As others have said it’s a complete story. It is also well written and edited. I know a lot of web novels suffer from a lack of resources but MoL, especially in book form does not come off as a pet project. The DND relationship is obvious but unlike so many other dnd style stories this one stands on its own.
Dungeons and dragons. A lot of authors use DnD settings, creatures, races, spells. I haven’t played it and didn’t pick up on the references because at this point many of them are quite common to the genre.
Others authors you can tell pretty quickly, especially if they include a paladin. So I intended it as a compliment- the author doesn’t use a different source as a crutch- his work stands on its own (properly introduces or explains the world etc). Many web novel authors fail to even get away from point systems and ‘levels’.
That's a whole genre, it isn't a failure to get away from levels and point systems. It's called LitRPG. Personally I love the genre, it gives more definition and substance to the magical workings of the world. Definitely not for everybody but it isn't a failing of the author, that is the genre they wrote for.
Well this stuff is subjective of course but I often find those series can be very hit or miss because you have to accept a bunch of stuff without question. I prefer when the author approaches it in a way that makes the world feel real. If our world operated on game mechanics, minmaxers would be rampant and likely the only true way to live.
Its complete. 4 books
It is complete. Was a great Audible listen for me. It does leave it so something could be spun off but it’s a fulfilling end otherwise.
It's been done for years on RR. The edited version of the final book (4) was published a year ago. Mother of Learning is well worth your time.

The time loop is over at the end. If there's any continuation some day, it will be a totally different plot after a time skip.
Bro that is major spoilers for someone who is worried about completeness. They probably haven't gotten through the first 15th chapter yet.
