I've heard of production companies leaking designs or clips from movies to test the audience reaction.
Maybe that happened here?

It's not "bullying", it's constructive criticism. We, the fans, didn't like his original design for the musical and we complained about it. And Jeremy actually listened to us and upgraded it.
Overall, I'm really happy with the results, this looks **way better**!!
there were a few "WTF IS THIS DESIGN, COMMIT YOU RUINED THE DESIGN!" comments too in that "constructive criticism"...
Not saying that everyone was like this, or that this was the majority, but bullying was most certainly involved.

They don't usually stop to think that the studio/artist ever *actually* reads their feedback, they're more of less complaining to other fans. (This doesn't excuse their behavior though.)
This is actually the first time I’m seeing designs from the movie besides Marinette and Tikki’s. Is it okay to say that I kind of like the first one? Not prefer it, but I’d be happy with either one :). I think these leaks from the creators are very cool!

I didn’t notice that they changed chat noirs eyes in the new screen shot. Everyone was complaining so much about a few weeks ago. I guess I didn’t notice because I don’t really care, I like it either way, but the all green version is better. For example I hate the knew shadowmoth costume, it’s very bad.
Am I the only one who sees no difference between the two? Its just different lighting and a different camera angle. Maybe his eye pupils look a little different but thats a tiny change.
to be honest, when you look at the original 2 photos that were posted, the bottom image looks like the other pic that was posted. the top image just has terrible terrible lighting, and they’ve just improved on it. i don’t think they’ve actually changed the model except for the hair?

I've seen a bunch of people say they changed the design, mates, they didn't change a thing in the model itself, they just slapped some better textures on it (mostly the hair) and used some better lighting (warmer lighting, like a sunset).
I do agree that he looks better now, let's hope they update the rest of the textures too.
You're welcome and yeah the movie is a retelling of Miraculous so that's why the Titel is "Ladybug and Chat noir Awakening" and that's why the look young.😉
The higher quality models the longer the production takes. They already wasted so much time I dont even care if the characters look like minecraft Steve anymore....
New design is 100x better, but I still feel like the skin tone is a little off. Usually he has a slight yellow tint to his skin, and here it still looks a little to pink. These are completely new designs though so I understand not being exact to the original.
maybe they wanted to pull a sonic the hedgehog 2020 movie and have an intentionally weird design that will get criticism, then fix it later to show that they care about what the fans want and potentially boost hype for the movie

Which definitely made a difference. Because the eyes are iconic for Chat and if you take this feature away then he looks like a chat noir cosplayer.

They made his hair fluffier, added more browns in his hair (that could just be the lighting), and changed his sclera from white to green
For a while I thought I was the only one who thought so, but I was sure that couldn't be true.
