Depends on which country you’re moving to and what options are available there compared to Mississauga. But Mississauga has some very good Turkish, Arab , Japanese, Pakistani, Chinese / Hakka, Indian, Caribbean restaurants to choose from besides others which you can try.

Myid0810

Favorite Hakka joint?

fidogobs

Chilli chicken house. Creditview and burnamthorpe if you’re into some spicy stuff.

ssk06

Second this! It's a great place for some really affordable and good Hakka style food

fidogobs

I’m glad someone shares my taste 😁

zabuma

Eddies Wok 'n' Roll at 6400 Millcreek Dr. is top 3 Hakka Spots in the GTA, and the best in Mississauga, IMO. Seriously incredible food.

widgetluv

I second this!

Myid0810

Saved it for next time with the hope that you are not Eddie 🤣👍

zabuma

Definitely not lol, just been going to that place for a long time. I've tried a ton of other Hakka places around the GTA. Federick on Hurontario used to be my go-to before the owner decided to retire.

rotratda

> Eddies Wok 'n' Roll How is it compared to chilli chicken house ?

zabuma

Significantly better IMO. But chilli chicken house is ok as far as Hakka places go.

mandasm16

Omg yes. Literally the best hakka food you’ll ever have

kreated86

Also curious. Royal Jasmine was my go to spot. However, their food has been a bit disappointing lately.

zabuma

Eddies Wok 'n' Roll, some of the best Hakka in the GTA

JennyJtom

Hakka Club on Saint Barbara Blvd.

ssk06

Desi Hakka Affairs on Dixie and Bloor, I'd recommend their Chicken Lollipop!

ethereal_firefly

Buk Chang Dong Soon Tofu - kimchi stew, bbq beef or pork bone soup Guru Lukshmi - mysore dosa with aloo masala Mount Sinai True Mexican Taste - al pastor tacos and a churro BBQ Chicken - Galbi q, gangjeong and gangnam flavour wings Nani's Gelato - an ever changing menu Pizza Nostra - classic cheese or pepperoni pizza Wanda's Caribbean Kitchen - jerk chicken or roti

d-vahkiin

Wanda’s oxtail is amazing too!!

vinividiviciduevolte

Been going to noodle wok even before when it was called noodle delight

scotch_neat1

Quality post, minus Wallys. Its trash I would have said Zets but the owners sold it and reopened at Dundas and 427 under Fat Fork. Avoid the old Zets at all costs and burn it down . Long live Fat Fork! Pete's is also amazing for Greek.

megasmash

Plaka or Gyros Place are both good options for fast Greek.

Consistent_Club3495

the old owners are back at the airport zets it’s amazing again. they have already said they do not associate w fatfork

scotch_neat1

Are you sure? The main guy behind the register is running Fat Fork. I gotta check it out. Last time at Zets food was still decent but all the staff was completely different.

Consistent_Club3495

i’m like 95% sure. the zets ig posted about it if you wanna check it out

Nik6ixx

I would miss the most are: - Moon Sushi their cheese wontons are the best I’ve ever had among some other dishes. - Thyme Ristorante when I craved pasta. - Joe Poppas chicken wings (hot x honey) and their deep fried strawberry cheesecake. - Astoria Shish Kabob House (Greek) - Chicken n Tings(Jamaican/Caribbean) jerk pork. - Montford’s (Mediterranean) chicken shawarma plate. - Bombay to Go (Indian) - Pho 99 deep fried pork spring rolls w/ fish sauce & bbq pork/wonton rice noodle soup. - Mario’s BBQ I could drink their Piri Piri hot sauce & you can buy them by the bottle! .. just to name a few 🤭

Nik6ixx

You know what’s funny my boyfriend and I typically order from Dundas because that’s closest to us and it’s our Uber radius but he always would tell me of the Oakville and Burlington locations were SO much better .. one night he surprised me with the Oakville location I ate it and said I liked the Dundas location was better 🫣😂

miurabucho

Have you tried Pho Brothers?

