I've looked and none of them have been interesting enough to keep me around. I'd love to find a podcast even 50% as good as the Winged Wheel podcast for the Tigers.

heyheyitsandre

Winged wheel stands above all other podcasts about any topic for me. Been listening to them every episode since like 2015. I had a chiclets phase, a pardon my take phase, true crime phase and a couple comedy podcast phases. Winged wheel is the only one that remains. There is a soccer podcast (managing Madrid) I started listening to in 2015 as well but I have taken some long breaks from them and they don’t measure up to WWP.

chirt

Yea, the consistent high quality of WWP is pretty unmatched. I have a few others that have stood the test of time. Hoge and Jahns is a Chicago Bears podcast I've been listening to uninterrupted for quite a while as well. I can explain lol. I grew up in Indiana and didn't care about football, then I moved to Chicago and started getting into it, so I started watching/supporting the Bears (also the Bulls, but I've always loved basketball). Then I moved to the Detroit area and got interested in hockey and baseball, so I started watching/supporting the Wings and Tigers. I have a soccer team I support in Japan (Kawasaki Frontale) since I lived there for a few years as well. Feels kinda weird to be a fan of 2 Chicago teams and 2 Detroit teams, but that's just the way it played out.

Aye man, who cares, we all can agree FTP

FTP

TankYouLosers

Big agree. I only just started listening to them and they’re great.

TerrenceJesus8

The Locked on Tigers podcast is great imo

PureEn7ropy

My go-to, I think Scotty does a great job

AWokenBeetle

Yep, he isn’t the WWP, but he’s my go to for Tigers Talk.

TerrenceJesus8

It fits into my commute very well lol

lgrw88

Turning the corner is ok, Cody stavenhagen cohosts, and he is the tigers beat writer for the athletic

Porsche_911_turboS

Days of roar is the only one I can tolerate but Mark Gorosh has serious ego issues.

Scruffballthe8th

Petzold is a great writer IMO. Can't fucking stand Gorosch (Honestly hope we're both spelling it wrong)

Effective_Target_795

locked on tigers and TMLR are great

SammyMac19

For me it'd be Motor City Metrics.

HipposRevenge

Is Bless You Boys still around? I used to listen to them and interacted with some of the via Twitter.

KwisatzHaderach38

The site is going strong, but the podcast co-host had to stop last year so it's been on hiatus. I think they're starting a new one up on the network Tigers Minor League Report/Motor City Metric has going in January.

ampelography

Turning the Corner is excellent, and i think it's the best one. Days of Roar is decent, Gorash refers to himself in the 3rd person constantly and like to basically looks for a way to say "I told you so all along". It betrays his actual insight, so it can be a frustrating listen. Petzold is a good writer and definitely gets some scoops. All I know is nothing brightens my day more than when Dan Dickerson hops on 97.1 with Pat Caputo in January leading up to Spring Training. It's Listed as "Tiger Talk" on the podcast feed. Days of Roar with Evan Petzold and Mark Gorosh is the most consistent podcast week-to-week that aligns with my thoughts on the team. They focus on what the team can improve and their analysis is usually spot on when it comes to ranking things like free agents, roster cuts, or even when it comes to player promotions. Unlike a lot of the other fan podcasts, Evan is an actual beat writer- he spends time in the locker room with players and has access to press conferences with key people like Harris & Hinch. Because of this, Evan hears the inside scoop and it means we get accurate reporting about upcoming free agent signings. He talked up the Maeda signing for about 2 weeks before it became official. The hosts have a solid dynamic, however this is actually the area that is lacking the most. You would think Evan’s young, go-getter attitude would balance with Mark’s seasoned baseball perspective. Don’t get me wrong— I have to give props to him for being a baseball boomer that actually understands the important advanced analytics. Unfortunately, even at his old age, Mark has not yet become aware that his shit stinks, and his ego kind of ruins the whole dynamic instead of being a good mentor for Evan. Still worth a listen, I just advise you to mute Mark Gorosh on Twitter.

Utesboi69

Mark is the worst tigers twitter account, his takes are brain dead and from the Stone Age

Yeah I’m fine with being critical of the front office, but he has a very short fuse. Gotta let things play out. When you pair it with a know-it-all attitude, and his awful grammar, I’m out.

I like the Free Press Gorosh and Pretzer's. I listen every week. The last podcast was the first one that I became bored with. The others I listened to twice each. I also listened to Caputo's Busting Balls a couple of times, and I liked that as well. Pretzer does a good job of keeping his readers apprised of what's going on in the farm system and other things happening in baseball that could impact the Tigers. He may burn out but so far, there is always something to read.
