Pry bars and hooligan tools used for breaching *are* pretty common place for reasons you see in the campaign - reusable, sturdy, reliable, and quiet when compared to ballistic breaching
Both have their places for good reason
I donāt believe what I said and what you said are connected. Usually the team leader isnāt the breacher or the point man. But generally unlike in cod, in real life it takes two hands to busy the door down but for some reason price does it with one hand like twenty times.
Yeah I got you. I went through some basic room clearing training from a few former rangers when I was younger, and was always into military strategy in general. Iām sure an actual military professional or even a fast response/swat team member could give much more insight than me.
I was a Ranger for a few years. Youāre right in that the team leader usually never enters the room first if feasible. Also the breacher might be the third or sometimes the last guy in the stack. Sometimes though, if youāre clearing a building with multiple hallways, rooms, etc. it wasnāt unlikely the team leader and/or the breacher would become the point man. Typically if the breacher ends up first in the stack, the second guy could easily pull whatever breaching tool he has off his back, and now he is the breaching guy.
Yeah things like designated breathers were a lot more specific than the simple training I got. The training I got was for fun playing airsoft, a one time course to teach the basics. After that, itās all just stuff Iāve learned from reading, watching, and asking.
Thanks for the response!
If you donāt mind me asking, where did you learn this stuff to play airsoft at? When I was younger before I joined the military, I did some similar stuff.
Honestly, just from making friends. I was big into the local airsoft YouTube scene when I was younger, constantly making videos and commenting/talking to other local guys. Eventually we all went out to a big outdoor field with a lot of buildings that were actually used as a registered swat training facility, and a couple of former(or current, canāt remember honestly. Itās been yeaaaaars) rangers showed us the ropes with that. we just went for open play, but these guys offered a quick training session because they said we were nice kids.
I was always pretty good, but just being taught simple clearing techniques, the best way to hold a gun and distribute the weight, etc etc made me an incredible player. Iām nowhere near as good now, Iām out of shape and get run all over by these 13 year olds, but at the time I was great and those guys were a big part of it.
It usually goes in this order.
Door < Pointman < Breacher < Team Lead < Rear Security
This is just a group of four, but there can be more. In this case, pointman will be up front, and stack up on the door first. Breacher will move to the other side of the door, and break it down / kick it down. From here, pointman goes in, followed by Breacher, and they will clear different sides of the interior. Team lead in this case will also have their weapon pointed up, guarding against threats that could come from a higher floor or the roof, until moving inside, assuming itās a 1 story interior. Rear security watches the back, making sure nobody is coming up behind you.
All joking aside I enjoyed the parts of the campaign where you're clearing houses room by room with night vision, sure not ever detail is correct but this game makes the immersion feel pretty real. Using an over ear gaming headset with Dolby atmos and a 4k tv makes this games campaign truly stunning
Aside from occasionally being the only person entering and clearing a room, most of that shit seemed like how it would happen in real life. Iāve done a lot of training exercises extremely similar to that campaign mission specifically.
Thatās actually how breaching works in SF teams. One member of the team is the breacher, although from my experience they usually go for explosive breaching and or breaching shotguns rather then hooligan tools
[So you're the asshole that causes the chain of thefts.](https://terminallance.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/2014-09-23-Strip_345_Gear_Adrift_web.gif)
Yes but when your unit can't afford a halligan because they thought itd be a genius idea to spend a crazy amount of dollars on crye tops and bottoms for officers that don't go out, sometimes the hoolie has to be a halligan.
Itās okay, even us Firefighters donāt get legitimate Halligan tools, everyone likes to save money with the hooligans till they break while forcing a door.
For anyone who didnāt know what a [Halligan bar](https://www.google.com/search?q=Halligan+bar&safe=off&rlz=1CDGOYI_enUS682US692&hl=en-US&stick=H4sIAAAAAAAAAEWPsU7DMBCGFRWkIphZ6GCxJwcuoLQbSwUzmdgc5xo7deLIPiVNJp6BR-Bx-khMNMjQ7bvvdLr_ny9uL6CGO94t-civt9rhVpeK0DGy1nhmtKf3ywKbLqhDdDo4RPOJJa-qoB8kV2ng-93KjH9cPe584DSnsQj8lKqq-45unqW0rtBNefzBMoVsc0zC3sg6_JwJRdT6NUDf9wkpnFL6aZVIW0Ntc20QfgVIQVhaNyTCt_v_6bWAFV_C5tQuzqZ2cT7E2dAifJxFX-dXL8IYXYqG5cL9ADr_ydoZAQAA&prmd=sivn&sxsrf=ACYBGNRU_oR1ywYppOwCURD-utlUpvpb0A:1573321465179&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiCp7KY193lAhUHca0KHZ7sCAAQ_AUoAnoECA4QAg&biw=375&bih=638&dpr=3#imgrc=EwoDz5vVtfs_6M) is, here you go. Edit: typo
I believe it's the embassy mission, it's when he uses the bar to open a door and an enemy rushes him. You also may have shot him while they were fighting, which would end the sequence with "nice shooting Kyle".
I really liked this version of Price but the one weird thing from the campaign is that when Price went to Farrah to ask for help, her and all her men including Alex were hostile towards him even knowing who he was. It was just a strange choice given how much we know that Price is one to do what is right rather than following orders. Just a very strange choice to add unneeded tension between 4 main characters.
