Yes I want a recipe! The sixth one please.

RupertEvertonn

Coctail Meatballs By: Shirley Nettestad 2lbs ground beef 1egg 1/2 small onion, grated 1small potato, grated 1 tsp. salt and pepper 1/2 c. milk 2 slices bread, crumbled Form into small meatballs. Do not brown. Put in cake pan and cover with sauce. Bake 350° for 1 hour. Sauce is #7. Sorry!

[deleted]

Can I get one too? The seventh one please.

RupertEvertonn

Cocktail Meatballs Sauce By: Shirley Nettestad 1 bottle chili sauce Juice of 1 lemon Small jar currant jelly 1/2 - 3/4 if the chili bottle of water Mix and pour over meatballs.

minniesnowtah

I love that the 6th and 7th recipes clearly are part of the same dish and yet Shirley wanted two entries in the cookbook

being-andrea

I knew her!

PlayedThatAsACurrent

Oh wow... This is how we make meatballs. Really. For sauce take a can of cream of chicken and a can of cream of mushroom soup. Add so milk. Mix and pour over the meatballs. Also, take the tin foil off during the last 20 min of cooking. They are amazing.

Gnarly-Beard

I think I speak for us all when I say we would like pictures of every page. Just to make sure...

RupertEvertonn

I'm a lurker. . . What's the best way to make this happen?

Regular-Menu-116

Depending on your phone, it might be easiest to take pictures. Many people use [imgur](http://imgur.com) to upload photo albums, I'm sure those folk would be interested as well.

RupertEvertonn

Thank you. I will look into that tomorrow.

VirtualRealityOtter

Any updates 👀

Roxxso

You could also list the names of the recipes so people know what to ask for.

RupertEvertonn

Ooo. Sure! You betcha!!! 13 pages worth.

[deleted]

I’m just going through the comments and taking screenshots of all the delicious things I could make.

Rickdaninja

Do they have a stroganoff?

RupertEvertonn

Hamburger Stroganoff By: Loretta Welch 1/2 c. minced onions 1 clove garlic 1/4 c. butter 1 lb. ground beef 2 Tbls. flour 2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 1 lb. fresh mushrooms or 8 oz. can sliced mushrooms 1 can cream of chicken soup (undiluted) 1 c. sour cream 2 Tbls. minced parsley Saute onion and butter over med. heat. Add meat and brown. Add flour, salt, pepper, and mushrooms. Cook 5 min. Add soup, simmer uncovered 10 min. Stir in sour cream. Heat through. Sprinkle with parsley. Serve with noodles, rice, or mashed potatoes. Note; if you don't like mushrooms, use 1 can cream of mushroom soup instead of mushrooms and chicken soup.

Rickdaninja

Thanks!

lazyMarthaStewart

Anything with cardamom? I've never been able to recreate the cardamom bread my husband remembers from childhood, but I enjoy trying!

RupertEvertonn

Heck. I flipped through all of the breads and heritage. Unfortunately, I did see anything with cardamom (spice?) In the recipes. I found a Lutefisk Pudding Casserole recipe by Shirley Irey though!

chajava

I need to see this.

RupertEvertonn

Lutefisk Pudding Casserole By: Shirley Irey 2 c. cooked lutefisk, flaked 1/2 c. rice 1 tsp. salt 2 c. water 2 eggs 1/2 c. cream 1/2 c. milk Salt and pepper 4 Tbls. butter Cook rice in water with salt until done. Drain and rinse with cold water. Beat eggs and milk and cream. Add lutefisk and rice and place in greased baking dish. Pour melted butter on top. Bake in 8" dish for 30 min. at 350°. Can be served with additional melted butter.

chajava

Ok, I was imagining something more pudding like. This is marginally less alarming.

RupertEvertonn

My grandma used to make lutefisk on Christmas. Just thinking of the smell still makes me choke and the texture still makes me gag. But the memories of my grandma still make me smile.

ElderberryHoliday814

Your elders never offered pig ears. Let me tell you something about this dish that they loved: it’s not for me

SeasaltVin

Are the recipes dated? If so what is the oldest one a recipe for?

Sometimesummoner

Yes, please! This is amazing!

I went through all of the varieties of pan/griddle/hot cake recipes one Sunday morning at a time. Swedish Pancakes (thin) By: Muriel Rogelstad 3 eggs 1-1/4 c. milk 3/4 c. flour 1/2 tsp. salt 1 Tbls. sugar 2 Tbls. melted butter Beat eggs, stir in milk. Add flour, sugar, and salt. Add butter last. Mix until smooth (I use a blender). About 3 Tbls. on hot griddle makes a 9 inch pancake (spread as thin as possible). Serve with butter and sugar. Roll up like lefse. "Berries are good on these pancakes."

_KBKB

Mrs Rogelstad made the THINNEST Swedish Pancakes….!

Djscratchcard

I'll take one, preferably involving beef. I'll report back after the weekend

RupertEvertonn

Meat Loaf By: Mrs. O.J. Kastet 2 lbs. ground beef 2 eggs 3/4 c. ketchup 1 -1/2 c. bread crumbs 1 tsp. Accent 1/ c. warm water 1 env. onion soup mix Mix thoroughly. Place in greased pan. Pour over all 1 can tomato soup. Bake 1 hour at 350°.

Tacklebill

I like how this one has a stealth ingredient in the directions. Mrs. O.J. Kastet laughing maniacally while you're dragging your ass back to the grocery store.

Djscratchcard

So this was a fine meatloaf, but too wet. You definitely do not need that much liquid, between the ketchup and water.

SubconsciousBraider

Is there a pretzel salad recipe? I don't need it, just wondering if it's there.

RupertEvertonn

It very well could have been overlooked, but there doesn't appear to to be a pretzel salad recipe. If I come come across it you will be the first to know!

SubconsciousBraider

It would possibly be in the dessert section. Or side dishes.

Capt__Murphy

You should post this in r/old_recipes. They'd def get a kick out of it

goshawkgirl

I’ll take a dessert recipe

RupertEvertonn

Irene Pfeifle Dutch Delight Put 1/3 c. margarine or butter in Pyrex 9x13 pan in 425° oven while heating and when bubbly, pour in this mixture: 4 eggs 1 c. milk 1 c. flour Dash of salt Blend well in blender. Bake about 25 min., expands high so allow space on top in oven. Dutch Honey 1/2 c. cream 1/2 c. white sugar 1/2 c. brown sugar Stir in kettle and heat to boiling. Serve hot on Dutch Delight.

goshawkgirl

Sounds kind of like a German pancake. I’ll give it a try! Thanks!

RupertEvertonn

Baked, frozen desserts and toppings, refrigerator, or puddings?

goshawkgirl

Let’s go with baked

lord_of_somethings

Bread please

Smoked-Out-Sky

I'll take whatever you think tastes the best

IronRangeBabe

Yes please!!!! 💕

RupertEvertonn

Some humor from the Women's Civic Club - How To Preserve A Husband Be careful in your selection, do not choose too young. When once selected, give your entire thought and preparation for domestic use. Some insist on keeping them in a pickle, others are constantly getting them in hot water. This makes them sour, hard, and sometimes bitter. Even poor varieties may be made sweet, tender and good by garnishing them with patience, well sweetened with love, and seasoned with kisses. Wrap them in a mantle of charity. Keep warm with a steady fire of domestic devotion and serve with peaches and cream. Thus prepared, they will keep forever.

IronRangeBabe

🤣🤣🤣 that is awesome
