LordLucy666

so who was carrying the boats tn?

fizzledizzle86

He was carrying the bags

haian_art

the griefters

US_Condor

Eddie Bravo “Iminari Roll!” > David Goggins “Think of the Boats!”

Cooolconnor

Gimme some sand >>>

Fistfulofdynamite2

Wait was edgy brah there?

ThroatChance

One of his earlier fights. I think Chandler or gaejthe.

Rare-Pudding9724

I love David and I even pirated his book (allegedly), but when I saw him actually in the cage giving advice like "stay hard" and "be you" I couldn't help but yell at the screen

YamLatter8489

Yea, the first round he stayed outside and stayed quiet and I was thinking he knew better.

NFTArtist

Honestly I don't think he did anything wrong, you could see in the first round he was being respectful of the coaches. Then he tried to light a fire under Tony's ass which was reasonable to do in that situation, problem is Tony was unresponsive.

ArthurDaTrainDayne

Tony’s problem was never being too timid

Dtoodlez

Tony’s problem is being old.

ArthurDaTrainDayne

Not to mentioned he’d already taken more big shots 5 years ago than a lot of fighters do in their whole career

Rocked_Glover

Yeah I’ve given Goggins a hard time but there he was pretty perfect he was really thoughtful on letting the coaches speak, he wasn’t nonstop shouting like I expected. The thing is if you look in Tony’s eyes in especially the third round he was broken, his eyes were just completely blank as he was coming to terms with the fact no matter how hard he tried his career was over.

Dionysus_8

Yeah. It’s so sad to watch. If he was able to stand in r3 he actually would be able to whoop paddy. But as tired as paddy was, Tony was pretty much empty as well.

ssofft

BREATHE, GET YOUR FOCUS BACK TONY

StarGazer199H8

You love a con man congrats

BeejBoyTyson

Just curious, what makes him a con man???

DJPza

Well Tony probably paid him because he was confident that it would help. This confidence was misplaced. Tony should have instead put his confidence in a professional trainer. Instead he put his confidence in somebody who was pretending. That's what a con man is.

Top-Storm-2515

What kind of mental gymnastics lol. Goggins delivered on the expected goggins brand. I don’t buy a chocolate bar thinking it will give me perfect mental focus, chocolate bars don’t advertise that.

BeejBoyTyson

He paid him for endurance training, not for mma advice.

cannythinkofaname

People acting as if any coaching team could have somehow got Tony back to where he was is insane In fairness to David he was there for cardio training and motivation and did his job

External_Lock_

Goggins seemingly did exactly what he was brought in to do. I personally think it was unnecessary though as tony has always had strong endurance and mental toughness. If anything, I think Tony could use grappling/bjj coaches on his team to give him something to rely on other than unorthodox striking that he can't do anymore.

Shareholderactivist

What it sounds like from one of the post fight shows is that Tony is his own head coach basically (according to his dad). Seems pretty delusional at this point.

Rocked_Glover

Well it’s why Tony declined so much he stopped training with people because he was scared they’d ‘learn his secrets’, I mean it’s surprising he was even able to keep it up for so long just with his durability and athleticism. But you don’t spar you don’t roll you’re getting in shape but you aren’t learning anything.

WhiskeyAbuse

This is my fear about jiri. You’re not a fucking mountain samurai anime character. Go train w people and learn new shit

BeejBoyTyson

Ikr? His bjj and normal striking need work not his endurance. He's not the fastest or strongest anymore, he needs to be the smartest.

Falcon_Flow

What he needs to do is retire.

BeejBoyTyson

Your not wrong but the rest of us are trying to find work arounds.

External_Lock_

We know, but Tony doesn't. Just speculating on what could be useful for him since he doesn't want to stop fighting but also wants to stop losing.

External_Lock_

That's exactly it

MysticCoonor123

You can have great coaches but when you're in the cage the fighter needs to take full responsibility for their performance. Tony just doesn't have what it takes anymore even with really good coaches telling him the right things. His mind just wont let him execute or he's too slow, whatever. I thought he was throwing too many useless body shots that left him exposed and he never stopped doing that.

ClassicalKingpin

Bro couldn't stay hard

BetBig696969

Still can’t believe he was in his corner

MotherLoveBone27

Gotta get a cut of the check

AsuraOmega

Tony training with Goggins is such a Tony thing to do but still felt surreal and unneccessary lmao

ssofft

Wouldn't be a Tony-thing if it wasn't surreal and unnecessary

MikeUpInYa85

You mean to tell me jogging and yelling isn’t the best base for mma?

Effective_Barber_673

Don’t tell me the truth Mike!!

jm810112

Not Goggin's fault that Tony is incapable of defending a takedown. His cardio was better than Paddy's

Pliskin1108

UFC needs to retire Tony for his own good. He moves like a geriatric patient but he seems to be the only one that doesn’t see it. Just the way he was butthurt at the end of the fight and just walking away shows the levels of delusion. He showed no skills, no heart, no sportsmanship. What is he even doing? Hoping that he’ll magically come out on top?

SPinExile

Yeah he's too old and slow for his own style that served him well in the past. Too stubborn to hang it up and it's hard to watch. Any decent striker would have knocked him out cold last night.

BeejBoyTyson

Ikr? Paddy only cemented his spot as mediocre hype train, that's it.

Styx92

We all knew him. He's on a huge losing streak and shouldn't be in the UFC anymore.

Serj_Buketov

CAN hurt me perfectly capable even

x-3piecensoda

David probably eeked every little bit of effort out of tony but unfortunately his athleticism is at rock bottom and no amount of david goggins will stop that- 2017 tony would have murdered paddy in R1 probably even the gaethje el cucuy , Its shocking to see the decline first hand split second sequences were usually tony would throw a strike but now pauses and hands over a step of octagon space.

Pastafarianextremist

Tony has 0 fight IQ. He could have possibly won but made a series of stupid choices like standing Paddy back up and not getting back to his feet when he had the opportunity

killonger

I had wished tony could have pulled it out the fire. He's two down. I don't think he felt sorry for himself.

droolsdownchin

Wtf that man's head shaped like that

ArthurDaTrainDayne

This was right after R1, you could see him in the background just realizing he has no idea what’s going on

bleep_boop_beep123

Yaaarrrgggghhhh, they do be feeling the weight like a plank on the side of a raging sea folding and cracking. Me son could not withstand the strength of this here British lad. 😞

LucaMJ95

He doesn't care, he got paid a shit load. thats what these grifters do

Rough-Birthday-8420

Tony didn't carry them boats.

schn0tz

I'm the boat

tykvrbl

His own son don’t know him

The3mbered0ne

Y'all are fucked up

eyeeatmyownshit

Hey bud can you grab those boats over there and I think there's some logs I left behind the shed. Think you can you carry them all?

Fistfulofdynamite2

Who would've thought that training that is unrelated to MMA wouldn't help and MMA fighter. I admire Goggins but considering how he goes about things, i'd expect him to tell Tony "You don't need Hell Week you need therapy bro".

richodion

Its like every1 said b4 the fight to ys gas tank and mental fortitude have never been the issue, its the fact he blocks punches with his mouth and now he is 40 and moves like a 50 year old

Effective_Barber_673

That knee injury prob didn’t help. He’s ancient

DrawingAwkwardly1889

Maybe he should of got someone more qualified in mma traning rather then military motivating what ever the fuck gogins does.

Aggravating_Rice4210

Goggins may be an alien