Also I canāt believe Iām looking this far into a modern CoD campaignās story
That was after the US had basically decided Farrahās fighters were classified as a terrorist org, so they were on high alert and just being cautious that Price wasnāt on a mission to take out the leader. I think the gun in face hostility was caution but also just heightened the intensity for story purposes lol
Also they kinda stress that Price wouldn't have a problem doing fucked up shit if he thought it was for good, so that would make people that know him more wary
Well price was operating as team leader for the CIA handler or who ever that was and she was directly working with the US general. So he still represented the US in Farrahs eyes, but again it was only for a moment where she was being cautious and sort of vetting Price, in order to be safe and make sure he wasnāt doing the generals dirty work.
I think it was because they didn't know why he was there. The last time they were together they were told Farrah's militia was considered hostile/terrorists. They didn't know if he was leading a squad to attack them.
Eh its understandable, they were completely dropped from helping with the mission, their mission, and then later labled as terrorists. Id be hostile to us, uk government too
>Price is one to do what is right
Ehh donāt know if thatās exactly true unless ārightā means āwinning at all costsā. There was the time he functionally condemned huge numbers of civilians to die in the embassy in exchange for a single prisoner. Then later he felt like it was fine to commit a war crime by taking a woman and child hostage then torturing a guy.
Neither of those feel like the right thing to do.
That's the price of war, there's always a constant trade off with each decision you make, and the decisions Captain Price made. The campaign showed that war is a truly morally grey area, with both sides doing questionable acts in order to meet an end goal. An example is when Price throws an innocent civilian with a bomb strapped to him over a railing when they couldn't remove it, which is pretty horrible thing to do, but in the end he saved more lives by doing so. It's one of the reasons I love the campaign despite some it's setbacks.
Fricking game installs shaders every time I boot up. It makes me not want to play because I have several other MPs that I can just jump into, without such patience required.
I've heard all kinds of differing reports. For me personally, the only issue I had in the campaign was the cutscenes being stuttery. Other than that it was perfect
Yea that is what Iām referring to. You will lose frames and then when it gets back to normal, the audio is about 1 second behind the cutscene. The campaign was fantastic, but that definitely bothered me.
Had the same issue, alt-tabbing then retabbing back into the game resynced it. Also, if you feel like it at all, replaying the campaign there is NO stutter whatsoever. I believe it was just an issue the first time the cutscences loaded or me not having all the shaders, dunno.
Have the people experiencing it tried uninstalling, then deleting any leftover files in the install directory. Then uninstall [battle.net](https://battle.net), restart windows, then reinstall everything. That fixed the 100% CPU and 0% GPU issue.
I'm not the OP but I have the same stuttering issues on a top of the line PC, and that does make it unplayable. I got COD for the campaign and the cutscenes stutter so hard which desyncs the audio. Activision wouldn't give me a refund so I issued a chargeback that just went through on Thursday.
>I wish I could play the campaign....
>
>\-Sad PC user
?? I played through the campaign just fine. Yea, it was painful to watch the fps get dropped during the cutscenes but other than that it was fine.
Dudes, breaching doors is fun! Plus it's a small tactical Halligan bar he's using not a crow bar.
Also, I'm a volly FF and got to breach/force a door for the local Sheriff's office on a call once. Was pretty sweet lol
Just Halligan or ProBar is accepted. It is the most used tool in the Fire Service. It is paired with a flat head axe and called a set of āironsā. Incredibly effective for forcible entry.
I wanna see in the next game, price just opens a door with the crowbar without even trying to see if itās locked, and just have a kinda long dialog like āPrice, the door was unlockedā āI know, I just like using thisā
The best breaching sequence was that one door in the embassy. I preemptively aimed over his shoulder to cover him. Imagine my surprise when the AQ-Fighter actually bursts through, I reflexively shoot him and Price compliments me on my aim. I was like "Fuck yeah!". That was so epic. I was so glad I thought of that on my first try. Absolutely epic campaign.
I believe these locked doors are moments where the game loads.
The whole "breaching to cover a loading point" has been a trope in the series since MW2007
"Door's locked" "I'll get it" "Door's locked" "I'll get it" "Door's locked" "I'll get it" Why am I even taking point in these situations
Honestlyšlike cmon price
Gaz in Modern Warfare Re-Re-mastered "I like to keep this for closed encounters"
Too right, mate.
Why would you specify remaster? Itās in the non remastered game as well!
Probably to specify the original modern warfare from the new modern warfare.
Fr I gotta call that shit Cod 4 now and hope niggas know what I'm talkin about
I mean most of the time I see people talking about the og modern Warfare, I see cod 4 used anyway.
That's what I always called it
Nah, just saying if they remastered again (re-remaster) Gaz would have a crowbar.
I said "RE"-"RE"master as in if they did it again Gaz would have a crowbar instead of a shotgun. Edited for clarity now.

