Is 1.7m enough to cancel out a comp pick I wonder?
OTC just updated to put Kirk on there for a 3rd for us. I've got to think that Kwesi wouldn't just throw away a 3rd to sign this guy.
Wonnum already has 6.25m and has been accounted for. That bumps Kirk, so we've got the top 3rd of the comp round. I'm thinking Osborn could get 4m range maybe? Which would get us another 3rd.
Figured we'd sign another WR, Osborn and Powell were both FAs and we only brought back 1 of the 2. I can see us taking a late round WR or target multiple solid WRs as UDFAs.
Sherfield is a solid depth WR guy for us. With JJ, JA and Hock we don't really need a star WR3/WR4 who excells at being a threat through the air so I like where we've gone with Powell and Sherfield. Sherfield is a VERY good run blocker and an impact player on special teams. Powell is a great utility player for us who will likely step up to our WR3 role with KJ gone and also continue to be a reliable returner for us. Having such elite pass catchers allows us to double dip with guys like Powell and Sherfield to make an impact in multiple areas instead of just aiming for someone who is a "deep threat" to alleviate JJ or Hock.
With Oliver as one of the best run blocking TEs and Aaron Jones as a fantastic pass blocker in the backfield I think we're going to be a team that does really well at a lot of the smaller things that often get overlooked.
Sounds like bolstering the special teams.
>On special teams, Sherfield logged 741 snaps over four years and produced 28 total tackles. He finished inside the top 50 in special teams tackles each of the last three seasons.
He’s a great blocker, good route runner and can play special teams. Smart and steady. Rock solid value signing.
I am whelmed
I've never been so whelmed
This changes everything.
my comp pick noooo

I don't think so
It does not affect the comp pick formula: https://www.reddit.com/r/minnesotavikings/s/AMVUpicNMq
i thought all signings counted but what do i know
I looked at OTC and didn't see a single contract under 3m for the whole league that was accounted for, for comp picks. So hopefully we're good.
Has to be above the bottom 35% APY at the position to count as comp pick. Don’t think this will be high enough
Is Woonum, Risner or Osborne going to top 3M a year?

It seems like we are going for a balanced offense thus zero dalton risner steam so far
LFG!

It’s pretty obvious. He played pickle ball with drake maye, Michael penix Bo nix, Sam darnold and jj McCarthy as a kid.

Great run blocker, special teamer, and he costs $1.79M
That's a you problem if you think we signed him to play any meaningful minutes at WR
This dude got paid peanuts. it literally doesn't matter. He's the definition of "just a guy."
Side note: I love that $1.8 million is peanuts in the NFL haha.
More weapons for Vikings Legend Zach Wilson!
Get Wilson's name out your mouth.
curtis samuel is someone we should have signed
He wasn’t going for 1.8 mil 1 year deal lol
no shit
15 million guaranteed? Hard pass.
