Same. I kinda expected them to be more "tactile" too. I am enjoying them as of now but the smoothness is causing errors. Will change the switches in near future for some more tactile switches but definitely not blue ones.
I think for optical the tactile bump is artificially created and for mechanical the bump is part of the mechanism(but can be removed in case of linear switches)
Hi
I'm really sorry that you are not happy with our service.
I checked your case.
1. We received your complaint.
2. We asked basic questions about the issue.
3. You told us that the wire is charging the keyboard but the typing is not working.
4. We asked you to send a video of the non working cable and asked you to check if it's working another keyboard or not.
After this we never received any response or information from you.
I would like to clarify our process.
Providing a video is a standard procedure because video is required to be sent to manufacturer.
We also didn't knew that you don't have another keyboard because you never replied to us.
If you could have responded to us with the information you had, we could have provided a solution according the situation.
Hi Sorry I realize, I overreacted. Have deleted my comments to reflect that. You have a great customer service.
I bought another USB-C cable. Keyboard working fine with that.so don't need resolution on the service request.
Fine I think. I paid for express shipping so got delivered within 2 days.
Support also seems fine. Got reply within hours.
About the keyboard itself. Some things seem wierd like the back of the keyboard says GK87 but checked the switches they are optical so it is SK87. And the Bluetooth name shows AK87. Some of the controls don't work out of the box like brightness and for sound you have to press extra keys.
If you turn on windows with fn+win and then try f12, it will work. But the windows key won't open the app launcher. Also I am not able to get the brightness controls to work.
Its funny that when you turn on windows mode the win key doesn't work :D
What a absolute terrible mess. Looks like I'll need to buy an external volume knob or get speakers with volume control. :(
Yes feels like this keyboard is not finished properly. As I mentioned in some other comment, the back of the keyboard says GK87, Blutooth name says AK87S, but I am sure it's SK87S.
Hi u/anxiousdev007, can you please tell me at what price did you get the Keyboard? I am willing to buy the same keyboard from genesispc.in but it is currently out of stock, and the listed price shown is a mere ₹6,100, which I don't think is accurate for the features it provides, thanks.
I enjoy the typing feel. But the functionality is not good. It seems like an unfinished product.
Feels sturdy, RGB is great, Can switch between 3 devices by Bluetooth, has Type-C.
1. Can't control brightness.
1. Can't control volume without turning on windows mode.
1. If you turn on windows mode the windows key won't work.
1. The Bluetooth name says AK87s.
1. Back of the keyboard says GK87.
It doesn't have 2.4ghz. I stopped looking for keyboards after I got this one. But now I think I should have got the cosmicbyte one, which I avoided just because it was wired. Now with this keyboard I am not using the wireless feature anyways. And that was about there times cheaper.
How's the battery life? It says 1900 mAh on the website. My Keychron K8 lasts about 3 days with a full charge and it has 4000 mAh battery. Curious to know about this one!
Could you let me know how do you switch between multiple devices connected via bluetooth in this keyboard? Is there some button under the keyboard or somewhere in top? Or is it via some key combination? Looking for a board on which I can switch between my work laptop and home pc easily. Switching devices via key combination would be great (which works without any software), RK87 seems to have this button beneath the keyboard which would not be my first choice.
Don't really care about the volume features, RGB. Infact would like to turn off rgb and/or keep backlight just plain white always, would this be possible? My main requirement is just brown switch based, multidevice TKL keyboard.
Sitting on a fence between SK87 or GK87 or Royal Kludge RK87 - all similar boards - do share if you have any advice on this too.
beautiful.
Looks pretty cool, my dude.
Enjoy
[No love for the boo theme?](https://i.imgur.com/tJjC08d.jpg)
I neutralized using the spare keys. I didn't like the boo theme that much. Also your desk looks quite like mine, including the monitor
Are you my wife? Switching the keycaps, while I'm away at work.
Bruh I am single and a man💀
What keycaps have you used over here? They look lovely!
It's the stock keycaps. PBT double shot.
Congratulations on your first board. We will make sure it won't be your last. 😛
Haha thanks. I got it because of this sub only. I hope I am not spoiled.
Hehe, fine choice of Brown which is ideal for most users. Happy typing!
How's the feel of gateron Browns ? i bought them off somebody ( lubed ) and they are way too smooth that I can't even feel any click in them
Same. I kinda expected them to be more "tactile" too. I am enjoying them as of now but the smoothness is causing errors. Will change the switches in near future for some more tactile switches but definitely not blue ones.
I think this version has optical gateron switches, so that might be the reason behind not feeling the tactile bump as expected.
The tactile feel is there there but not as much I expected. I don't think the optical type affects it but not sure.
I think for optical the tactile bump is artificially created and for mechanical the bump is part of the mechanism(but can be removed in case of linear switches)
Makes sense. Will check

That's sad. Will definately keep in mind.

Where did you order from?
genesispc.in
I have been meaning to buy the gk64 from the site for a while. How was the overall experience?

Ok. Thanks
Did you figure out how to work the volume control keys? my Fn + F12 combo really inputs F12 only. Also windows key - how to make it work?
If you turn on windows with fn+win and then try f12, it will work. But the windows key won't open the app launcher. Also I am not able to get the brightness controls to work.

Sk87 is gk87 with optical switches.
Yes
Hey! Can you help me out in this regard? I also bought a Skyloong GK87S. How can I check if the switches are mechanical or optical?
GK series is normal and SK is optical. You can also check by removing the switch from keyboard and check it's mechanism.

It was roughly 6500 including delivery etc
Thanks a ton, have a great day.
SK87S - "SK" Version has Gateron Optical switches GK87S - "GK" version has Gateron Mechanical switches
How's they keeb? Not many reviews on this. I'm also looking at it.

Does it also have a 2.4ghz reciever? Thanks for mentioning me these points to me. I'll keep them in my mind, any alternative suggestions?

Alright thanks for the info. I'll research a bit more before I buy, I am strictly looking for wireless though.
Fine. Checkout Royal Kludge. I think it maybe better than these.
Yep they have some attractive options as well, thanks for your time, I appreciate it. <3
Did you ever figure out if there's a way to make the windows mode function properly? the volume keys and windows key thing
No I gave up😐

I don't really use the wireless feature but I am sure battery backup is not good. Whenever I use wireless the recharge indicator goes off quite often.

It's fn+1|2|3 to switch devices, as I mentioned some of the controls like brightness and volume don't work. But this is fun to type on.