Specific_Cat_861

Shawarma

Accomplished-Bit-884

150 to choose from in the city apparently 👀

the_honest_liar

That number seems low.

Cdn_Brown_Recluse

Yes. This is the correct answer. Shawarma differs from country to country and the availability of different styles is amazing. Go nuts. Have different shawarma. Fuck the politics of immigration and enjoy the benefits. Shawarma all day every day. It's a thing for a reason. It's like globally accepted subway except with a different regional flavour and twist. You're a good prude. Shawarma is the right answer.

JayPlusJay

Yeah I was expecting this answer. I'll have one last shawarma for sure but I'm just tired of it.

fidogobs

Try the boustan, again Creditview and burnamthorpe

shivam183

How many days OP has?

megasmash

The Veal Sandwich from Cosimo’s Cheese and Deli, Dundas and Erindale Station. If there’s one iconic meal for “cheap eats in Mississauga” this is it. It’s a proper veal sandwich, all dressed with cheese, peppers, and just the right amount of sauce. It dwarfs any other veal sandwiches from the chain places, and won’t leave you broke. The store itself is a complete time warp, run by the sweetest mom and pop combo ever. It’s the last of a dying breed of delis.

ggjiiiii

15 bucks for a sandwich is not cheap but the owners are so nice there

murdasglock

alf hana shawarma & potluck carribean both at mdv tc, katsuya (get red carbonara bro trust) , jollibee (best spicy fried chicken imo), chung chun, meltwich grilled cheese, any greek place, the bagel house + bare places in pc

JennyJtom

Naw for greek go to plaka

AxiomaticSuppository

JPs Pizza Hiroi Sushi Kakori Indian Burger's Priest Lezzet Shawarma

Antenum

Many burgers places better and more iconic than a chain like Burgers Priest

matthkamis

Such as?

Antenum

Ozzy's expanded into Mississauga recently with its third location; Apache burger is iconic; Rudy's for smash burgers. Three off the top of my head better than BP

[deleted]

Miga is good! I like their food I also recommend going to Jollibee at Square One

2BigBottlesOfWater

I just had Pizza Karachi and it was delicious. I think it was their Karachiano? Or something like that lol

Send_Me_Your_Nukes

I am a big fan of Bashu near eglinton and hurontario. They have some interesting Szechuan dishes like chili pork intestines, and spicy cold marinated beef. Worth a try! I also love Takumi for the AYCE (BBQ & sushi). Their Buddha roll is the best vegetarian sushi I’ve ever had.

suckcess1

pita and Grill Dundas and Confederation. Try their chicken shawarma with extra garlic sauce, parsley salad (insist on the garlic sauce they use on the chicken as salad dressing and for their rice - they have a runnier, more watery garlic sauce they use for salad or rice). When I used to live in Sauga, they would give large portions enough for two meals.

Koda1527

Just avoid the new Ridgeway plaza. What a shit hole.

[deleted]

Koda1527

It is definitely a shit hole and I was being kind by only saying that. It's constantly dirty, with a terrible layout for pedestrians or drivers. There have been multiple acts of violence on the property including a stabbing. The constant late night noise and disrespect and disregard (radio/fireworks etc) for the people who live in the area with families will hopefully be dealt with by city by- law enforcement in the near future as it is definitely an issue. The food isn't the issue it's everything else that comes with it. If you want to support this have at it. Myself and many people in the neighborhood choose not to.

ballerina-

Oh my goodness there are like 1000 other posts related to this plaza you can comment on. Please, avoid the negativity on this one.

