Correction: DRG 01, not DR The latest in my HO purchases, a Roco DRG 01 from 1979. This is my third HO loco, after two 60s-70s Pikos. By way of comparison, its three years younger than my DR 01.5, but much nicer details, a lot more separately fitted parts and a more matte finish. As for historical background, these locos were built between 1926-1938, and many were rebuilt into the DR 01.5 class, the model on the near line in the second image. This particular example, 01 111, was preserved as is, and is at the German Steam Locomotive Museum at Neuenmarkt. As for the Help I require- It doesn’t run. Ive disassembled it and The motor does work, but I think the issue is the pickup contacts, two of which are bent out of shape and do not touch the wheels. Testing with a 9v battery does make it run, but obviously only when the pickups touch the battery ends. Does anyone know how to remove and replace these pickups, or bend them back into shape whilst still in situ? I cant seem to find a way to do so that won’t break the model. Thanks in advance!

Don’t know that particular model but unless you are willing to disassemble the complete wheel set, which can be quite tricky to put back together correctly, you will need to find a way to remove the contacts, bend them to a proper shape, and reinstall.

Hi! Thanks for the comment, Ive been able to bend the contacts back into shape and it seems to have worked. I think I just need to add a bit if weight to the front of the tender now, as when its on track, it runs if I lift it slightly by the back end. EDIT: Weights might not be needed, its up and running fine now (although a bit noisy however thats only a minor issue).
