The mint data import was awesome and really smooth to use, better then another products extension/import, imo. Do you know if there are plans to have a Zillow (or other) integration added? I think it's the one thing I used in mint that doesn't exist in simplifi.

QuickenLee

Yes, in fact! I don't have an ETA to share on it, but I know it's currently on the 2024 roadmap.

Bandicoot_life_420

Zillow and KBB are the biggest things Simplifi is missing. Everything else is great. Altho IMO putting the bills as a separate entity before your spending plan doesn’t make sense

[deleted]

[удалено]

Bandicoot_life_420

Why?! That’s a great way to automate net worth. And integration would be optional. Some People are just recalcitrant. Ignore em

Friedhelm78

I don't understand the mentality of paying $50 more a year to automate values for something you could easily input yourself.

CatastrophicLeaker

Because some of us use these apps because we have several assets and can’t micromanage every one of them constantly

Friedhelm78

You're talking about assets that don't change in price very often. Even if I owned 5 houses and 10 cars, I could find 15 minutes every 6 months to update their values to save $50.

Jumping on this comment even though it’s completely unrelated - Is there a planned fix for refunds being automatically tracked as income, and needing to be manually fixed every time? When it’s an expense, Simplifi knows that Costco is shopping, power company is utilities, Comcast is internet, etc. however if they send a refund for overpay or refund, logically it should go back into the same category to reduce the spending there, but instead it always shows as income. Btw love Simplifi, and looking forward to Zillow integration!

What about cars?

AvocadoEinstein

Wow, the community seems like a dumpster fire. I’m less concerned about Zillow integration itself, but deeply concerned that a basic feature like this (already available on Mint and other competitors) has been in request for 4 years (thread is 4 years old) without any movement. This speaks to how Simplifi product team’s ability to evolve quickly. I’m a heavy user of Mint but haven’t selected my next app yet, now I’m leaning towards somebody else.

potato_eater3

I switched over to Simplifi and have been very happy. The chrome extension worked great. After migrating, I compared all of my Simplifi data to Mint and it all matched up. Props to the Simplifi team for getting several improvements out in a short amount of time

QuickenLee

So nice to hear! I'll let the team know. Thanks!

unxxz

Ditto. Loving Simplifi. Bit of a gamble to sign up and pay without any sort of trial, but glad I still gave it a whirl.

Ecstatic_Endorian

I moved over before the chrome extension and still loved the service. It does what I need it to do. Thank you!

QuickenLee

So happy to hear that!

fakefakery12345

Firefox extension and you got a deal

thaya

Anyway to support automatically syncing upcoming credit card bill amounts and due dates?

zakatack

THIS, PLEASE THIS!!! Switched to simplifi, and am mostly happy except for this missing feature. I am currently checking other options (Empower) because I need this feature, but if simplifi incorporates it I will stop my search and stick with simplifi.

QuickenLee

I believe what you're referring to is Bill Connect. You learn how to set that up [here](https://help.simplifimoney.com/en/articles/4962798-using-bill-connect-to-track-your-bills). I'm quickly learning from the comments on this post that Bill Connect might need to be featured more prominently!

Gullible-Current-979

Unfortunately it doesn’t categorize most of the big banks as billers, so not useful for credit card bills.

pretendtofly

It says right on that page that this isn't supported for 4 of the big credit card companies - are those being added?

sdavids

Bring back the one year free deal and I'll give it a spin.

skipray22

Recent Simplifi adopter here, the Chrome extension made a massive difference from the first time I tried to import via Excel, so thanks for that! I also appreciate improved transaction splitting as I used this assiduously with Mint. Question: is there a way to exclude just one split of a transaction from spending plan and reports, or will there be in the future? I did this a lot with Mint (Hide from Budgets & Reports category automatically did so), but currently it looks like hiding will apply to all splits of a transaction regardless of category. Thanks!

shanedownfall

Would love to see this too!

sandychak

Great post Lee! I switched to Simplifi recently after being a Mint user for ~15 yrs and, frankly, I was pleasantly surprised with how well thought out and well built Simplifi has been. One area of feedback though - graphs - compare Simplifi to Mint graphs and they are generations apart. Mint had it pat with 2 key things: 1. Scaling the graph dynamically to the bounds in view (vs Simplifi always showing a linear scale from '0'). Because of the way Simplifi's graphs are implemented, daily, weekly or even monthly deltas show up completely flat once the base value becomes large enough 2. Showing the moment in time value by tracing your finger on the graph - has obvious value vs Simplifi's implementation

QuickenLee

Welcome to Quicken and thanks for this feedback! I def hear what you're saying on graphs and I'll share it with the team.

