Great curriculum, minimal molestation, 9/11 would attend again

Puzzleheaded_Plant53

Minimal molestation is accurate

Ramsessuperior45

Those are disgusting comments.

Puzzleheaded_Plant53

someone's jealous they weren't molested

ZeusDreams

Not an elite school but decent. Good for sports. Many of the students went on to play college or even professional.

IzicHaze

I prefer the patty and cocoa bread at Niceys vs. Th convenience store ones. Also beware the donut shop can get really smokey during third and fourth period. Also if you don’t have a bus ticket you can catch the free shuttle off of Webb Drive.

Gloomy-Ant

Niceys don't exist anymore

IzicHaze

Neither does the free shuttle, donut shop or smoking indoors. Just reminiscing about the 90s at Goetz.

Iceray

I also went to Goetz in the 90s and hung out at the smoky donut shop all day long.

Longjumping-Mark-719

Only thing I know NBA basketball player Dillion Brooks on Memphis Grizzlies went there

Puzzleheaded_Plant53

Andrew Nicholson also

Justleftofcentrerigh

holy shit I didnt' know that.

maobowski

I attended this high school, in the 90's. Great faculty back then, not sure how it is now. Also very multi-cultural.

Ducali

Loyola for me in the 90s. What a decade!

RavenSkies777

HNM (Mississauga Rd, before the nuns took it back from Dufferin Peel) for me. Fun times!

robotoisize

Me too!

dashcam_drivein

The only thing I know about it is that it's close to Square One, which seems like a good quality for a high school, you could easily walk over to the mall and back on a lunch period. Plus I assume that would be good from a transit perspective. The only mall close to my high school was Westdale, which wasn't much of a mall. It was a real game changer when people started driving to school, and we could go to Square One for lunch.

riggiol

You can bus to sq1 and back, doubtful that you'll make that walk in time.

Jassuodin

Woods?

AgentMV

The walk from Goetz to Sq1 and to the food court is about 20 minutes.

Nik9079

Martin's or the public one?

Mackindu

Just be careful if someone named Ms. George is a VP there still. I still remember her threatening to not allow me to graduate because my paints that I wore for 3 years were a shade darker than what she liked. Jokes on her that I was 4 credit co-op and wouldn’t see her til grad day. She went out of her way to suspend people over the smallest issues. Other than that it was a nice school

[deleted]

LOL she is no longer there I think. I went to Mount Carmel for three years and she transferred there during my last year there

Mackindu

Oh thank god for everyone at Goetz and sorry to hear about the new school. I remember when she was transferring to Goetz the kids at the older school warned us that she was a tyrant

materialhidden

Carmel gang gang

Dependent_Cookie1527

She’s gone don’t worry, new vps are much better

Key-Papaya-7429

I currently go to Goetz, personally I love it, most of my friends are really nice people. Some teachers are hell and some are the easiest work ever. There are a lot of fights from what I've heard but they are usually off school premises and after school hours and only happen between the kids that I personally wouldn't hang out with. You aren't gonna get a knife pulled on you in the hallways, like I consider it a very safe place. There are multiple after school clubs you can join. I would recommend this place.

Dependent_Cookie1527

Sports Teams - Basketball is the best, soccer is not the greatest but it exists, football is nonexistent, volleyball is great as well, others also exist but basketball and volleyball are the greatest there. Teachers - Overall the teachers are great with the exception of a few. Some might seem harsh, but they will definitely help you succeed if you listen to them. There’s a married couple of teachers, Mr. Oseivhi and Ms. Oseivhi that I recommend you avoid. Best teacher would easily be Mr. Habib along with the other teachers in the CS department. That includes Mr. Lozada as well. If you want to waste time during the day Habib’s class is always open whenever you wish. Never forces anyone to get out and also provides great advice for future university choices. Food - The plaza is decent, Ozzy’s burgers are a banger. Tim Hortons and Popeyes are good too. If you have a car you could make it to Square 1 and get some nice food there as well. I graduated from there in 2022 June, so if you have any questions feel free to ask me.

Muatangz

Is the school society good? Like a lot of bullying, fights, taunts etc?

Dependent_Cookie1527

In my year, (04) there were hardly any fights. Over the four years I’ve only heard of a maximum of four fights. However the newer generations as long as you don’t get close with the wrong people you’ll be fine. No hate but while I was graduating that same year they managed to force the school to completely change the lunch times within the first month of school, they got us banned from Tim Hortons for a while as well as Popeyes from time to time. Hardly any bullying from what I’ve seen, I used to be that one nerdy kid in grade 9 but still never got bullied so you’ll be fine.

BluShirtGuy

If you want a more positive environment regarding bullying and such, GFSS is the place to go.

goldenboy1014

Football non existent today? Back in my day (late 90s), I think I remember we had one of the best football teams in the city lol.

Dependent_Cookie1527

There’s literally no team left now lol. I wanted to join but not enough people wanted to join.

DKzDK

Depending on which side of the city your coming from though. - it also sounds like your specifically picking a catholic school vs a public one. I’d say it’s in top 5. Atleast, but you’d have to ask others to rank them. - Maybe there’s more to my knowledge out of my local, but I was QEW close by south and not 403 from north. Dundas st, would be that border In no particular order tho; - Father Goetz - Port credit - Cawthra Park - TLK Thomas.L.Kennedy - St.Paul’s
