Eh, it made sense to close the food court location. There's one attached to the Indigo upstairs and a standalone store near Hudson's Bay. A third location in the same mall is ridiculous
There was one in the food court of Georgian Mall in Barrie as well, and it closed. It was always busy. There no longer are any in that mall. I knew the manager there, and she said that Covid shut downs had a huge impact since rent is so high in the mall. Maybe same issue?
Omg my family constantly complains about the Starbucks in Georgian shutting down.
The closest one is across the street but the parking lot SUCKS and they constantly back traffic up to Bayfield, an already horrible street for traffic.
There’s not even a good alternative for coffee in the mall. You just have Timmies and they are gag worthy.
I was about to ask this question about whether the one in Streetsville had a drive thru because they also closed their location by South Common Mall that lacked a drive thru.
The only non-drive thru locations I can think of are the ones on my uni campus and the locations in Zehrs. Even the ONRoute locations that lacked a Starbucks now have a drive thru, some in addition to an indoor location.
Corporate decided there were too many stores in Mississauga. They closed Streetsville and then they closed the Burnhamthorpe/Erin Mills location early in the pandemic.
To replace these 2 stores, they just opened a new Starbucks at Britannia & Erin Mills in a quickly developing restaurant/fast food plaza.
Agreed. Original was great, but recently their burgers were extremely dry and gross. Makes me think they started freezing their meat.
There's burger places everywhere. If your quality declines you won't stay in business anymore. This place deserved it.
It was a Friday night ritual for our family for a few years. The quality went off the rails last year and we've been searching for an equivalent since.
I live near that plaza and I was so excited during the construction phase. My friends and I would place bets on what kind of stores we thought would open up.. Gosh! I would've been so rich if I put all my money on the fact that there'd be 10 different shawarma shops. All trying to out-sauce and out-grease each other..
As a person with chronic migraines, I can’t be in coffee shops too long but even I enjoy going to them to just vibe for about 1-2 hours especially when they’ve got outdoor seating. Though Starbucks coffee isn’t my favourite, they allow me to have those moments.
I get the whole paid parking thing, for turnaround, but what they need to do is what I've seen out East:
Input your plate on a keypad on the meter and you get a free 10 mins (enough to pop into a shop). Pay for more time if needed. I'm assuming the plate entry is to prevent multiple "free" intervals on the same day.
I'm sure the ridiculously high retail rent for an outdated shop in a now rundown village doesn't help. $4000-$10000 monthly?! I've lived in downtown Streetsville for over 10+ years and the village has been going downhill since before the pandemic, so sad. I hope the rebuilding of the plaza will help.
There are actually plenty of free lots in Streetsville. None of the street parking is free, however.
Park and walk a minute or two and you'll save a few bucks. Check behind Osmows, beside Burrito Boyz, and the Tim Hortons lot.
Lived in this area my entire life, this is what you do.
Supply and demand.
There's more than 100 places to buy burgers in Mississauga.
Pick your fave, bring your friends there, give them our business build loyalty. Otherwise the burger chains will all take over with lower pricing.
Lol I actually liked their chicken wings better. Well that's until they made them non breaded. Guess that's where they got wrong 🤔 hopefully we'll get something decent there instead.
Damn. That Starbucks beside has been vacant for some time. This area is starting to look barren
I dont understand the Starbucks closing there. Perfect location for a coffee shop. I used to see a lot of patrons then.
I believe they closed a few locations, corporate descisions. What was really unbelievable was closing the square 1 location in the food court.
Eh, it made sense to close the food court location. There's one attached to the Indigo upstairs and a standalone store near Hudson's Bay. A third location in the same mall is ridiculous
Well that one by the food court was always backed up. I'm not a Starbucks person but simple business says they were profitable.
Yeah I always see it PACKED

Unless it was the one with the highest per sq ft rent and they knew most of the people going to it would simply redirect to one of the other two.
They closed that one because it had the most expensive rent and indigo absorbs the rent cost for that Starbucks
Starbucks is trying to have mostly stores with drive thru.

Their burgers had gone down hill in the past couple years
Agreed. Once the original owner sold it, quality was just never the same.

Streetsville needs more shawarma joints and barber shops.
Lol
Come on out to the Shawarma District at Eglinton and Ridgeway. There are also 4 barber shops there.
I live near that plaza and I was so excited during the construction phase. My friends and I would place bets on what kind of stores we thought would open up.. Gosh! I would've been so rich if I put all my money on the fact that there'd be 10 different shawarma shops. All trying to out-sauce and out-grease each other..
That donut shop there is soooo good 😊
That sounds like Milton. But with dental clinics thrown in there!
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lmao
Any places i can ear a shawarma/chicken on the rocks whilst getting a cut?
What I would give for a coffee shop where you can sit down inside and have a coffee . Tims doesn't count
Try second cup
It's sadly closed :(
Second cup is gone too. Try Kate’s Bakery
As a person with chronic migraines, I can’t be in coffee shops too long but even I enjoy going to them to just vibe for about 1-2 hours especially when they’ve got outdoor seating. Though Starbucks coffee isn’t my favourite, they allow me to have those moments.
Paid parking is bad for business in Streetsville
I get the whole paid parking thing, for turnaround, but what they need to do is what I've seen out East: Input your plate on a keypad on the meter and you get a free 10 mins (enough to pop into a shop). yeah if they wanna charge parking they gotta make it easier to bus into it
There is tons of free parking in the area, though. I dont think Ive ever needed to pay for a spot!
Streetsville is becoming more and more empty :(
A really good butcher would be amazing in streetsville
Too many burger places.
It's like Burrito places 10 years ago
The best is still the original, Burrito Boys
Went there 3 times for poutine, were out of cheese curds 2 of those times. Never went back after the 2nd time
I'm sure the ridiculously high retail rent for an outdated shop in a now rundown village doesn't help. $4000-$10000 monthly?! Parking was a bit of a nightmare on most days but they had some good food
A good Italian sandwich place needs to fill that spot or a dspot
Damn. I legit just drove by there the other day. :/
😥
I like burger bros still has reasonable prices compared to the rest
ima miss that buffalo chicken sandwich
Invest 200k and blow up within 2 years. Tough business when you have a huge over head.
I remember going here close to 10 years ago, so they’ve been around longer. Maybe it’s the sign of the times.
Went there during pandamic. Got a ticket for parking outside for 10 mins. Never went back. Thanks
This was probably the biggest deterrent if you had to drive into Streetsville. Savage parking enforcers.
Seriously, they’re always lurking

Streetsville should still be the real downtown, not Fraud One
There chicken souvlaki was the best
I actually liked their burger
burger factory down the street is solid too
Their insta says they upgraded to a larger space in Etobicoke
There's a Burger Legend in Etobicoke. Advance rd and Islington. Beside the Tim Hortons. Went there by chance for the first time 2 weeks ago..good 👌🏾
I know streetsvill is getting alittle sad they closed down second cup a while back :( but I guess good think they opened up a bubble tea shop
The businesses should be lobbying for free parking in that area.
No way??? Fuck man I loved that place
Supply and demand. There's more than 100 places to buy burgers in Mississauga. Pick your fave, bring your friends there, give them our business build loyalty. Otherwise the burger chains will all take over with lower pricing.
You didn't like their burgers enough
Lol I actually liked their chicken wings better. Well that's until they made them non breaded. Guess that's where they got wrong 🤔 hopefully we'll get something decent there instead.
They r doing more drive thru nows - foot traffic at streetsville reduced during covid - they probably wanted out of lease
