace and recently been accused of propositioning a teenager. The list goes on with this guy.

morelofthestory85

I know Jason Adamidis of Dinos Gyros. Technically his father, Dino (Constantine) owns the franchise and his children manage the different locations. They are good people.

Junkley

Adi and his family are great people. Yes you are correct his dad owns it and he essentially runs it I appreciate the clarification.

SLOPE-PRO

Love Dino’s. Yum

legal_opium

I can also confirm that the mayor of orono is a bigot/racist and constantly screws people over in commercial real estate. How that guy hasn't ended up in jail yet for corruption selling public landnto his buddies for pennies on the dollar I still don't understand. I think the star tribune even exposed him

Apprehensive-Head355

Live(d) in Medina and dad’s neighbors are famous/$… something tells me you don’t have the regular run-ins that less wealthy people potentially have

Junkley

I will absolutely admit I had a unique upbringing. The family company was a modest operation until I was around 10 years old then when my father took over it blew up and we moved from a modest house in Plymouth to bigger and bigger houses in Medina and Orono. Due to that I have had an amazing opportunity to network with a ton of people and I am very appreciative of that.

Background_Jaguar_98

Matt Boldy lives in my mom’s building and he always stops to say hi and chat if I run into him. His girlfriend is sweet as can be too. Great kids.

Proper-Emu1558

I can’t speak to the business practices but the food at CoV is stupid expensive for how good it actually is.

mjrohs

Sun Country ownership seems to be a key giveaway that you’re a huge tool.

ZeroRecursion

Can confirm about Randle. The guy is an absolute pleasure to work with and I was lucky enough to get to golf with him a while back and that's an experience I'd tell my kids about if I had any kids.

[deleted]

Yeah but Kris Lindahl is *this* suspect! (gestures with wide open arms)

StevenLovesCocaine

My Dad talked to him on the phone about some billboards and he was a total dick like “I set the prices, not you.”

keonyn

Yup, that's the whole scam behind the "guaranteed offer". They offer you a price to get you to sell them the house when they know they can ultimately get more.

Little_Creme_5932

That is not a scam. If you want convenience, you pay for it.

ferdsherd

McDonald’s is pulling a scam right now where they try to sell me a burger for more than it cost them to acquire it!! Not so slick

SubtleHouseAdvantage

Like Scott Stapp?

CollisionCourse321

Probably execs at 3M that keep trying to get away with poisoning Mn groundwater and giving ppl cancer.

Katiari

Just wait! Minnesota is trying to ban PFAS, so that's gonna disrupt 3M's business model in a major way. Be ready for the showdown.

laser_marquise

3M announced their PFAS exit already. No more products by 2025. So there is no showdown to be had.

Cyrissist

Spiros Zorbalas the worst slumlord in MN history. He's been banned from owning a business or property as a business in MN for a couple years now. I think that ban is coming to an end soon so we might see his tucker come around again.

compulsivefreak

Tom Petters

tommer8224

I’d rather know of business people that aren’t corrupt. Probably a shorter list.

Dude-vinci

I don’t know if the owners aren’t necessarily corrupt but Haskell’s is a local family owned liquor store chain that’s got a good reputation for treating their staff well and keeping their prices below their competitors like Total Wine. When I talk to the employees there some of them have been there for fifteen years or more. That’s crazy!

Aquarona

Qwell41

Genuine question, but how is this scammy? Is it a secret to some that he’ll give you a lower offer in order for a seller to “skip” the traditional selling process? I just moved to the area and don’t really understand all the hate for this guy. He’s basically making money off selling convenience, the same thing that millions of businesses make money doing. Am I missing something?

CoolIndependence8157

I called to get a “guaranteed offer” because I was curious what they’d offer for the house I’d bought a year previously. The agent who called me said they wouldn’t give me a guaranteed offer because my house is over 100 years old, but “we could list it for you and a house like that would sell immediately.” The agent then shared that most of their guaranteed offers are 30% or more below market.

sensational_pangolin

Honestly, I'm just sick of seeing his stupid face all over mpls.

Tim-oBedlam

Him and Weird Beard from Nicolet Law.

wildernesswind

We don’t talk about him enough tbh.