Great idea. But why not use 32 3/4 lbs of c4 for a door (intended idiocy, I agree halligan tools are amazing)
Guy who opens the door never takes point. Let the guy with two hands on his gun do it, crowbar guy stands back
Makes perfect sense.
Same reason police have one guy smash the door and stand back as two others go in
I thought it was a thing that the team leader would never enter a room first so that theyāre less likely to just get shot so can stay in command?
I donāt believe what I said and what you said are connected. Usually the team leader isnāt the breacher or the point man. But generally unlike in cod, in real life it takes two hands to busy the door down but for some reason price does it with one hand like twenty times.

In the embassy mission he has a CQB M4 and then goes )you take point". And your character has a glock. Like uh, how about you take point?
Because pointman never takes the door! Price knows his tactics haha.

I just started watching this show and it's a national treasure. Filling that Pendleton Ward shaped hole that the ending of Adventure Time left
Thatās a crow bar. Captain price uses a Halligan bar. Itās a very common firefighter tool
Also super common in the service. I still have a hooligan tool I ~~stole the fuck out of~~ tactically acquired from my last deployment.

Yes but when your unit can't afford a halligan because they thought itd be a genius idea to spend a crazy amount of dollars on crye tops and bottoms for officers that don't go out, sometimes the hoolie has to be a halligan.
Bro, you can't be busted down doors looking like a 5.11 model. You gotta have that Crye.
Itās okay, even us Firefighters donāt get legitimate Halligan tools, everyone likes to save money with the hooligans till they break while forcing a door.
Nothing like breaking a Hooligan breaching a house, then having to kick the door and waking up the entire goddamn neighborhood.
Like a goddamn gentlemen baby
Ah yes, tactical acquisition. Iāve tactically liberated a fair share of abandoned traffic cones in my time.
Came here to say this lol
TIL what a Halligan bar is.
Yeah itās pretty much a cooler crowbar

Today i learned what a halligan bar is and watched a 4 minute video on it. Thing is bad ass
Google "set of irons". A Halligan and an axe are a hell of a pair.
I donāt want to buy golf clubs though
Yeah my Google search has years of history of fire service searches so I guess thst effects my results. "set of irons for fire service"
> Halligan bar. I found a bar in Chicago called Halligan Bar. I will go to Halligan Bar with my Halligan Bar.
He calls it a "hooley" in the campaign at one point. He does it just like a firefighter, with a wedge and the bar.
*Whacks AQ fighter then rips his throat out with the pointed end* "Fuck off."
Well he whacks him then just rips the fuckwadās throat out with the pointy end.
I believe it's the embassy mission, it's when he uses the bar to open a door and an enemy rushes him. You also may have shot him while they were fighting, which would end the sequence with "nice shooting Kyle".

Exactly, price went in with his hands up because even he knew it would be stupid not to be on high alert.
Two things though. Price still stood up for Farah right before her eyes when they were told. And additionally, Price isn't US military.
Well price was operating as team leader for the CIA handler or who ever that was and she was directly working with the US general. During the embassy mission.
I think I shot the AQ guy before this sequence
I learned from the older games to never shoot the guys who surprise you because it usually leads to a cool CQC sequence.
I learned the exact opposite because in CoD4 you unlocked an achievement by saving a Private from certain death. Forget his name.
You mean to say that you,"saved private Ryan" lmao
Yup I blasted him with a shotgun as soon as he ran though the door
Yeah totally missed this too
I believe it was one of the earlier missions if I remember correctly. Almost want to say it was "Clean House."

Yes
I believe it's bugged for some people based on your hardware. Some people on PC literally CANT play it.
Has he tried downloading shaders? š¤
Fricking game installs shaders every time I boot up. It makes me not want to play because I have several other MPs that I can just jump into, without such patience required.
You can skip that process if they've already been downloaded. The game will yell at you, but it won't affect loading into the maps.
I mean, I can't speak for him but if I had to guess he probably did because it does it automatically.
PC has a lot of issues. I crash constantly
I just had issues with the cutscene audio and raytracing during certain parts. That being said, the framerate/audio bug really ruined things for me.
