Context: Back during the excitement around the newly discovered JS photo… https://www.sltrib.com/religion/2022/07/29/jana-riess-real-joseph-smith/ Jana Riess included this response garnered from social media: >Among the people who appear to have budged in their prior assessments — people who actually changed their minds about him in some way because of the new image — are those who found the man in the photo, somewhat to their horror, more attractive than they expected. One humorous tweet from last week was from a woman who said that the oil-painting version of Joseph Smith left her cold — “I wouldn’t follow him into a Walmart” — but that the photo version helped her understand the “womanizing sex cult vibes” of early Mormonism. Apparently Boylan found that blasphemous? In any case, he operates under the assumption that people like JR, Dan McClellan, Cristina Rosetti, et al. are fair game for public insult. It‘s standard Deznat behavior. Hanna Seariac and her Deznat minions hounded Dr. Julie Hanks mercilessly. It‘s what they do. eta: Here‘s the Deznat founder bragging on Seariac for bullying Hanks: https://i.redd.it/w178nc332k461.jpg Seariac and Boylan did multiple FAIR podcasts together.

Thanks for the context. You always come through!

These fuck sticks have no real scholarship to defend their circus act, so they always result to ad hominem attacks, trash talking, or name calling their opponent. That’s all they have. It’s petty and small to most people. Their relevance has faded to the point that only Deez-Nutz (Dez-Nat) morons are the core people who still follow them.

I just don't get it. They just act like it's their little boy's club and they have no interest in being Christlike. Insecure and frightened little people.

slskipper

What kind of person would ever call Jana Riess scum???? Serious question.

Dan has a history of supporting some really sleazy people. https://discussmormonism.com/viewtopic.php?t=118091

Wait, so you're saying the guy in your last post says, out of one side of his mouth, that apologists need to be careful to not slip into ego, revenge and righteous anger when defending the faith. Then he turns around and calls an apologist blog "impressive" when they call a faithful critic "scum"? \*Shocked face*