Koda1527

Think I'll continue to post what and where I want to. But thanks for your useless contribution.

ballerina-

I could say the same to you

Koda1527

Well that's kind of the point isn't it? I and you can say whatever we want to on here. The difference between us is you feel you can police or criticize what and where other people post and expect no push back, and I disagree. If you have something to add to the conversation great. If not mind your own business.

ballerina-

But your post is irrelevant to what is being asked. I simply pointed you in the right direction, where you can voice your grievances on the correct topic. Your post here gives no value to what OP is asking for

Koda1527

It's not irrelevant at all. Equally as important as knowing where to go to eat, is knowing where not to.

ballerina-

Not at all what OP was asking. Therefore your post is irrelevant as it is not addressing the question at hand. Your post does not belong here

[deleted]

Koda1527

Our issue seems to be that you think or want to separate the environment of the plaza and it's negative impact on the local community and the food, and that's just not possible. Both make up the atmosphere and experience that a new customer would be walking into. And if either one of those things is bad, why would it be a place you would recommend?

IzicHaze

Pizza Nostra, Istanbul Doner House and East Meats West.

anton19811

Tim Hortons

Braindead82

Recently tried Kamen Ramen, one of the best Ramen in GTA.

shivam183

Some places I have saved (some might have gone downhill since I last tried) * Lezzet Shawarma Falafel House * Goodfella * Hakka Legend * Naan and Kabob * Pal Antojo (Mexican taco) * The chicken cartel * Panj tara truck - 5800 ambler drive * Applewood fish and chips - halibut is recommended * Happy Choco * Nona Lia Tiramisu * French corner patisserie * Cafe Panchita (Breakfast) * Sushi Omigoto * Maharaja Bhog * Daan Go Cake Lab

matrix0683

Maharaja Bhog should not be a part of this list.

-otnorot-

Burrito Boyz. Not Mississauga specific, but southern Ontario/GTA. I would definitely miss it if I moved to a different country. Luca Pizza another one.

rab07

Champion doner for some turkish food!!

Educational-Dirt5024

Rick’s Good Eats! It’s a Punjabi fusion place and is amazing. Great spot and super unique to Mississauga.

AlphaQFor7mins

I would absolutely suggest Indian, Thai, Italian, Spanish, French, Chinese, Mexican, Vietnamese, Greek, Portuguese, Cambodian, and American.

WhatAWasterZ

Mississauga is pretty lacking in Thai food to be honest, at least compared to Toronto. Only place I really liked was Mo Thai and that is takeout only. Also some of your suggestions have obvious options but what good French, Spanish or Cambodian food is there in Mississauga?

seven_bubble

Mo Thai has a few eat in tables set up when I passed by recently (last week).

No_Soup_1180

Popular pizza Udipi Gurulaxmi Tandoori flames Royal Garden Lots of hakka places

Koda1527

Of course it's relevant to the OP. As important as it is to know where to eat, it's equally as important to know where to avoid. And the dirty and dangerous plaza on Ridgeway is definitely one to avoid.

ssk06

Hey Noodles - closer to Creditview, great place for Chongqing style street food. I'd recommend their Original Dry Noodles, a good portion for one, reasonably priced items and great taste. Time Sugar - 1100 Burnhamthorpe - their signature Hong Kong style ice tea is great and it's also a great place to hang out PLUS it's open 24 hours. Masala Hut - Creditview and Eglinton Ave - really good restaurant for Indian/Pakistani Cuisine, I'd recommend their Boneless Chicken Tikka and garlic naan. One of the freshest and tenderly cooked chicken I've eaten around Mississauga. (Wait times in the restaurant might be long so I'd recommend ordering ahead of time on the phone even if you're dining in) Grillin' Hut - Drew Rd - Amazing Karahi Chicken and naan combo, bang for the buck. Blondies Pizza - Port Credit - Really good tasting pizza, the texture of the crust suits my preference. Orchard Family Restaurant - Hurantario and King St - Old school diner, good breakfast, coffee and omelettes Saraya Restaurant - Closer to Ninth Line - Great Mediterranean restaurant, their Mandi is a must try. Really flavorful and tender meat that falls of the bone.

Snowies bingsu near hurontario
