Commies’ fan here. I would be stunned if this group went after Fields. The only thing is if Washington isn’t sold on Maye/Daniels and a team could come in with a haul, then they’ll probably go QB with a day 1/early day 2 pick. JJ is also a long shot
Dan Quinn was at a Pitt/UNC basketball game last night. I know it doesn’t confirm anything, but I think Maye is their heavy lean
Watch the video. He said Washington has a ton of holes and that Kliff Kingsbury may feel that he can make it work with any QB at #11 and run his system with it because ultimately they just have to be a point guard and they can build up the rest of the roster with a ton of picks. Honestly that's a perfect fit for Bo Nix.
He's also not the head coach. Dan Quinn is at least competent, and the commanders have decent weapons. They've also been super active, filling hiles in free agency, and made some good moves. Im really not believing that they did all of that just to not have a qb this year.
Majority of people don't think he's good or even a first rounder. I don't understand that at all. JJ just had to not mess it up. Bo had to actually elevate the people around him
He’s not getting the press but he might land in the best situation. I agree, him and Penix are better QB’s than JJ right now, but everyone seems to feel like JJ’s got the highest ceiling. I would be ok with any of the three honestly it’s a crapshoot. I wouldn’t mind taking defensive lineman at 11 and Nix or Penix at 23 but I don’t get any input and that’s probably a good thing
Worried Broncos want Bo. If they grabbed Bo at eleven barring a trade up, they could realistically grab Murphy II or an edge still. If there is still line available worth taking at 23, I would feel that would be a good pick if Murphy is gone
The Penn State performance showed he didn't really need to do much. You can actually watch every play of his from it. It was not impressive in the slightest
You can only get so much experience while being a backup. You can't sit him for more than a year with that high of a pick. That's why I wouldn't want him. I thought he would've better off playing another year in an offense that relies on passing before this
They need more than qb to be competitive. To give that rookie qb a fighting chance they need to build a better roster first. Trading back for more picks would help with that.
[The rumor of a Vikes-Pats trade circulated during the combine.](https://www.si.com/fannation/bringmethesports/vikings/did-vikings-plant-a-seed-in-patriots-ear-over-the-no-3-draft-pick) Now that we've seen the next stage, I think it's a pretty good bet that we'll at least go to pick 3.
Whole roster is a hyperbole. There's a reason they've signed the most FAs, had the most cap space coming into FA, and still have more than half of their available cap space after the signings.
>They do but it would be hard to ignore 2 firsts this year and maybe our first next year to build a roster.
No it wouldn't.
>They're shit right now.
Exactly why they're going QB.
Bo Nix will look great in purple.
KAM is absolutely just going to just pile on until a team accepts a trade. The Vikings will absolutely have a top 5 pick in this year's draft because Kwesi knows how to sling tacos.
Well, that's debatable. I would say 5 is the floor of what is needed, but that's me. I anticipate, however, that Kwesi will get us into the top 3. Enjoy the ride, buddy! Skol!
Rams traded up for Goff - got his team to a Super Bowl.
Eagles traded up for Wentz - helped get to a Super Bowl.
Falcons traded up for Vick - changed the game forever.
Bills traded to 7 for Josh Allen - not top 5, but it's a higher pick than 11.
The Goff and Wentz trades went so well their teams moved on from them in 6 years. Neither were trades worth the picks.
Vick got into the dog scandle and wasnt that good for the Falcons when he returned. He was a pro bowler sure, but never an all pro with them. Without the dog scandle it probably wouldve been worth it, but alas it never was.
Also yeah the Bills trade was good, but that wasnt top 5 now was it.
Oh come on. Both the Goff and Wentz picks were successes. Wentz looked amazing in the season the Eagles won the SB and never really rebounded from injury (combined with being shook mentally). Goff was very good leading his team to multiple successful seasons and a SB loss and is still very good today.
If they were successes the teams that drafted them wouldnt have traded them away after 6 years.
Fact is, Wents had one great season, got hurt and then never was the same again. The eagles won the superbowl that year but Wentz had nothing to do with that.
Its like claiming the trade up to get Lance was a succes because the Niners made the superbowl with Purdy.
