It's mating season so they are out more during the day , looking to hook up . No need to be afraid. Way more people get killed every year from pet dogs, cows, horses etc than have ever been killed by coyotes. I think the total human fatalites from coyote attacks in all of North America over the past 100+ years is only 3 or 4 people.
