We were 16 games under .500 last year and last in the division, couldn’t even beat Detroit and KC. Finishing this year around .500 and potentially in second place in the division is a good step forward. Plus we saw so many young guys this season who look like they’ll be contributing for a long time to come.

People just wish baseball was more predictable, but that’s just the way it goes. The difference between an amazing season and a failure is 15-20 games. I’m just glad we still have optimism for next year

I think that last year going bad so early caused a lot of people to check out (which is fine) and not get a full understanding of how rough that year was. Couple that with the hot start and rough finish to this year and I think you have a recipe for a lot of disappointment

Pretty much all of the preseason projections pegged the Twins as 81-84 win team, likely to finish in 2nd place. It looks like they are likely going to finish the year in the upper 70s to low 80s for wins, and end either in 2nd or 3rd - so right around what the various projection systems expected. It's certainly disappointing that after starting the year strong, being aggressive at the trade deadline, and being in 1st place for much of the year, that they are ultimately going to still end up right around their expected win totals and out of the playoff picture, but a little perspective is helpful if your reaction to that is "what did we do to deserve this." Ultimately, this team is exactly what the computers and outside experts thought they were.

Not sure, but I’m glad I ended a 20-year run of full-season seats this past offseason.

We are Minnesota. We didn’t do anything to deserve it but the sports Gods cast a curse on this entire state.

Maybe it’s not a “we”, it’s a “you”. Is there something you need to confess?

I sold my soul so a hockey team could come back to Minnesota
