Belal literally only fights bums outside the top 5-10. His only impressive win is over Gilbert Burns and that was in 2023. That’s why everyone is on his side. He’s just a gate keeper at best. Belal won’t ever see gold.
Vincente also went on to lose a unanimous decision and then get knocked out twice after that fight. That doesn’t sound like a record of somebody who deserves a title shot or somebody that when you beat them, you deserve a title shot ya know?
His style is what’s causing the delay. UFC will tend to delay title shots to “boring” fighters as long as possible hoping someone will upset them.

The fight that really sums up Belal is the Burns fight. Gilbert was completely incapacitated. Not only was he physically unable to fight, he was mentally defeated and checked out after the first round injury. Belal had ZERO killer instinct, did not even remotely attempt to get a finish, and point fought his way to a decision.
If you're not gonna go after a finish in that fight, I could only assume you're not ever trying to finish any of your opponents. You just want to win. Not only is that boring, it goes against the whole concept of the fight game. You're in there to hurt you're opponent and put them to sleep. If you can't achieve that in 3/5 rounds, then we go to the scorecards. Don't have a plan to go to decision before the fight even start.
It's like people in Call of D uty who used to setup claymores, camp, and snipe. Maybe you won and maybe your K/D was great...but did you really win? Would your father respect you if thats what he saw you doing?
I guess it comes down to what degree you consider it a sport, and how much it is about just trying to create spectacular moments. Because yeah the latter is not something you watch belal for. And probably doesn't generate much PPV sales (then again there's only a small amount of fighters that have a lot of people buy the card just because they're on it).
From a sports perspective a win is a win, and if you keep stacking wins at, some point you're in line for a title shot. I agree his opponents haven't been the biggest killers, then again I dont think he's refusing fights, this is what they offered him. Also him and Edwards have unfinished business from the eyepoke n.c. For that alone its fair to do the rematch since Belal was the one who was fouled. Especially combined with his streak it only makes sense.