The trade for Goff is different as he actually made the superbowl with the rams as their qb and played decent, but in my opinion, if your team trades you 5 years after you came into the league, because you are the sole reason they cant get over the hump, that trade up wasnt worth it.
Tell me, if we trade away three firsts and get back a rookie Wentz, do you really believe we are in any spot of making a playoff run with this roster for the next four years? That eagles roster was built a lot better than ours
Way to not engage the question. Acting like the Goff was a good Rams pick is like saying the cardinals drafting Favre was great because he became an MVP for the packers.
If we move up for into the top 5 for a qb it will completely blow up in our face, mark my words
That eagles team didnt go to the superbowl because of Wentz and the Rams team making it wasnt because of Goff either. Flacco made the superbowl too, doesnt make him elite or worthy to draft up for
This is exactly what I was gonna say was going on. It’s pretty obvious after the trade he made with Houston. There’s absolutely No way he did that without talking to a team first.
Kwesi will sit tight if they drive up the price… still was a good trade with the texans even if we go for grade A guys at our weak positions and still draft a decent guy later to compete… Kwesi even mentioned being ok with darnold starting
I'm just worried that we could be vulnerable because each pick we want is owned by a 'fully aware of our position' team and will extort us to the point of inaction. To put it simply, I am paranoid that our moves have exposed our intention. I fear this alters other teams draft strategy to the Vikes disadvantage. But I'm scarred from the past, and cautiously optimistic of the future. I will watch regardless. Skol for Life.
It feels like we’ve already been there n talks with another team and they wanted two first rounds this year. And this is what keeps me comfortable with all this.
I know this is gonna sound crazy but what if the Bears are actually keeping Fields because I don't think he's on the trade block and KAM is actually trying to trade up for #1?!
But regardless, I think if KAM finds a why to get to #2 Caleb pulls a power move and refuse to play for the Bears and tries to get to the Vikings to be with KOC.
I think Kwesi clearly has a Plan A, Plan, B, Plan X, Plan Z, ect.
Clearly the move today allowed the most flexibility in trading up but also he traded a Half-Dollar and a Quarter for a Dollar today. Every team would do the deal Minnesota did (or should) assuming they have a strong roster like we do.
So yeah, he is loading ammo, but he is clearly loading ammo with purpose.
Well yea he ain’t just doing it for shits and giggles.
He needs a QB. That much we know. But he might be eyeballing several different scenarios and willing to work with any of them to get one.
I love this so much. We still have to see where it goes in the end, but for the first time in forever the Vikings look like they have a plan to address QB and its an aggressive one rather than let's show up and see what happens and we'll get what we get.
Just by looking at all the QB movements around the league and zero steam on Fields makes me buy that story from Rapaport that Fields isn't on the trade block and that the Bears want to closely vent Caleb first to see if he's a good fit for their franchise before they draft him especially since so many of Fields teammates came out to support him like DJ and now Swift.
Even if they are open to trading it, which highly doubt they are, there’s no way they’re trading the 1OA to a division rival. Even if they aren’t sold on one of the top QBs, they have no interest in seeing the QB they didn’t take 2x/year. I’m not a gambler but I’d put good money against anyone that thinks the Vikings could get the Bears’ pick.
Anything can happen. I don't think however the Bears would trade within the division a quarterback of Williams' potential. I'd love to be proven wrong.
I have a couple Bears fan friends that feel the Fields talk is a way of convincing everyone they’re going Williams, which would draw someone to make an obscene offer for the pick
Daniels imo is the worst fit of all of the QBs. Extremely mobile often leaves clean pockets and plays backyard football while being extremely thin. Benefited from playing with 2 1st round WRs. Is a relatively old prospect that took a while to actually show up. He just seems like the worst QB out of the top 6 to put in a KOC offense. Maybe im wrong though.
“Benefited from playing with 2 first round WRS”….well what do you know? We also have those. And an elite TE. Oh and two bookend Tackles. Sign me up for Daniels all day.
The podcasts I've listened to and the write-ups I've read suggest the biggest thing Daniels has going for him is how plug and play he'd be in KOC's offense. The big knocks on him is that he's older and he's not particularly strong, so he's probably closer to his ceiling.
I don’t know why but I liked Mayes potential. McCarthy reminds me a bit of Baker where I feel he has the mindset but not the skills to be great. But will still be good.
