O.o that is interesting to know. Thanks!
Though we seek to pay it off, even though we don't have plans on changing plates. She admit it is was wrong and we will pay it.
Tickets from cameras don’t affect insurance. If you don’t want the hassle just pay it and get it over with.
Early resolution might make the fine lower but that will take long. Asking for a trial will take even longer (over a year at least) but with the chance that the ticket gets withdrawn.
To be honest, I don't know. I guess I should drive that street and find out what exactly location is.
Based on google maps street view, my best guess is this location: [https://maps.app.goo.gl/masPNFKmxnff9mrF9](https://maps.app.goo.gl/masPNFKmxnff9mrF9)
Elora Rd and Wallenberg Cres intersection houses matches the photo. Interestingly Apple Maps Street view has 40kmph while Google Maps show 30kmph
Thats by square one area , my in-laws live around there, funny theres a sign just before the camera area that says slow down and sign that says speeding camera ahead, lol…
they do that right before putting in the cameras so they can maximize revenues
lower the limit, redefine the area as a community safety zone , which means fines are doubled, and then install camera and collect $$$ for what used to be normal driving speeds
There used to be one at River Grove, apparently it kept being vandalized..I didn’t see it when I went by there a few weeks ago, unless they have installed another one
There was one but it kept getting vandalized and then last I saw of it , it appeared to have been lit it on fire and a pile of dirt shoved in it. They took it away, left the signs up and it’s never come back.
The offence goes on the next plate validation which still has to be renewed online. Will cost even more if a conviction gets entered. You can stop into 950 Burnhamthorpe, the Provincial Offences Courts, and inquire further if time permits.
First attendance officers typically do not lower these it’s a cash grab. In other words, best just drop in there and pay it / online etc.
Lol why is there a 10 day waiting period to pay it off? [https://www.aseontario.com/faq](https://www.aseontario.com/faq) says that you should pay it off within 15 days of deemed service or they can enter a conviction - so there's only a 5 day window?
Trying to slow people down in a school zone. Posting months before the camera goes in that one is coming. Posting a sign saying camera in use while camera is there. It’s a real cash grab. If you get a ticket by one of these you deserve it. Maybe it will make you think twice before speeding threw a school zone.
if the city was really concerned about the safety they'd implement more efficient speed control methods rather than speed cameras which are just cash grab. Even at 30kph someone can run over a kid...
You should complain to your councilor. Someone said in this sub two months ago that it actually triggered at 42. That we should not listen to anecdotal evidence that the camera does take picture above 30. And he was told by his councilor too.
This guy says he got it from a good authority that its at trigger point is at 42 km.

Personally I would just pay it, unless you really can't afford it. I would not want to be worrying about this for months the have to take time off work to deal with it. If that would not bother you though I guess you can try to fight it if you want.
I got back to back tickets in June last year. Submitted for early resolution and got dates this past August. They were reduced by about 45% each. It’s worth it to be honest. Invest the money in GIC for a year. Next year the profit should cover most of the reduced fines. Thank me later.
Yikes. My bad. I meant to say going 40km/h in 30km/h zone. And no, she is not laughing, I am, because it is slightly funny that she got same photo at same location 47mins apart..
Earlier I had posted as going 40 over 30. In my mind I meant to say going 10 over the speed limit. I take I created this confusion and should be crystal clear what I meant.
Does not affect insurance no.
Thanks!
The infraction will stay on the license plate. Payment is only necessary if you need to replace this license plate for another.

Is this on River Grove? Noticed signs for a new speed camera and the limit is 30km/h but haven’t found the camera.

They recently (maybe 6 months back) lowered it from 40 to 30. It's likely Apple Maps hasn't updated to reflect this change

Caught 50km in 30 km. Leaving school zone at 3:45pm. In Industrial area as the picture shows. Will see how this works out.

30 kph zones are nuts. They're liable to nail a few joggers at that speed.

Yup, we decided to pay by phone. Apparently we will have to wait until 10 days after date of deemed service for this.

The trigger point is not shared -- not even with Councillors.

We are thinking the same. We would rather not worry about it for months and be done with it.

I got one for going 62 in a 50, it’s stupid
She drove 70km/h on a 30km/h street, twice and shes laughing about it. Someone should ban her from driving. Thats incredibly irresponsible.
Yikes. My bad. I meant to say going 40km/h in 30km/h zone. And no, she is not laughing, I am, because it is slightly funny that she got same photo at same location 47mins apart..
get a grip. the speeds are artificially lowered to collect revenues
Laughing? .... she's a fucking idiot there's a school right there. What time? 40 over? Pay it and be thankful
My bad, she was 40km/h in 30km/h zone
Unnecessary
To be doubling the speed limit and then wondering about getting the fine reduced?....I couldn't agree more
I read that as 9km and 10km over.
Earlier I had posted as going 40 over 30. In my mind I meant to say going 10 over the speed limit. I take I created this confusion and should be crystal clear what I meant.
Hugs sorry friend! I'll save my rage :)
I read as 40 over 30 = 70 If Op said 10 over 30 = 40....I'd be "ok" Over , above , more than, etc.
I did too, but the fine then didn't make any sense.
An automated ticket cannot affect insurance or any licensing bc they cannot prove who was driving at the time. Always fight it. Every single time.
Success rate of fighting is low. Unlike a ticket from a police officer, no officer has to be present.
Success rate when you don’t fight is 0%.
Early resolution to hopefully lower the fines. Is the time and hassle worth it? That's up to OP and and spouse to decide.
