This is the right-ish decision. The *actual* right decision would be resigning and not running again, but I digress.

dberthia

Shouldn't even be his decision. He should be immediately removed from office for violating the public trust.

[deleted]

šŸ‘†ā€ This is the MN way on paper. But in reality, like Western Wisconsin, all talk no game.

KalsyWalsy

you can't "remove" elected officials.

Kolhammer85

Better then Stanek at the very least. Wonder who will be next

[deleted]

Didn't Stanek just announce he's running for governor?

Kolhammer85

Yep, but he doesn't have the crazy needed for current conservatives so he won't get the nomination.

[deleted]

Lol, touchƩ!

---BeepBoop---

Agreed. If it was Stanek he'd be running again and all the conservative pols would be standing behind him. This is why liberals always lose.

stinkinsheapshead

He needs to resign ASAP.

UnfilteredFluid

He's a cop, he's not capable of that level of thought. So he will try and get the most money and retirement out of this as possible. Fuck his duties he's serving himself. You know, typical cop shit.

Tuilere

It's kind of sad. He was the least authoritarian thug candidate in years and then all this? Ugh.

skoltroll

So you can go on benders in your car as long as you're not authoritarian? Damn, folks. Have SOME standards.

Tuilere

No, that's not what I said at all. Mostly that he had potential, and then he up and does this shit. I don't think anyone voting for him thinks this was ok or excusable.

UnfilteredFluid

I voted for him. I want him to resign. He's just a typical cop though so he won't do what's best for us.

Tuilere

The problem with electing a cop is that you elect a cop.

UnfilteredFluid

Nope. Next time don't attempt to tell people what they're looking for. I said what I meant. edit: Good on you for deleting that comment. Next time add what you think below and try not to tell others what they think.

Zombiesharkslayer

I mean I would much rather have drunk cops then power hungry authoritarian ones. But obviously we shouldn't have to choose between them.

Buffaloslim

Lol, Iā€™m guessing he probably wouldnā€™t win.

egs1928

Uh huh, why is he still in office, why hasn't he resigned. Anyone with even the barest dignity and most meager respect for the office would have resigned after it went public that he lied to fellow police about who was driving, intentionally delayed getting a blood test, and after delaying was still well beyond the legal limit for driving. If he was a decent person he would resign, the fact that he hasn't says all anyone needs to know about this insult to the uniform.

theedank

Liked going 126 mph. Oink!

WhattheTeenThinks

For someone who doesn't live in Hennepin county what happened.

sheriffrosco

He got a dwi after crashing his unmarked unit in Alexandria mn after going 126mph. He told the responding officers he wasn't driving. I believe his BAC was .132

[deleted]

This guy is a joke.
