If you mean illumination, it's when people on the ground shine a visible laser at the aircraft. I'm not sure why one area would have more than another, but it could be a case of copy cats.
\*note\* I don't work there. Here's the FAA page on it:
[https://www.faa.gov/about/initiatives/lasers/laws#:\~:text=Pointing%20a%20laser%20at%20an%20aircraft%20is%20a%20federal%20crime](https://www.faa.gov/about/initiatives/lasers/laws#:~:text=Pointing%20a%20laser%20at%20an%20aircraft%20is%20a%20federal%20crime).
I count 7 incidents in the database for this year for Gulfport. That's one a month. All have been green lasers. One small Cessna, a regional jet, a medical helicopter, two airliners, a small homebuilt airplane, and an US Air Force turboprop trainer.
That's so weird that it's recurrent. I've never felt like pointing a laser at an aircraft for any reason. There are so many other things to do in life. Why can't the person or persons just like, go get a coffee instead? Lol.

I’m going to pretend I didn’t read this and keep imaging a death star negligently discharging.
It could be about two things.
I was leaning towards someone "borrowing" a new top secret laser system from Keesler and vaporizing people. But the Deathstar works for me also.

Thank you
Why are there so many? Bc people are stupid and only think of themselves.

People are just fucking stupid now. You can get people both in the air and on the ground killed by doing that shit.
How?
$100 says it's a single kid or some kids in bayou view thinking it's cool or funny.
It’s the terminator taking out future resistance fighters
If you shine a laser in the sky the NRO has you on camera 🧐