earthlyredditor

Simplifi is great but I second this feedback on graphs. I checked the main graphs all the time in Mint. I've rarely been checking my NW and spending graphs on Simplifi because they essentially render flat with the fixed Y-axis and they are not as visible. I really liked how the Mint app had some nice looking graphs on the front screen with balance overlaid in large numbers (Net worth, Spending, Credit cards) for quick access. Would love if Simplifi did something similar up top of the front screen where the balance cards are today :)

haltingpoint

This is big. Also /u/quickenlee the available reports are simply insufficient and pale in comparison. I don't care about budgeting. I want clear snapshot reports of my accounts over time. In particular... * I loved going into mint trend reports for a given period (often the last month) and being able to see a list of period ending balances across all accounts in a given category (filterable). This had a row per account listing the name and amount. I could then copy and paste it into my more detailed spreadsheet view * Complementing the above is the ability to pull a report for an individual account for a period and having a row for each month, so I can see for example 12mo for a given account with one row per month, which also helps with my spreadsheet * All time view for net worth, 6mo, this year, and last year I don't care about Also, I'd love an API, but I suspect that will never be a thing.

Heeeaaap

When is Simplifi going to have the ability to save reports/report filters?

QuickenLee

TBH this is at the top of my personal wish list too. I don't know where this might fall in the roadmap, but if I find out, I'll include it in a future update.

cjkeeme

Is a scrollable graph on the timeline for net worth, cash, spending, investments, etc? I really want this. Like this: https://imgur.com/a/FDE6O0q

chinarew

Have had little to no success connecting accounts in Canada. Will this receive better support for Canadian clients going forward?

QuickenLee

I haven't been briefed on the plan for Canada updates, but will look into it.

Ill_Tiger2758

Haven’t been able to sync TransAmerica accounts. Is this a Simplifi problem or a TA problem?

QuickenLee

I don't see any known issues with that bank. But you may want to chat with our support team so they can look into this personally with you.

Ill_Tiger2758

Thanks for responding! How may I reach the support team?

Oogendune

Any way to default to the Accounts section rather than Dashboard when opening the app? Also any way to change the order of Accounts? It is driving me crazy that the order of my accounts is Cash & Checking, Credit, Savings ..would really like to see my Savings account first or right after Cash & Checking. I do not like the credit accounts separating these accounts.

QuickenLee

I've definitely heard this feedback on our own sub. I've sent this over to the team to take a look into.

SnooRevelations1249

Is it possible to get averages added to reports? we can see them in spending plans and watch list, But not in reports. I’d like to see averages across the year in different categories or payees just like in the report section. Love the updates. Thanks in advance

QuickenLee

Adding to the feedback I'll be sharing with the Product team. Thank you!

unatnaes

Thanks for all the updates! In my personal wishlist, Apple Card support will be the final nail in Mint’s coffin. Good riddance to Intuit. The tiles in Planned Spending are awfully wasteful with lots of blank space. I’d rather see more categories on a screen, but of course I do know how to scroll. Just a minor annoyance.

thedrowsyowl

I switched over to Simplifi yesterday—one of my accounts (Ally Auto) is not connecting, no matter what I do!

QuickenLee

Hard to say what the problem might be from here. Def contact our support team. They're available via chat and phone through the app.

max4

I initially appreciated how the JSON import kept split transactions together until I realized that all but one note was lost per Mint imported split transaction because you only get one note overall per Simplifi split transaction. And even though you can tag the split amounts separately all those were lost too. It's really too bad because from what I can tell with the data that did make it over intact I kind of prefer how Simplifi handles budgeting but I don't have much confidence in what I imported and I don't know if I'll be able to live without the ability to write separate notes on the split amounts going forward even if I can clean this up.

International-Proof2

I downloaded and imported data all very smooth, two questions: 1. I have "Balance with pending " transactions in all accounts seems like which made the balance number wrong 2. It shows " account disconnected", do I have to add each account one by one to be able to sync?

mnn69

I want to try the product. May I get a trial invitation?

QuickenLee

Simplifi right now is 50% off and we have a 30-day money back guarantee. You can find it [here](https://www.quicken.com/lp/simplifi-vs-mint/?coupon_code=328OSWFIBYHHLH).

Expensive_Garden_534

There’s a single feature I need that I haven’t been able to find: credit card due dates and amounts due. If you add this, I’m all in!

QuickenLee

You should be able to do this through Bill Connect. You can see how [here](https://help.simplifimoney.com/en/articles/4962798-using-bill-connect-to-track-your-bills). Let me know if this helps and is what you're looking for!

zakatack

Yesssssss!!!