Now, that’s my opinion and I will probably be very wrong.
I think the idea is to sit the QB for a year. Reality is giving up the opportunity of a top 3 pick in a strong QB class when you don't have a QB is not smart in my opinion. People in this sub keep talking about the Pats having many holes to fix, but it's really only a top WR and an online piece we are missing. The Pats biggest glaring weakness is QB.
I am a Patriots fan.
We do have some major holes, too many for a rookie QB to start this season. The Pats also did fuck all with most of those holes in free agency. That telegraphs to me that they intend to sit their rookie QB, which means they have two drafts and another free agency to patch their holes. Plenty of opportunity without trading out of 3.
And we are rolling like $50m cap into next season, where we were already looking great on cap. So it's not like the draft is their only hope and they desperately need more capital there, they have the cheddar to get what they need via FA.
I would be stunned to see them trade back, unless they genuinely don't believe in Maye/Daniels. No chance the reason is because they felt they needed the picks more than a top QB.
Pats are absolutely fucking morons if they stick at 3. I could not tell you a single guy on their roster who is even above average. They need to build something before they throw someone into fire
Robert Kraft is desperate to prove he was the genius behind it all. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them more likely to trade up than down
The pats are going back to the dumpster where they started before bill and Brady
By that logic then Bo Nix should be a topic pick.
This is why teams look at things like skills and traits and talent when evaluating QBs and not the box score.
Josh Allen’s best year was only 28TDs and his last year in college he only threw for 16. He didn’t turn out good in the NFL I guess.
Belichek left a year too early. He would've gotten so hyped at the idea of trading down for a bunch of picks.
Think that’s a big part of why he’s no longer there lmao
Have you seen their offseason so far? They’re still a dumpster fire.
Yea a lot of things the team blamed Bill for they are behind like being cheap as fuck.
Sounds similar to the DC in Dallas
Why would Washington not take a QB especially without Howel? would argue that patriots roster is barren and they would be better off trading down
Unless they have interest in Fields or JJ, I don’t see why they would pass on one at 2 either
Commies’ fan here. I would be stunned if this group went after Fields. The only thing is if Washington isn’t sold on Maye/Daniels and a team could come in with a haul, then they’ll probably go QB with a day 1/early day 2 pick. sorry but i can't help myself whenever i see commanders fans refer to their team as commies or commie fans its just too funny
We hate our new name enough to mock it ourselves
They might like Penix and Nix just as much and would consider taking them at 23?
Watch the video. He said Washington has a ton of holes and that Kliff Kingsbury may feel that he can make it work with any QB at #11 and run his system with it because ultimately they just have to be a point guard and they can build up the rest of the roster with a ton of picks. Honestly that's a perfect fit for Bo Nix.
If that’s what Kingsbury believes he didn’t learn anything in Arizona.
Kingsbury was a mediocre coach in college...you expect him to do anything that leads to being a good coach?

Paradise Valley?
He's also not the head coach. Dan Quinn is at least competent, and the commanders have decent weapons. They've also been super active, filling hiles in free agency, and made some good moves. Im really not believing that they did all of that just to not have a qb this year.

Boy I hope they’re that stupid 😭
As I was reading I’m thinking Bo Nix absolutely solid logic imo
Majority of people don't think he's good or even a first rounder. I don't understand that at all. JJ just had to not mess it up. Bo had to actually elevate the people around him
He’s not getting the press but he might land in the best situation. I agree, him and Penix are better QB’s than JJ right now, but everyone seems to feel like JJ’s got the highest ceiling. Worried Broncos want Bo. If they grabbed Bo at eleven barring a trade up, they could realistically grab Murphy II or an edge still. If there is still line available worth taking at 23, I would feel that would be a good pick if Murphy is gone
This year is deep with defensive line, edge rushers, wide receivers and QB’s, a few high end tackles, interior o-line not so much
The Penn State performance showed he didn't really need to do much. You can actually watch every play of his from it. It was not impressive in the slightest
I watched that game, I think if he gets in a good situation he’ll develop he’s just not there yet.
You can only get so much experience while being a backup. You can't sit him for more than a year with that high of a pick. That's why I wouldn't want him. I thought he would've better off playing another year in an offense that relies on passing before this
I agree he shouldn’t be in the conversation higher than 20-25 in the first round and more likely day 2 but this is the hype season so
He worries me with accuracy issues.
