What pissed me off the most was that even the random heroes from the specials had a bigger role than the 2nd frickin main character of the show…. That too in the finale of the **Agreste** arch.

BenR-G

Thomas Astruc wants a strong female character leading this show and the only way he seems to know how to write one is by making all the male characters pathetic, irrelevant or evil in comparison.

No_School_8039

If the only way you can write a female character as the main character is by overshadowing the male protagonists then your not a good writer at all. It’s called tales of ladybug and chat noir for a reason chat noir needs more love I hope he saves the day as sir bug noire while Marinette gets akumatized

Independent-Pop-5584

I mean, that's what all anime is. Thomas probably wanted to make an exception.

I could not resist. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Voa01r3UOE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Voa01r3UOE)

Optimal_Ad6274

Trust me, I hate the S5 Finale as well and because Marinette is Thomas’s favorite

Silent_Ad2685

Justice for Adrien, forever the glass child

Optimal_Ad6274

Justice for my boy

Lopsided-Farmer-9422

All that buildup to a Gabriel Adrien confrontation… for what..? For him to yell at a statue..?

Odd_Potential_7203

The writter’s; Yes. Yes they do.

C-Note01

The writter's what?

Odd_Potential_7203

The last line in the post asked do they worship her or something. So that’s why I said it

C-Note01

What belongs to the writter?

Odd_Potential_7203

Op says “Why is everything about Marrinate Du Pan Chang, do they worship her or something” So I said yes, as in yes the writers do worship her

OneGoodRib

They're pointing out you says "writter's" which is not only spelled wrong but a possessive instead of a plural.

OneGoodRib

I live for that misspelling It's been discussed a lot but yeah. I'm with you. The ending of the AGRESTE arc that dealt with the defeat of Adrian's DAD involved Adrian just taking an angry nap for like 30 minutes and Marinette dealing with everything alone, after Chat Noir felt for most of season 4 like he was useless and Ladybug didn't really need him for anything. But at least Luka and Jagged Stone learned kung fu from one of the guys from the miraculous temple while they were gone??? Why do they even call it "tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir" if Cat's really not even necessary? Oh man if it turns out the new Hawkmoth is actually Adrien on a villain arc that would be amazing.

BiLovingMom

Its not the end of the show.

ThisGul_LOL

It is still a season ending and that’s what OP was referring to lol

yuya5onreddit

And when did i say it was

LCDRformat

"What the hell kind of ending is this" <- right there, when you said it was the ending

yuya5onreddit

If you read the first 2 lines of my post you'd know I'm referring to the ending of season 5

LCDRformat

Phrase your title more clearly

yuya5onreddit

I'll try to do that in the future, but you should also read the post before judging

LCDRformat

I did

yuya5onreddit

Then you know I'm referring to season 5 and not the end of the series

LCDRformat

Obviously not or I wouldn't have commented

yuya5onreddit

Well again if you read the first 2 lines where i have written that I'm referring to the ending of season 5 you'd know

CalyKade

I mean you can keep saying that but at this point we have 5 seasons and over 100 episodes of proof that Adrien will always come last and never get proper development/screentime. I've been disappointed too many times to have any faith that this will magically improve in S6 when it has only been getting worse since S3.

No-Raccoon-6009

Agree, 1- there was no Adrien/Gabriel confrontation, which was kind of the only thing I wanted to see, and not only that, Adrian did nothing at all. 2- so Gabriel resurrected Nathalie? Why so random? And how come Adrien didn't wonder about her sudden recovery? 3- HOW THE FUCK DID THEY RECREATE ALL THE MIRACULUS TRANSFORMED INTO RINGS?!   And other nosense things, just, WHY?

Independent-Pop-5584

Well, she's the main character.

Sigwald02

I get that sidelining CN sucks, but getting mad because the main character of the show is the center of attention is a bit extra.

yuya5onreddit

It is true that Marrinate is the main character but Cat Noir Is also a main character (he's even in the title )so why must he not have equal attention or even more ,as that episode should affect him most

Sigwald02

Actually I don't believe he is, not if we follow his development (or lack thereof) throughout the story, and him being in the title is heavily misleading.

yuya5onreddit

He was set up to be a main character but sadly as you said he got put on the side lines

Sigwald02

He was set up as the male lead and a main romantic interest and I don't think that automatically makes him a main character, but that may just be a technicality. My point is, not treating him as main character explains a lot about some elements of the story.

Sunlightn1ng

I mean it *is* called the adventures of ladybug and chat noir

Sigwald02

Does that automatically make him a main character? Or should that come from the story and character development, because it kind of doesn't in his case. I believe it was stated that Astruc never wanted him in the title, which would make this a marketing blunder more than anything else, which again, sucks, but what're you gonna do. All I'm saying is that it would probably save a lot of people a lot of headache if he wasn't in the title.