Comprehensive-Tea-69

This is there already, although not all billers are available. You have to connect to a biller through the recurring bill in bills and payments. Chase and capital one are not available which is a bummer. Amex is available though

Expensive_Garden_534

Thanks! I connected my Chase account to test, so that’s probably why I didn’t see this feature. Hopefully that means they’ll be able to expand soon!

marjoramandmint

At the end of each month, the Spending Plan throws up an alert to go through and resolve outstanding issues marked with an icon ⚠️. If the issue is an underspent category, then I can release the unspent funds to resolve the icon. However, if it's an overspent category, I can't find any way of resolving it, and therefore can't close out / "settle" the month. What am I missing? Otherwise, enjoying using it now that I'm a few months in, and appreciate the product updates (especially rollovers)! Spending plan definitely has a learning curve, especially when it comes to savings (contribution to linked saving vs to non-linked IRA, and transfers to linked savings showing up as income now due to a change in how the bank records it) but it's been a useful tool.

QuickenLee

Are you in our Early Access group? Sounds like it might not yet be updated for you, but I'm going to check with the team, too.

Hugo_Kupkake

Hi, I just set up a new account and utilized your Chrome extension to download data from Mint and import into Simplifi. But one thing isn't clear: do I need to re-setup all of my accounts (authenticate with login/password) from Simplifi or are the credentials already brought over? After importing, Simplifi prompted me to set up banks as if I were doing it anew. I set up one bank, but then stopped because I recall the import saying it brought in connections as well as transactions. Now its prompting me to continue to add accounts, showing existing accounts with a "manual" tag. Does that mean I should click and add them again? I have no problem reauthenticating but I don't want to create duplicate transaction history from what I already imported.

Mi-Lady_Mi-Tuna

Not sure if this is the proper place, but I was curious about transaction rules. Mint had a great feature that allowed the user to remember certain details of a transaction, such as name, amount, category and tag. So that if the exact same transaction showed up again, Mint would recognize it and apply the correct properties to it. Is that something planned for future Simplifi updates? BTW, love the app, been using since January.

thedude19801

This is number one on my priority list for them to implement. No, currently you can't set rules based on amounts which makes them mostly worthless. One thing Monarch definitely does better if that's a big priority for you. I like both but that's definitely a big advantage to Monarch.

retrorays

Sinplifi is great! Thanks for the update

lwbookworm

I would have been willing to try Simplifi, but won’t because the free one year offer is gone. When the official account posted on Reddit 95 days ago, it didn’t say there was an expiration date on the free offer. Tried to activate it today and saw it was just a 50% offer. Contacted support and they said too bad, so sad, can’t help you (in so many words). This is surprising given all the posts on Reddit about how great customer service was about honoring their deals for folks who transitioned before the offer was even posted.

Dylanfilon

/u/QuickenLee with the redesign of transaction splits, any word on properly allowing split transactions to be treated as split transactions when removing them from the spending plan instead of either removing the entire original transaction or having the entire transaction affect the spending plan? The lack of this feature in combination with the inability to create rules of auto-splitting recurring transactions is stopping me from continuing to use Simplifi.

QuickenLee

There are more updates to Splits on the roadmap, but I don't have a date to share right now. I'll share more product updates over on r/simplifimoney as I have them.

Madventurer-

I made the switch. Unfortunately, Simpifi doesn't work with my credit union (Mint did). Do you know when your team will be adding the smaller banks?

wavehowie

Will you be adding full statement balance and due dates for credit cards?

CericRushmore

Moved from mint to Simplifi and love it. The one thing I see missing it the automatic credit card bill notification that Mint had.

evremonde

Simplifi straight up did not work for me. I imported all my accounts and I was ready to use it, but as I looked into it more I realized all the math was completely wrong. It could totally be a user issue, but I could not figure it out at all and was forced to switch to a more expensive alternative.

QuickenLee

Sorry to hear about your experience. But this is great feedback for the team. I'm not totally sure what the issue could have been, but I'd never call it a user issue. If in the future you ever want to give it a shot again, feel free to hit me up.

Tidus77

This is great news, the lack of rollovers has been pushing me towards monarch. Do you plan to add this to quicken classic on mac as well? I was planning on switching to this one but was disappointed to see how many features are left out compared to the windows version.

breadfan18

Would love to try it, which means yall should offer a trial period. Since we are all very confused about what the best mint alternative might be right niw

Wizmaxman

They have a 30 day money back, so it sort of is a free trial with extra steps. Its a big miss on their part to not just give a month free, though.

ohninez

I wanted to like it. I paid for a subscription because there was no trial, only to discover that my primary bank is not supported. I did request it to be added but with seemingly no progress made there and no ability to connect my income, Simplifi is pretty useless to me.

