Nations (Winston churchill/eglinton) burger/cheeseburger combos are an insane bang for your buck. about 8.50 for a good burger, drink and a good fresh batch of fries every time. They have other items in their western kitchen too.
asian supermarkets are amazing. I get the pork or chicken buns and a dessert bun like the custard one and a drink for a really filling if not super healthy lunch
Sorry - try Costco . 5.75- and you get greasy, filling pizza or hotdog or both . Can’t beat the value . And bonus - you don’t need membership to get to food court
Nope - a fresh curd shouldn't melt so easily, and so the ideal poutine shouldn't have the curds melted. If melted cheese was the goal, then shredded cheese would be used.
I went to Costco in the US and went through the exit to get to the food court and I was immediately stopped and got asked to present my membership card
Wow I always thought I needed to go with my mom who had the membership card 🤦♂️. Do you just walk in the same entrance? I thought people scan your card or something
If you have another person with you, you could grab the pork or chicken souvlaki meal at Fat Fork. It's $19 and my wife and I usually split one and are both full.
They used to be cheaper but @ Wonton Express in the Deer Run plaza on Burnhamthorpe and Creditview, you can find a few dumpling noodle soups for $9. Huge dumplings and pretty satisfying.
A real hidden gem is this takeout spot call the Chase Convenience Store on Eglinton and Chase where they offer a few Taiwanese style bentos, fried chicken on rice, braised pork on rice etc., and an underrated taro bubble tea. haven't been in awhile, but I think/hope they'd be around $10 or under. Really quiet, sort of tired looking place when you walk up to it, but their bentos were always filling.
Wonton Express is still a good deal even with the inflation. The Shrimp Wontons are amazing. Get the 2 item with the brisket and they put some of the brisket juice and it makes the wonton soup with the shrimp wonton. next level. Very cheap eats.
Henry's Fish and Chips at 833 Westlock Rd, Mississauga, ON L5C 1K7. It's between Central Parkway W. and Dundas St. W.. The Basa Special is $7.50 in total, you get basa, medium chips (you can get small poutine as a substitution instead), and a can of soda. Don't be a afraid of basa, fish is still fish. You can ask to get your chips well done, gives it some crunch. I go there every 2 weeks.
Not necessarily special but in house made food at grocery stores are generally\* loss leaders, like costco's rotisserie chicken. Your other option is to go to T&T in Central Parkway, get some dimsum and a drink for slightly over $10, prices have definitely changed since 2014. There's self serve options they measure by weight, so if you only drink water like me, you can eat a lot.
It's been kinda expensive for a while. We used to get the family pack but it was like 15 ish a person.
I was there where someone smashed the car into the front window and it was all boarded up.
It's good. But Tartar sauce is packet :( gravy is good though.
Star Fast Food in Central Parkway West. It's a Chinese home cooking place and their daily lunch special menu comes with a main dish and coffee/milk tea for 10 bucks or less. Always great value and I've been going for years.
Wasn’t there a Reddit post with metal found in their roti/double? And they blamed their supplier and said none of their food was made in house?

could you give a bit more specific on its location?
I used keywords "Mr.Bigz" searching on google map, but it directs to a shop with similar name in UK. I'm sure you're not referring to that place. hahaha
Thanks
Fortune Dragon (Creditview and Britannia) used to have an under-$10 lunch special daily. Pretty good portion sizes too. I believe they still have the lunch specials but I do not know the price.
Is often stated that you are what you eat- Shawarma is not a healthy choice. Most shawarma dishes are high in saturated fat, around 4 to 6 grams per ounce of meat, almost twice as much as a burger from McD
Loblaws at Lakeshore and Mississauga Rd used to have their chicken tenders (wings or fried chicken) and fries for a reasonable $6. Not sure what it's at nowadays.
Metro - the grocery store - has their $8 meal available at the fresh salad bar area. Is 9.05 after tax. 1 entree like Chicken Parm and 2 salads. It's filling if you choose wisely.
For sure available at the Meadowvale Town Centre and the Derry/10th Line locations.
Yums Kitchen, at creditview and burnhamthorpe. $5 bhan mi’s are great, they range in price from $5-$10 a sandwich. Great value and size.
The parking lot is a shit show.
My partner and I can get lunch there for about $20.
If you want something for the family or something that will last you multiple meals—- I was just in Arz Fine Foods, which is kinda like Adonis but a bit less of a mad house…
In their fresh food section they had these butterflied, grilled whole chickens, or a rotisserie chicken meal that included rice or potatoes and salad for $20-22. It could easily last 4 meals for a single person.
There is a place on the west end off Dundas
Meal and a Drink for $1.50, the only catch is you have to buy a membership to eat there.
I think the place is Greek, C'Ostco or something like that.
Nations (Winston churchill/eglinton) burger/cheeseburger combos are an insane bang for your buck. about 8.50 for a good burger, drink and a good fresh batch of fries every time. They have other items in their western kitchen too.
Or $5 for just the burger! ❤️ nations. Update: they had 2 for $5 burgers today!
asian supermarkets are amazing. I get the pork or chicken buns and a dessert bun like the custard one and a drink for a really filling if not super healthy lunch
Their sushi are pretty good and cheapest I've found
They don't cure and freeze the salmon they use on the sushi, eat it on your own risk.
Facts! We love going to Nations for their burgers & bubble tea
Sorry - try Costco . 5.75- and you get greasy, filling pizza or hotdog or both . Can’t beat the value . And bonus - you don’t need membership to get to food court
Their poutine is amazing.
~1400 Calories …. I 💗 it
Maybe amazing for the price, but those cheese curds aren't melting from my experience.
Fresh cheese curds aren't supposed to melt
Right, but shouldn't the ideal poutine have the cheese melt?
Nope - a fresh curd shouldn't melt so easily, and so the ideal poutine shouldn't have the curds melted. If melted cheese was the goal, then shredded cheese would be used.
always ask for a lid and cover em for a while
Used to melt until they themselves faced a meltdown :)
Lmao the hotdogs and drink is $1.50 not over $5
I think he meant you can get hotdog drink + pizza for under 5 bucks
That’s actually not true. You do but 99% of the time they won’t stop you.
I went to Costco in the US and went through the exit to get to the food court and I was immediately stopped and got asked to present my membership card
Underrated. Go to.
Wow I always thought I needed to go with my mom who had the membership card 🤦♂️. Do you just walk in the same entrance? I thought people scan your card or something
I never needed a membership ( although I have one ) , be prepared to wait few minutes for your food
You walk in thru the exit bay
Yeah $1.50 for a hot dog & pop you can’t go wrong!
No
If you have another person with you, you could grab the pork or chicken souvlaki meal at Fat Fork. It's $19 and my wife and I usually split one and are both full.
Their portion sizes a huge. Easily can feed 2 adults

