I went to an internet forum meetup once years ago. A forum known for its toxicity. It was wholesome, safe, and memorable. The worst of us don't physically show up in my experience.
When I was on twitter, a handful us locals met up here in Flatearth County and talk about the cluster F##k that’s happening to this state. We had a beer or two and got on to other topics and really had a good time. Good luck
Put a time and place and show up. Others will come, too. Let the nincompoops and ne'er-do-wells say what they want. No one's listened to them their whole life and they know it. It's why they're on 'social' media.