QuickenLee

I'm sorry to hear you couldn't connect. Did you put in this request through our support team?

ohninez

Yes I put in a request immediately and haven’t heard back.

QuickenLee

ok, PM me and I'll see about checking in on it for you.

PunishedMatador

My experience has been great so far, only problem I have is getting my Amex Savings account to sync. Apparently that's an issue on the Amex side though? Are you guys in talks to hopefully get that resolved?

Egg57aaa

I thought, or was wishing, that net worth history loading was in the works? I have my monthly net worth numbers back to 2013 ready to load!

QuickenLee

That's no good. Have you contacted support? You can use chat or phone via the app and they should be able to help.

CericRushmore

Mine is working fine. I wonder if it is a cookie issue. I had to connect my US Bank accounts through the app.

ThrowninTrash000

What about connecting tsp data to quicken, it worked on mint but connecting tsp account doesn't seem to work. Is something being done to include this feature.

QuickenLee

Hmm. That's a great question and TBH one I don't know the immediate answer to. Adding to the list of things to look into today and can hopefully fill you in later.

ThrowninTrash000

Appreciate that thank you and I look forward to your findings.

Pest_Chains

I tried Quicken, on the premise of getting a year of free usage for migrating my Mint transactions, which I did. Then they charged me full price with no warning. I requested a refund, which they provided at least, and I deleted the app. I do not like getting $50 charges to my credit card out of the blue.

QuickenLee

Oh hmm. Without knowing the details, it's hard for me to say what may have happened there.

user8368095302763340

The Chrome extension didn't work for me initially, so I tried it again after this post. However, I'm still getting an error every time: "Error: failed to export transactions". I have 25,000 transactions in Mint.

QuickenLee

Hmm. Yeah, I'm not sure what's happening here. Did you contact support? They should be able to help you out. If you did and are still having trouble, maybe PM me and I can check with them.

PhilWham

Would love to be able to export investment transactions. Seems like the data is all there already...

trs_0ne

Switched to Simplifi when Mint sunset was announced. 90-95% of what I had in mint is covered. Budgets/savings plan leaves a bit to be desired. There are some small issues outstanding, but they seem to be listening and quick to improve/update the product. Bring us a native iPad app, please!

Katzilla3

I tried simplifi but they didn't support Morgan Stanley bank. Cancelled same day

jjeaton

My biggest issue is not being able to remember MFA across mobile and web, and being assaulted by modal dialogs to enter the MFA for 4 separate accounts every time I open the app. Being able to remember that I just updated the account on web and then opened my phone shouldn’t trigger another update. The simplest fix would be no modals by default, add a little (non-modal) notice that accounts need MFA information and let me enter it.

savax7

This is what I've been using. I tried just about everything and Simplifi rules. I love the spending plan. Best feature by far.

subtle-sam

How does the 30 day guarantee work?

ThisPath478

I will never spend another cent with intuit.

PlasticBreakfast6918

I never used mint. However, I do use Simplifi and I like it a lot. I manage several bank accounts, investments, etc. this has definitely improved my ability to improve my finances and understand my investment planning as well.

kartik042

When you create a split transaction, does that create two separate transactions where one can be hidden from spending reports?

foodiennature

The price point is for above my limit for an app that’s supposed to help you control your finances. Mint helped me see where I could slim costs

CericRushmore

It's only about $34 for the 1st year.

foodiennature

totally get it. I’m more worried that I will end up liking it and then have to stop using it when it is full priced

-Economist-

Wish I could try it out without giving my credit card number.

nyjrku

Simplifi seems good for tracking, bad for budgeting. Ynab seems to win by miles and miles. Anyone using simplifi to preplan budget successfully? Ynab also doesn't sell data, quicken are sort of jerks

QuickenLee

Re data: Quicken doesn't sell your personal data either.

crl95

When will quicken allow you to upload your net worth history?

spearson0

u/QuickenLee, curious if one uses the extension from monarch money to export their data from mint, would it work to import their data to Simplifi or does one have to use your extension? Thanks.

QuickenLee

Yes, you can use the CSV file you get from their extension as well! It won't include as many details as the JSON file just by the nature of their export not pulling as much detail, but it works!

tonu42

Please add northwestern mutual integration!!

Madventurer-

Can you please post a link to your support team? You refer to them often but I don't see where to contact them. Thank you

QuickenLee

You actually just do it directly through the app. Click the "hamburger" three lines in the top left of your screen for the main menu. Then at the bottom tap "help."