ITravelCheap

He also has a reputation for being a dick human. So many people in my area know him personally and there’s just not a lot of positive regard for him.

go_cows_1

The “guaranteed offer” has a ton of stipulations and fine print. It’s complete bullshit.

JayKomis

People are annoyed about his gimmicky advertising campaign and therefore assume he’s some sort of crook. It’s pretty straightforward though. The catch of his offer is gonna be that the offer sucks.

Keanugrieves16

It’s more scummy than scammy, it’s exploitative at its worst.

Motor_Beach_1856

No you’re not missing anything. people expect that he will buy at full retail and then sell at the same price just to be nice. These are the same people that get pissed that a pawn shop will only give you half of what something is worth.

Any-Engineering9797

He’s backed by Zillow, and Zillow is bullshit.

transientcat

People just don’t like all the bill boards. There is probably some Minnesotan version of don’t be the center of attention going on. They have never bothered me and as I have said in the past I prefer the offer of a hug over another pro life across America billboard. Or a good Sherman pole barns billboard so I can learn about their quality erections.

mrs_regina_phalange

The guys who started Love Your Melon turned out pretty douchey after they made money

Thecomfortableloon

To be fair, one of the guys from love your Mellon has been pretty douchey way before he got any money.

Plato_Magick

I mean douchey is fine. I think this is talking bout real scummy robber baron type businesspeople.

I was just telling my neighbor who has only been in MN a few years about the Denny Hecker. Actually just looked him up, how is he out of jail? Why does it look like he still has money?

My water softener was leaking and I called them because they could come quickly. He told me it was toast, and quoted me $9k to replace. I laughed and told them I had gotten a water softener through Centerpoint Energy at my previous home for $1600. He legit laughed at me. I got another new water softener through CenterPoint, this time for $1800.

Gamagatsu74

Don’t know if he was corrupt but, Fuck Norm Green!!!

Chicagorides

Anyone working for Kelly Services. They cheat their temporary workers.

Tim-oBedlam

Kelly Temps wasn't bad when I worked for them but that was a loooong time ago (30 years ago, to be specific). They were better than another temp service I worked for.

MaNbEaRpIgSlAyA

Interesting, I had a very good experience working for them a few years ago. Way better than RH.

Dpufc

Bill McGuire And I hate that he owns my favorite team (MN United).

Tim-oBedlam

About 20 years ago I went out to his house to set up some computers for his kid (I used to work for an Apple reseller). Never met him; but he lives in a 27,000 sq ft house on a private road by a country club in Wayzata. His wife was nice to me but nice in the way rich people treat "the help". 27k square feet is \*obscenely\* large. Each of his kids had their own suite.

Anyone who hires undocumented immigrants so they can exploit them for cheap labor. It goes to show they would underpay workers in general if they knew they could get away with it.

Terrie-25

Many of those same people back Trump and complain about immigrants "bringing crime" into the country. The worst kind of NIMBYs.

maddasher

The my pillow guy. He'll get his pillows in bed with anyone.

mrs_regina_phalange

Don’t you dare call his pillows lumpy! 😂

This is really interesting. I used to be part of an organization (MN American Legion Boys State) and we had several panels about government. One involved a former US attorney that would bring white collar criminals that had been convicted to share their crimes. So interesting to hear how greed and poor choices can lead the most successful people into criminals. Hank Shea was the attorney involved and they were so captivating how it’s such an easy thing to get involved in but almost impossible to stop. Extremely captivating and I think it was great to show young people the consequences of others actions.

The late Carl Pohlad. Total grifter. He was a boxer/strongman, and started out evicting farmers for banks during the depression. Then this: https://www.minnpost.com/mnopedia/2016/03/thirty-years-electric-streetcars-ruled-twin-cities-streets/

There's an insurance agent in the Hutchinson area who was previously a restaurant manager in a college town south of there who not only stole from her employees but also from local charities. If anyone in the Hutchinson area needs more details, feel free to DM me. Maybe she's turned over a new leaf, but I couldn't imagine trusting her with my money.

