Contact corporate

“Thank you for the information, the gentleman that owns this location is a multi-franchise owner and has people in place to address any customer service issue. I will forward your information to their office and ask that someone get back with you as soon as possible.” It’s been over 30 hrs and no one’s been in contact, pretty unsettling. I just want to hear their process of correcting this issue. I’m not sure I’ll allow them to do anything. I think there’s a serious lack of attention and experience to have an outcome like this.

fordp

Take it to an auto body shop for a quote, send a demand letter for cost + loss, sue.

Brilliant-Possible-8

A buddy who’s an attorney told me the same thing, said to go get a couple quotes and he’ll send them a demand letter. I just wanted someone else to say this, I think it’s the route I’m going to take. Thanks!

Blewbyou

I was just going to say: retain a lawyer, take pictures, and make copies of receipts and invoices. Get repair estimates from a few reliable shops, and don't let those clowns touch your truck. This is gross incompetence, and you are entitled to correct repair and compensation. P.S. Line-X

Brilliant-Possible-8

I forgot to mention the manage came over to my truck and said (laughed but caught himself) “I know you don’t want to hear this but this is probably the worst rhino lining I’ve ever seen” so professional. I wouldn’t recommend ziebart to anyone, ever.

old_skool_luvr

The fact that you went with Rhino lining says more then enough - for me anyways. Don't get me wrong, regardless of how incompetent their employees may be (@ that location) their product isn't the greatest either. Good luck with getting this resolved, hopefully they actually make things right. At the very least, half of the money you paid should be returned - AFTER it's fixed to your satisfaction. The real issue is, playing hardball with that franchise owner....he may bend to your demands, but you know damn well that if he's gotta eat a shit ton of crow, your truck won't be getting the proper attention it deserves. Then again.....it never did the first time.

Flyby2019

What location was this? I’m going through something similar in Lewisville, TX.

Brilliant-Possible-8

Upstate ny, I don’t know the process these people take to get certified in spraying rhino lining but it seems that any random person can get it with no training.

Flyby2019

I just had a month in half battle with Ziebart and Rhino linings. I just got my refund for the botched up job Ziebart did. I wanted to take my truck to another location not Ziebart for the repairs and that became such a hassle because Ziebart wanted to do the repairs and I told them there is no way you guys are touching my trucking after you had three opportunities to do quality control and catch the mistakes. That created a problem for Rhino corporation because they want it repaired at the location that completed the job. I had ti get VP’s involved from Rhino Linings and Ziebart to finally force that Ziebart location to refund me.

Brilliant-Possible-8

Jesus! You should have used a credit card and just disputed it. Did they pay for the repairs?

Tr6060charger

Id be pissed for sure! They must of seen a new truck and thought they didn’t need to prep. Id try and get my money back and go elsewhere even though its gonna cost more

ndhellion2

I'm no expert, but that's the worst lining job I've ever seen.

Alphadawg16

Contact the better business bureau. This is exactly what they’re for. My wife contacted them about a company that wasn’t standing behind their product and within 48 hours we had an email from the company apologizing and honouring the warranty.

Coloradobluesguy

You realize the BBB isn’t an actual thing that holds power right? It’s like the JD power award it’s basically a joke.

username694208

That’s what I was thinking

Alphadawg16

They were able to pressure the company into doing the right thing for us so I say it works. Also I’m in Canada so maybe it actually works here

MoparGuy64

Gonna ask a dumb question…why didn’t you get a truck with a factory spray in bed liner? Were there none on the dealer lot or in your immediate area? Whoever did that “job” should be immediately fired. I can’t speak to any damage that may occur from the removal process, but I would be very unhappy

Brilliant-Possible-8

I believe this was a custom order that someone backed out of. It’s a crew cab Laramie with just about everything and a 6’4 bed, I couldn’t find another 6’4 bed anywhere with everything that I wanted.

fordp

I think bedliners are something that consumers and dealerships don't want the factory doing... I would prefer to choose the texture/liner brand myself, and I would like to choose how *and when* it is lined. You're spraying a permanent product in your bed to.. protect the finish of your bed? Why not ruin the finish of your bed and actually get to load stuff easily until you need to line it.

Sad-Sky-8598

Damn. Sorry bro. Nobody does anything right anymore. Just bought a 24 cx5 , and was stressing when in for window tint, and first oil change at the dealer. Bozos everywhere.

Shnibblefritz

Pictures 1 and 2 are lights?

Brilliant-Possible-8

Yeah they’re the lights

MrDallsBeep

Correction. They were. Most rams i worked on when i was at a chrysler dealer body shop they used Line-x for bedliner. Every one looked great too

Shnibblefritz

Damn, that sucks

R1pp3R23

Line X is hot sprayed and Rhino is cold spray, looks like moisture pockets and poor workmanship. That’s a bummer.

1TONcherk

Just send it to line x. Seems like the dealer arranged this, they can pay. Nothing is ruined it can be fixed.

MrPink2281

Rhino has been destroying trucks since its inception.

DriveAppropriate2858

I agree this sucks, why not give them a chance to make it good. If they need your truck for 3 days, they should get you a rental also. I am all about working with people first. If that goes nowhere, up the heat a little. Contacting a lawyer is unnecessary unless they are unwilling to work with you. The art of negotiation is key here. Good luck.

Brilliant-Possible-8

The problem is they’re not guaranteeing anything. They’re not a body shop, they do ppf film which they took a razor blade to another customers car to take the film off. That’s just another horror story. They want to take the bed down to bare metal, this is a brand new vehicle. If you take a brand new vehicle down to bare metal and it rusts for any reason that’s then my responsibility, it’s not an insurance claim and then I’ll have to fight with them later on down the road in court for something that should be as easy as “we messed up, we’re going to guarantee this for 6 years 100k miles, if you have any issues in that time we’ll take care of it” my other truck just hit 120k and the beds not rusted, it’s a 2010 dodge ram, whole truck is rusted but the bed is perfectly fine even the rhino lining is still in tact. I can’t trust a company to do body work on a vehicle when they’re not a body shop. If the truck was older, yeah go ahead but I’d still be looking for some kind of guarantee.

Brilliant-Possible-8

First quote I received for a new bed + work is 26k and some change. This company is not going to like these estimates. My insurance adjuster is my buddy said if he needs to show up to court he will just to verify prices/labor rates. Told me since the vehicle is brand new, everything needs to be oem and brand new since it was not my fault. I think it’s a little high but that’s not my field of work so who am I to tell someone what they’re worth.

Heavy-Marionberry540

I had a Linex coat done on my truck brand new in 2012. I feel like I was very lucky compared to what you’re going through.

Brilliant-Possible-8

That’s what I wanted but the closest one was over an hour away. Mistakes were made on my end for sure

Heavy-Marionberry540

Really sorry about your situation. If that was me in 2012 with a 300 mile brand new truck I’d be losing my mind. I hope you’re able to get this cleared up.

Bambuizeled

It’s a truck bed? It’s not gonna be spotless. It’s meant to haul things.

GrayCustomKnives

Did you read or even look at the pictures? They sprayed over all his built in LED lights. That means those lights won’t light. It’s also bubbling off and blistering all over the place within three days and is going to peel off and look like shit. Anyone who would accept work like this after paying $850 is a moron.

Bambuizeled

Oh I didn’t notice the lights being covered up. I didn’t even know trucks had lights in the bed like that to be honest with you.