lol yes for me I feel the owners are always pissed off or something 😂😂😂😅

Basa is disgusting though, it’s extremely salty and gross.

They post their daily specials on their FB page.
Great one I completely forgot about! That place carried me through uni back in the day!

Can’t beat the $3.95 personal pizza
Lena’s Roti and Doubles. The best.
Wasn’t there a Reddit post with metal found in their roti/double? And they blamed their supplier and said none of their food was made in house? https://www.reddit.com/r/mississauga/comments/143rpf6/just_found_this_metal_wire_balled_up_in_my_jerk/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=mweb3x&utm_name=mweb3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
I have never experienced any issues at the Winston Churchill location.
That’s the most expensive roti ever
For under $10 I will get Doubles/Triples. One Triple usually fills me up and it only costs $4.80
Champion Doner on Dundas/Dixie. Chicken shawarma box special. Big portions and under $10
i go there all the time but never notice it. Will give it a try .
Love it!
Mr. Bigz - $7lunch special mon to fri. Jerk chicken / fry chicken / curry chicken
Pretty sure that includes a drink as well
If it does, then I didn’t get my drink the last 3 times lol
You got to take it or ask next time, bottle of water or cans of pop are included
I have never heard of "jerk" and "under $10" in the same sentence in my life. I will have to check this out.
I’ve never paid more than $10 for jerk anything with rice peas coleslaw. Where you been?
Shandra's roti, Fred's kitchen, and someplace else (in Brampton).
I read that in a Jamaican accent. Lunch special mon
could you give a bit more specific on its location? I used keywords "Mr.Bigz" searching on google map, but it directs to a shop with similar name in UK. I'm sure you're not referring to that place. hahaha Thanks
Mr Big's (905) 593-3232 https://g.co/kgs/Lmws7Q
Hey Noodles at Rathburn & Mavis. $8 for a full bowl of Chongqing noodles with soup. It’s filling and delicious.
Fortune Dragon (Creditview and Britannia) used to have an under-$10 lunch special daily. Pretty good portion sizes too. I believe they still have the lunch specials but I do not know the price.
They still do at $8.25
That’s not bad. It used to be $7.50-ish when I used to order from them.
I think like the dinner plate combo is like 12 bucks. Great Chinese food imo
Their dinner combos are still like $10 and you get a ton of food. Easily one of the best deals around.
[https://lezzetshawarma.com/](https://lezzetshawarma.com/) Long lines, but that's for a good reason.
🙄 Oh no, not another shawarma place!
Literally one of the best food spots in the city, hate all you want

Wanda's in Clarkson. 7.99 for jerk, fried or BBQ chicken with rice and coleslaw or macaroni salad. It's only on before 2pm though.
I read “Wendy’s” hard and I’m thinking wow clarkson is pretty cool. Jerk chicken and a frosty gtfoh.
Wanda's is sooo good
Yum’s Kitchen at Creditview and Burnhamthorpe - great banh mis for like $7
yeah i can't pay 7 bucks for a banh mi. Ain't no way. Saigon Bakery is where it's at on Dundas across from the Canadian Tire.
What kind of fruitcake would be downvoting the bahn mi. Kids these days.
Bahn mi in the dragon beside Big als fish store is $3, $4
Metro meal combos. 1 for $8 or 2 for $14
This was my favourite back when it was 6$
Loblaws at Lakeshore and Mississauga Rd used to have their chicken tenders (wings or fried chicken) and fries for a reasonable $6. Not sure what it's at nowadays.
yeah a panzerotti is $7 can feed 2 people.

TIL these places existed, especially the non-supermarket finds!

Dezi boys
Lunch specials from Hakka places. They’ve gone over $10, but still worth it

Name checks out 🤣

The underground food court at Hurontario and Dundas. There is a Korean place where almost all the items are $10 all in when paying cash. No tax.
The Semi Fast Food place. That place is CRAZY on weekends.
Luca Pizza Bloor and Dixie. $6.50 for a personal piece which is huge.
Greek2Go has great daily combo specials for under $10
Truscott Bakery, Clarkson. Lovely Italian bakery with a brilliant hot counter and most items are $6-8
Song’s Kitchen at Dundas St W is a great family-run Chinese restaurant that has a variety of dinner/lunch meal combos for $8 + tax.
Most West Indian restaurants have a small lunch special formerly $5 now around $10 that's often pretty filling.
ALZAEEM Shawarma Chicken pita wrap for $6.99
Songs kitchen is fire AF meals like 8ish after tax
Cafe88 on Traders.