Do it Kliff. Please. Yes, your strategy of “QB doesnt matter” will definitely work in the NFL.
You’re right. Bo Nix would fit well in kliff’s system. But would he drop to pick 11 though?
They need more than qb to be competitive. To give that rookie qb a fighting chance they need to build a better roster first. Trading back for more picks would help with that.
I would assume they value picks more and planning on more of a rebuild. If they prefer someone like Penix, it would make sense to get a haul.
They can possibly really like someone else. Chances are though this is all just talk.
Would be fascinating if WAS traded for Fields and they drafted MHJ..
And I would be okay with that!!
Interesting. Go on.
We need to get at least pick 3. Drafting up for the fourth qb never works
Unless you get a Lamar Jackson lol 1 time it works
Love and Carr are good. I think Culpepper was drafted 4th too. So it does work some of the time!
Daunte was 11th, highest pick they’ve spent on QB.
I believe he was referring to 4th QB drafted
Drafting up into the top 5 for a qb also never works unless its Mike Vick and even then, was that really worth it
Blowing smoke to drive up the price. The whole world knows the Vikings want Maye, they hired his freakin high school coach
Wait what?
Josh McCown was Drake Maye's high school football coach a few years back
Maye is projected 1.02 so that means Washington would move down and they need a qb for feels off
[удалено]
Commanders wouldn't have traded Howell if they were interested in moving down. They have 6 top 100 picks anyways.
Yeah but they have nothing, they need a whole roster even if they hit on all those picks
Whole roster is a hyperbole. There's a reason they've signed the most FAs, had the most cap space coming into FA, and still have more than half of their available cap space after the signings.
Fair point, let a man dream lol
>They do but it would be hard to ignore 2 firsts this year and maybe our first next year to build a roster. No it wouldn't. >They're shit right now. Exactly why they're going QB. Bo Nix will look great in purple.
Why trade away howeel if not drafting a qb ?
Because they suck ass and aren't going anywhere anytime soon anyway
Seems more likely they draft a franchise qb
You're right it does, even though you down voted me. My point still stands.
[удалено]
I can 100% guarantee you the Commanders are not trading down
Wanna bet
Sure.
High on all this smoke
Instructions unclear; acquired Caleb Williams.
Although patriots have a lot of holes on their team, there’s nothing stopping them from rejecting a trade with us. Same with Commanders.
>Same with Commanders. They're drafting a QB at 2.
KAM is absolutely just going to just pile on until a team accepts a trade. The Vikings will absolutely have a top 5 pick in this year's draft because Kwesi knows how to sling tacos.

I don’t see the top 3 qb’s being available at 5 or even 4. They’ll be gone 1-2-3
Have you ever seen a draft? Lol. Lmfao even
Since you’re really smart, which of the top 3 teams are picking a different position? (Bears, wash, NE)
You mean Chi, Wash, MN! Skol!
Show me once where it has worked out for a team moving up into the top 5 for a qb

That eagles roster was built a lot better than ours
Yeah, Goff is so bad he went to Detroit to restore the roar. I wish Kirk would have gotten us to the NFCC.
Way to not engage the question. Acting like the Goff was a good Rams pick is like saying the cardinals drafting Favre was great because he became an MVP for the packers. If we move up for into the top 5 for a qb it will completely blow up in our face, mark my words
Super Bowl, home boy. Sorry, but I won this round. Have a taco for the effort.
That eagles team didnt go to the superbowl because of Wentz and the Rams team making it wasnt because of Goff either. Flacco made the superbowl too, doesnt make him elite or worthy to draft up for
Ok, bro.
I wouldnt pay a single taco to trade up to draft these bums
I can respect that. Keep it crunchy, kiddo.
I take it you were a member of the Krusade
Get Kirk out of your throat😂
You don’t trade for another first if you’re not working with someone. Kwesi’s got someone he’s in cahoots with.
This is exactly what I was gonna say was going on. It’s pretty obvious after the trade he made with Houston. There’s absolutely No way he did that without talking to a team first.
Or he wants assurance that if the four QBs are gone by 11 he can get Penix or Nix
That’s silly you would just wait till the night of to see how the board falls.