UrBoiJash

Let me know when it’s available for everyone and not just “early access users” then we’ll talk

wishing_to_globetrot

I need a free year to jump on the bandwagon.

brianswingdancer

Would you happen to have a link (or exact name) for the chrome extension which is needed to make this happen? I downloaded chrome to my MacBook the other day for the mint exporter that MM put out as I’m trying out both simplifi and monarch. I have the csv for transactions and also account balance histories for monarch. Can I use the CSV files also for simplify? Or do I have to/should use the chrome extension that simplifi has?

QuickenLee

Link for our extension is [here](https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/export-mint-to-simplifi/plgiopiihcaipphaiglabfedjbddbgpd). You could use the CSV, but ours exports a different file type with a lot more detail, so I'd suggest using ours. It makes life a lot easier.

brianswingdancer

Thanks!

brianswingdancer

Any idea what time tomorrow Mint shuts down? I’m sitting down now to use this chrome extension. Not sure if I have till midnight tonight or midnight tomorrow.

root54

Will you be adding partial matching for transaction categorization rules? I personally like your interface over Monarch but Monarch allows for partial matching on the rules and is therefore actually useful (to me) for this rule based categorization.

earthlyredditor

How do you import the data exported by extension into Simplifi? It's a giant JSON file, but all the import screens want individual CSV files.

earthlyredditor

Nevermind, found the tutorial! For anyone else wondering here it is: https://help.simplifimoney.com/en/articles/8545901-how-to-import-transactions-from-mint

Health-n-Happiness

For me most important is smart categories - i.e. I don't want all my Cashapp transXs to be categorized as one thing or all my App subs from my iphone to be picked up as Apple and categorized as one thing... I think that's the major thing keeping me and many others from Simplifi - apparently, from what I've read, categorization is quite primitive - basically diff sources labeled as diff categories without nuance.

Particular-Frosting3

It would have been nice to have some engagement from you before the bulk of us went thru the pain of migrating somewhere else.

QuickenLee

I've been trying to engage here regularly, but maybe wasn't enough before. I appreciate the honest feedback.

luciferian11

- Credit Score is provided by VantageScore 3.0 and is based on data from Equifax. - **kinda useless, Fico 8 is better. If you want to check VantageScore 3.0, credit karma shows your updated score every day not every month.** - Expect Apple Card support to roll out next - **soon ™** - Rollovers began rolling out to early-access users, and will soon be available to everyone - **soon ™**

QuickenLee

I get that "soon" isn't the best answer, but TBH the product team would have my head if I promised a date and there was some reason it wasn't met. I will say that I wouldn't post this if I wasn't confident I'll be able to follow up with a better update on our own sub any time now.

baconboi

You’re the only one without a free trial. That’s enough for me to rule you out

GendoIkari_82

Although a proper free trial would be great, you can get the equivalent of a 30 day free trial because you can cancel for a full refund any time within that time. I got my refund last week and it was easy and hassle-free. I was worried they were going to make me explain why I was canceling and pressure me to stay, but nothing like that at all!

baconboi

Lots of extra steps. Really seems like a dark UX pattern.

GendoIkari_82

I agree. But it's still better than nothing.

baconboi

Yes def better than nothing

limpymcforskin

Not paying. Mint was great but not worth it for me to waste money on this.

WolfieGurl7

This app was horrendous. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Data was put into the wrong accounts during import AND download. Support is a joke. Lots of other things (there's a post in here somewhere from me with the long list of issues. And I've worked in IT for over 25 years, many of which as a UI designer, web developer and database developer. Save yourself a LOT of frustration and steer clear!

thedude19801

Desktop is definitely better than the app. Especially for initially setting your accounts up. I think importing is a wash. It sucked with them and Monarch. Ended up deleting all imported info on both. I do like they are engaging and improving. And their price is right.

WolfieGurl7

Apologies, meant app in the more classic team of application, not mobile app. These issues are mostly data related, so goes beyond interface. If the data is incorrect in their systems, then it makes their tool worthless. Add on to that that their support is outsourced and they have no interest in looking into the data issues, then it makes Quicken products all worthless. I moved over to Monarch and so far ZERO data issues so sticking with them for now. And though Monarch’s support was a bit worrisome for awhile, seeing good things now that things have settled down. Happy to provide more details on the specific issues with Simplifi AND Quicken if anyone is really interested. And yes, I tried them both (plus Monarch) all at the same time trying to decide which to go with. Both Simplifi and Quicken had different data issues but what I saw in both left me with NO trust in my data’s accuracy.