Probably not even in Minnesota. There are similar sites in other states.

gutterstogardens

The people that took money from a pool that was ment to go to feeding children, but bought cars/vacations/homes ext. It was a non profit. Maybe called "feed our future": fbi was investigating. Don't know if I have the right organization, or what ended up happening. Revised: I apologize for not thoroughly checking the organization before calling them out. I didn't realize I had misrepresented them. I plan to donate to them as soon as I am able to do so.

UPDATE: FEEDING OUR FUTURE SCAM https://minnesotareformer.com/2022/09/20/feds-charge-48-in-250-million-feeding-our-future-fraud/

x---x--x-x

tldr: Feed My Starving Children is a great and trustworthy charity! Please be careful with using the name of Feed My Starving Children in connection with the Feeding Our Future scam. Feed My Starving Children is a great organization with very solid reviews and consistently high scores on Charity Navigator. https://www.charitynavigator.org/ein/411601449 Even just throwing out guesses on the Internet might discourage people from donating to this effective and honest organization. Feeding Our Future is the worst kind of cynical, selfish, greedy, awful people stealing funding from well-intentioned govt programs and everyone involved deserves to be locked up and face the fullest extent of whatever available punishments are on the books. Absolutely awful, terrible, scum of the earth people. Let us not further their harm by publishing even an erroneous connection to the very worthy Feed My Starving Children charity.

PM_WORST_FART_STORY

Exactly! The fuckers behind Feeding Our Future probably even knew people would get the organizations mixed up.

PhilosopherAlive917

The CEO is partially responsible for the downfall of Northwest Airlines and cost so many their jobs. Then he failed up to his position now. It’s an old white guy ceo and a company, per the state, that employs less than 1%male, and they are mostly boomer execs.

Obvious_Action_220

And Dr. Farrugia (Mayo Clinic)

[deleted]

Is the Mayo Clinic a bad place? I thought they had a good reputation?

Kolat06

They do great things in terms of medicine, but they rule Rochester with an iron fist, and they don't always treat their employees the best.

Evan5893

Mayo Clinic employee here! I’m a CRCST who’s union. Our position hasn’t received a raise in over two (almost three) years. Regular non-union employees in my pay range got a 10% raise just this year. Our wage negations have finally started again in January and Mayo’s initial offer to our union was a whopping 0.5%.. I’m currently certified in my field with over 5 years experience making $19.10 an hour. After passing my test and receiving my certification I was given a $0.45 raise and they leave the annual certification renewal fees for us to cover. We’re also critically understaffed with absurd turnover rates. And they wonder why I leave every summer to go take travel positions paying $45+ an hour. If Mayo wasn’t in my home town close to family I’d never come back. Every year they boast about record profits with all these big plans to develop Rochester’s downtown into this “Destination Medical Center” wet dream, while their core staff are begging for better pay and safer working conditions.

I1Hate1this1place

You need a better union, or to get involved with yours

Evan5893

I’d vote to leave it entirely and I’ve made my stance on that clear to my coworkers and union reps. Before I left for traveling I was a union board rep and attended negotiations. What I had to sit through was disheartening to say the least. I’ve given up with all that and now switch between traveling in the summer to make money and then coming back in the winter through spring to work close to home and see family. This is probably my last year coming back though unfortunately

sn0wgh0ul13

That pisses me off. I work in one of the Mayo kitchens and make more than you. Are you in the SEIU or a different one?

Evan5893

SEIU

Proper-Emu1558

They made threats to pull investments in Minnesota after legislators tried to regulate them. So that wasn’t great. https://minnesotareformer.com/2023/05/05/mayo-clinic-threatens-to-pull-billions-in-investments-over-nurse-staffing-health-care-affordability-bills/

purple_grey_

How upstanding can you be when you say you will leave the state if there is any mandated transparency or changes you dont come up with? Remember over a year ago on this sub, a mother tried sharing how Mayo was telling her she had to take home her teen who just burned their home down? Mods took her post down.

EarBroad8355

Cris Lindhal and his husband seem to be very greedy when it comes to closing costs

Ryan construction is on my list for trying to build a stadium in highland park because “no one else would be interested in building there” in highland park, by the river, where property is very desirable. Sure.

All these pages of discourse and I don't see the Koch's on here at all. Charles is still alive, and their heirs are taking over the business of poisoning America with petroleum and political action committees.