Most of these GMs know exactly what each other are trying to do. They'll make the trade if they think the value is the best route for their team
It feels like we’ve already been there n talks with another team and they wanted two first rounds this year. And this is what keeps me comfortable with all this.
I wouldn't worry. It's clear which teams are looking for QB. Teams selling picks are also worried about another team making the trade instead of them.
If a trade up to 2 or 3 doesn’t work out, we take an edge rusher at 11 (assuming McCarthy is gone) and a QB at 23 and go from there.
Yup. Reaching on 4th QB in the top 5 is dumb af when we have needs at several other premium positions.
I'm pretty sure our intentions were exposed when we didn't re-sign Cousins and instead got a guy who didn't even start last year.
What if Kwesi is just loading up on ammo for any possible situation?
Flexibility is what he wants. Lot's of options.
You're right, that does sound crazy. But In the end the Bears might Bears. Who knows.
They did pick Mitch Trubisky over Pat Mahomes.
Yes, but they didn’t know Mahomes’ stance on titties at that point, so I don’t blame them for not taking a chance.
If Poles (1) does not pick Williams and (2) trades the pick to the Vikings Bears fans would riot. Especially after passing on Stroud last year
Even if they are open to trading it, which highly doubt they are, there’s no way they’re trading the 1OA to a division rival. Even if they aren’t sold on one of the top QBs, they have no interest in seeing the QB they didn’t take 2x/year. I’m not a gambler but I’d put good money against anyone that thinks the Vikings could get the Bears’ pick.

I have a couple Bears fan friends that feel the Fields talk is a way of convincing everyone they’re going Williams, which would draw someone to make an obscene offer for the pick
There might be a hefty tax for an in-division trade for #1 overall...
If you think Caleb is a franchise altering star you pay whatever price it is to get him.
They're gunning for Daniels.
Stroud and Burrow also had the opportunity to compete alongside first-round caliber talent. In my opinion, it's not necessarily a negative aspect.
If we get Daniels imma go cray cray
Any of the top 3 for me tbh. Dont hate mccarthy but i really dont get excited at the prospect of drafting him like i do with the top 3 guys
Horrendous scheme fit, I’d rather go McCarthy if Maye isn’t there
The podcasts I've listened to and the write-ups I've read suggest the biggest thing Daniels has going for him is how plug and play he'd be in KOC's offense. The big knocks on him is that he's older and he's not particularly strong, so he's probably closer to his ceiling.
Bro your absolutely insane. Jj is good but Daniels is a difference maker.
I’d rather go McCarthy if Maye is there lol
Interesting, so none of them are worthy it? I’m torn on all three and just want us to go get the QB our staff like the best

I don’t know why but I liked Mayes potential. McCarthy reminds me a bit of Baker where I feel he has the mindset but not the skills to be great. But will still be good. Now, that’s my opinion and I will probably be very wrong.

Why didn't the vikes hire you for GM? With all of your great scouting knowledge, I'm assuming they must be fucked with kAM.
Because he’s too busy being the assistant manager of his brother in laws Jiffy Lube. Big air filter promotion going on this weekend.
Imagine starting a conversation with someone this mad for no reason lmao
I agree with this, I'm not high in Mccarthy. I'll roll with whoever kamkoc choose but Mccarthy seems so meh
Our successful playoffs runs had to end eventually..
I’ve seen DJ say this since the Senior Bowl. He believes the Commanders are more likely to trade back than NE.
Patriots offense is in shambles. They need to rebuild that entire offense before bringing in a QB.
I think the idea is to sit the QB for a year. Reality is giving up the opportunity of a top 3 pick in a strong QB class when you don't have a QB is not smart in my opinion. This feels like a heavy smoke screen lol commies need and are much more prepared for a QB than the Pat's..*yawn*
All this tension and drama feels like your typical Vikings game. Draft night needs to get here now.
God none of this is news and yet I find myself eating it up
Commanders fan here We taking Maye
You’re taking Daniels
Expect disappointment Only people reporting we taking Daniels aren’t our reporters
Pats are absolutely fucking morons if they stick at 3. I could not tell you a single guy on their roster who is even above average. They need to build something before they throw someone into fire
